I can't believe they're making another movie. I loved the show, the the first film was a good little extra for the fans, but now they're just overdoing it. The show was about single 30-somethings (and Samantha) in NY city, but now three of the girls are married and have settled down, and no one wants to see an almost-50-year-old married woman having sex on the big screen.
Plus, all these cameos just make it seem like they don't have good enough material and are relying on star power for this one.
They ended it so well...I don't get why they're milking it now.

I have a feeling this movie is going to suck.

I think it's fun! I personally wish Tim Gunn would randomly pop up in all kinds of places throughout my life!... standing at the toaster, hey! Tim Gunns behind me with orange juice!! Walking out to the parking garage, OMG! IT's Tim Gunn at the elevator! Ok, so admittedly one place I wouldn't want to see him pop up is next to me in my bed lol!!

Anon, some of us old folks would love to see sex in the city for the married older woman set...heck, I'm almost 34- I'm not living the single 20's lifestyle, but I think it would be fun to see them living the married life as older women- and sex is funny in married life, too! lol!!

Kudos to justanerd1975. I get sick and tired of all the youngies in this site thinking that their the only ones having sex, or that 40 is old. Like they're never going to age themselves. Having said that though, the first movie was really bad so I don't hold out much hope for this one, regardless of how many celeb cameos they cram in there.

more like flogging a dead horse than too many bells and whistles. this reminds me of Lauren Weisberger, whose first offering Devil Wears Prada was quality. her recent offering Chasing Harry Winston has product placement on every awful page. i know it's entertainment, but that doesn't mean it has to be a complete sellout.

I love Tim Gunn, so I don't have a problem with that. Plus, it sort of makes sense because he's fashion and SATC is fashion. But I have a problem with the others. Especially Miley Cyrus. I don't have anything against Penelope Cruz, but what's the point of having her in it?

a million suns, I could not agree more! I adore Tim and given the stylish nature of the movie, it makes sense to have him make an appearance. Penelope seems like a random choice and Miley-ugh-I can do without seeing!

I don't think everyone commenting knows that Sex in the City grossed $415 million dollars worldwide! Cameos will help get some people who are currently on the fence, into the theaters. Plus, as you can see,it generates free publicity.

#5 and #6- I am not saying that sex in marriage is boring or that older people don't have sex, my point was that the basic premise of the show (single gals dating in NYC) is no longer there.
Basically, what more can they do? Miranda and Charolette are married and have kids, and Carrie got married as well. Not that life after marriage isn't interesting, but in terms of the show's storyline I think the first movie was a good way to end it.
Plus, I do agree with my earlier statement in that I don't want to see Samantha- at 50+ years old- having one night stands with random men. Not because its gross or anything, but because its totally irresponsible and imature for her age.
Basically, it seems that none of the cast/crew can find anything else to do and want to get as much money out of SATC as possible, which is a shame cause they're ruining a great show.

i adore tim gunn and looooooved sex and the city, i just think that when things are finished they should just be finished. i just can't imagine it being any good. and to add on to others remarks, i didn't like watching samantha have sex in the early episodes, so eh... i just hope they would've stopped with the first movie. and really, miley cyrus? should she really be connected to a show about sex...i just must not be very cool because that seems wrong!!!

Are you more used to it now? Everyone knows Miley has the goal of waiting for marriage to have sex. Maybe she'll be a role model for the other women. If Nick Jonas would ask Miley to marry her she'd be engaged now. They just can't figure out how to make it work with both spouses touring, often internationally.

I don't mind cameos (not that I know many of them--who's Tim Gunn?). But yeah..Miley Cyrus? Isn't that Hannah Montana gal? What's she doing there? LOL

For me SATC movie is eye candy (no 1), then the plot (no 2).
And Samantha can still go at it like rabbits for all I care.
I for one thought that it's rather refreshing that active and adventurous sex life can still happen at 50s It's still awhile 'till I get there, but that 'hope' sounds good to me

I don't want to offend her fans but I hate Miley Cyrus. She was on a big talk show here in the UK and she has to be, one of the single most unlikable characters I have ever seen interviewed on TV. And some teen who abstains from sex is hardly suitable for Sex and the City. A film about fashion and grown-ups who enjoy lots of sex.

OMG totally agree lisa101 & Allyace. WTF does Miley Cyrus have to do with SATC??! Some (supposed) virgin 16 yr old girl on a show about older, sexually empowered women??! I don't get it, and that itself is really turning me off about this movie.

the whole point of the series was that they were such new york women, DEFINITELY NOT the hollywood type. so no.... please no more cameos!

i have to agree w/ some other posters when i say that i still LOVE the series and the 1st movie was a nice little bonus, but its getting to be overkill. how many times can big dump carrie? how many fights can miranda and steve have? how many more guys can sam sleep with?

My guess is they're supposed to make up for the lack of a great script and viable plot so no, not really a big fan. I don't think they can pull this off (it'll make money, but it won't be good).

Miley was great on the Jonathan Ross show! Perhaps you were expecting a demure, blushing SUPERSTAR! Well, I hate to tell you about Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny, but demur Superstars, demur Presidents of the U.S., demur Heavyweight Boxing Champions...these things DO NO EXIST!

Fashion is not exclusive to the twenty something crowd anymore, and I hate to break it to you, but neither is sex. If Miley can influence people to have that sex within marriage, it's all to the good. Then we wouldn't have to rename the series Unwanted Pregnancy in the city, or Sexually Transmitted Diseases in the City, or Killing Your Fetus in the City. Maybe Miley is there to make the satirical point that the movie shows MORE consequences for wearing the same dress as another woman then there are to having lots of sex!
