It's Easy Being Green For Cameron Diaz in Marie Claire

Cameron Diaz scored another July magazine cover, this time on Marie Claire. Like in her Vogue spread, Cameron talked about both her new movie, My Sister's Keeper, and the activism that's made her one of the most eco-friendly celebs. She took someone from the magazine along as she produced a short, exclusive video - check it out here - about what we can all do to help the planet, while also discussing her work, life, and fame. Here's more:

On being comfortable with her fame: "I just have a lot of friends. That's how I think of it. It's nice to see people smile . . . Every once in a while, you'll have those moments when people give you the stink eye. And you're like, 'What the f*ck is your problem? What, am I horrific-looking?' But really what they're thinking is, Am I seeing who I think I'm seeing? It's just a shock . . . I don't have any problem with being famous. I've completely made peace with being recognizable and people wanting to peek into my life in some way."
On her early days: "I had the good fortune of becoming famous once I had already lived a life, traveled a lot, stood in line, had to ask people to help me, had to find a way to make something work, pay the rent, scrape by . . . I used to do $4 a day with a girlfriend. We would get two tacos and split a Coke."
On this film project: "I was like, I'm going to get a camera, and I'm going to mobile-home it across the country, and I'm just going to find out what people are thinking. What would it take for the common person to become engaged. There's a lot of great minds out there who are thinking about this, who are coming up with solutions. Not to crash anybody's party, but to actually make the party better. Really, that's what it's about - that's my participation in it."

Renée Gets Pretty in Pink For Marie Claire

Renée Zellweger looked flirty and feminine posing for the February cover of Marie Claire, a big difference from the Golden Globes look that landed her on our worst dressed list. Besides showing her face on the red carpets during award season, she's busy promoting her movie, New in Town. After a few failed relationships, including her marriage to Kenny Chesney, Renee opens up to the magazine about her current love life and why she doesn't consider herself single. Here are some highlights:

On marriage: "I never say never about anything, because I look back on my own personal history and it shocks me. If I would ever have said, 'Oh for sure this is going to be in my future,' most of my experiences would not have been on my list. So I don't even bother thinking about it, because I've learned that there's no anticipating that stuff."
On her love life: "The thing is, I'm away all the time. I suppose if I sat still long enough to get to know somebody beyond a dinner date, maybe. But I don't feel like my life is empty or that I have to make something happen. I have projects to develop. I want to study American history and political science, live in an apartment in France, and fix my bad French. And is there really time for all of it? Last summer, when I said it wasn't the right time for something I wanted to do, a friend asked, 'How long are you going to live?' I'm not single, I'm busy. That's my line."

Mary-Kate Reads the Fine Print and Paves Her Own Way

Mary-Kate Olsen has come a long way, looking confident and sultry on the July cover of Elle. In the article, after admitting that she enjoys reading the fine print - she's a pro by now - she talks a little about what it was like growing up a star, her infamous style, and that twin of hers. Plus, we get to hear some style icons gush about her for a change. It's no secret that I've always been a fan of MK, but there's still something so great about seeing her really come into her own. Here are highlights:

On Ashley: “We don’t agree all the time. The way we go about business or designing or making a decision is that we come at it from two completely different angles that at the end of the day, even when we don’t think we’re agreeing with each other, we are agreeing. We’re just getting there in different ways. Unless you’re a twin, you honestly can’t know how close twins can be. There’s such a strength, but that also makes it…” Her voice trails off. “When there’s that much love there’s…Well, there’s the opposite of everything, but it stems from love, and it stems from passion. We’re driven people. I do know I can’t work in an office. Ashley, on the other hand, loves going to an office.”
On being sexy: “I feel like I can be sexy when I want to be,” she says. “I think all women are sexy. Some may feel it more than others. I personally think the women who are the most sexy are the women who are truly themselves, whatever that may be.”
On her fashion: “I don’t know-you’re either on the worst-dressed list or you’ve started a fashion trend. I think there’s a real disconnect between the media’s perception of fashion and the fashion world’s idea of fashion. I don’t know why I wear some of the things I wear. I like wearing crazy things sometimes. I like being playful. Sometimes I feel like I’m playing dress-up and becoming a character. It’s sort of like an art. It can change your mood or the way that people are attracted to you.”

Lauren Hutton on MK: “I feel like M.K. is a kindred spirit. She lives an experimental life. When you’re young, you should be trying on lots of things, not just clothes. She understands that. You’re not born with taste. That’s a bunch of hooey. Like everything else, taste is a process of discovery. I like that about her. She’s always discovering her tastes.”
Karl Lagerfeld on MK: “I love a tiny woman in Chanel. Coco herself was tiny, so you don’t need to be a giant to look good in these. I like the way M.K. is mixing Chanel with other things. Life is not a fashion show, and I find a total designer look boring.”
DvF on MK: “Mary-Kate is fragile yet strong...She’s an old soul in a very young girl. Hers is a story that has just begun.”

Say what you will about how she dresses, from starstruck tweens to the biggest names in fashion, I'm not sure anyone has a fan base like Mary-Kate Olsen. Now while I wait to see what she and Ashley come out with next, I'll go back to coveting all pretty much the entire Elizabeth and James line.

Eva Longoria Still Dreams For Hope Not Babies, Yet

Eva Longoria sparkled on the red carpet at last night's Padres Contra El Cancer's 8th Annual "El Sueno De Esperanza" benefit gala in LA. With children and Eva there, naturally talk turned to babies. After responding "nope" when asked about plans to have kids soon, she said, "People always say 'I want a boy! I want a girl!' I just think, Oh my gosh, I just want a healthy child. . . That's truly a gift. If you're a healthy adult, to complain about anything in life that's so minute, you really have to be grateful for everything that you have and do something with it." Just another sound bite to add to her library of baby answers, which happens to be the same thing she said at the event last year - I'd feel bad for her if she didn't seem like she's eating up the attention.

Cameron, Keanu, Jim and Jenny Join for a Night at the Movies

Fresh from a weekend on the set of Yes Man, Jim Carrey went out with Jenny McCarthy for AFI's Night At The Movies presented by Target in LA. They weren't the only stars out for the red carpet - Keanu Reeves kept it typically dark while Cameron Diaz had that in love smile on her face though no hot Paul by her side. Plus at the end of those long legs were some adorable polka dot shoes. The event included simultaneous screenings of 12 classic American movies with introductions from their stars - Jim went on stage to talk about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Keanu for The Matrix, Cameron for There's Something About Mary and on and on from Dustin Hoffman to Mike Meyers. Sounds like a perfect way to take in a Wednesday night at the movies taking a walk down memory lane joined by some of the world's biggest stars.

Ashley Looks Great, Talks About Olsen Twin Powers

As I mentioned earlier, Ashley Olsen is Marie Clarie's September cover girl -- and she looks gorgeous! While she did wear a little bit of color for the cover shot, the rest of it is her standard black and white fare. I can't complain though because the photos are phenomenal. In the interview she talked about her relationship with MK. When I was little I always wanted to be a twin and it sounds like MK and A have an awesome twinsie connection. Here's more:

On Mary-Kate's Former Eating Issues:“That situation was more about how destructive the media can be to a person emotionally, to their identity, their public persona. It’s really sick."
On Their Twin Connection:“I know when she’s hurting, I know when she’s going through something, I know when she’s happy - whether I”m with her or not, I know. We both carry the weight of each other. When she’s doing really well, maybe I’m not doing so well. It’s weird that we’re never at the same place - we just kind of balance each other out.”

Guys Love Matt Damon Too!

Thankfully Matt Damon ditched the hideous mustache to accept his Spike TV Guy of the Year Award. His character Jason Bourne also won for Biggest Ass Kicker. It's the second time the network has had the Guy Choice Awards which included categories such as The Hotter Eva (Mendes won), Decade of Hotness (Cameron Diaz), Hottest Girl on the Planet (Jessica Biel, really?), The Next Big Thing (Megan Fox) and Luckiest Bastard (Brian Austin Green). While the show is still new, it drew big names such as Matt, Cameron, Harrison Ford, Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Adam Sandler. It doesn't air until June 22nd but you can enjoy tons of pics here now.

Britney Finally Shows Up to Give Her Deposition

After skipping yet another scheduled deposition yesterday (while off playing with her paparazzo friend), Britney she finally wised up this morning and showed up at Kevin's lawyer's office to get sworn in and answer his questions. Britney looked demure as always . . . ooooooor she wore a revealing backless hot pink dress (photos coming). At least her Mary Jane Loubs are nice. Why am I not surprised that she didn't show up in something more appropriate? While I'm sure there was a lot of ground to cover, Britney wasn't inside too long, bolting after only 45 minutes. Hopefully Brit was on her best behavior inside, but since there isn't a video camera in the room, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the people in the room say about what happened in there.

Update: Kevin's lawyer Mark Kaplan gave a press conference saying that while Brit's deposition was scheduled for 9:45 to 11:45, she didn't show up until 11:32. So she sat and answered questions for 13 minutes before leaving on time. There is another deposition scheduled; methinks she'll be late to that one too.

MK Plays Dress Up And Gets Real

Could MK look any cuter in EW? We're eagerly awaiting her big acting comeback since we're a huge fan but admittedly I haven't watched her on screen since Full House (OK I wanted to see New York Minute but just couldn't bring myself to do it). The good news is that in the article Mary-Kate comes clean about why she hides from the paparazzi and how great she' s feeling these days. Here are some highlights:

''I don't want my picture taken. The only time I think it's okay is at a red-carpet event or a photo shoot. So every time I see paparazzi, I cover my face so they don't get a picture, and I'm just 'the mean person who doesn't smile. I would love to be able to swim in the ocean in Malibu. But that is asking for a bikini shot. That's inviting something that I don't want to happen. I don't need to be on a 'Who's Skinny, Who's Fat, Who's Looking Healthy, Who's Not Eating?' list.''
''There's definitely been times in my life when I just turned to people and said, 'I'm done, this is too much for me, this is too overwhelming.' Mentally, physically, I feel pretty on top of my game right now,'' she says. ''Talk to me next week, I don't know. Today, I feel good.''

We're so glad to hear that MK is feeling healthy these days and is ready to bring her A-game to both the big and small screens. We're definitely counting the days until she makes her big debut on Weeds on September 17th!!

MK & Ashley Cranking Out More Clothes

More good news for Olsenophiles! (Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?) Not only is Mary-Kate hard at work on the set of Weeds but the pint sized fashionista twins are gearing up to release yet another new clothing line. Wheeee! The new one is named Elizabeth and James, after their two other siblings, and will be more affordable than their first fashion venture, The Row.

Check out a peek of the wares, which look properly Olsen-y, here! Obviously there are tons of you who are less-than-loving towards the former Michelle Tanners, but considering how rich and famous they have been since birth, you gotta admit that they somehow manage to keep themselves out of trouble. Plus, there's something endearing about seeing them all sister-y, right? 2007 is totes shaping up to be an Olsen-tastic year!
