We Talk to Matt and Josh While the People Speak

Matt Damon and Josh Brolin stepped out last night for the NYC premiere of The People Speak. The program, which features celebrities reading important documents from America's past, will debut on the History Channel Dec. 13. Both Matt and Josh are producers of the project that features Danny Glover, and John Krasinski made a late, low-key entrance to pose for photos before heading inside. Emily Blunt was there for the afterparty, lending her support to both her fiance John and her The Adjustment Bureau costar Matt. We had a chance to chat with Josh, who said working with Matt is easy and fun - and they're also set to star together in an upcoming Coen brothers film. Matt, meanwhile, said history is a big hit with his girls at home, though his youngest two daughters are still a little too small to show much interest just yet.

Rachel McAdams looked radiant and boho chic at the Toronto Film Festival premiere of The Lucky Ones last night. She arrived solo in the late Summer dusk, but I'd like to think that Mr. Gosling has a little something to do with that big smile of hers. Ever since the amazing photos of them back together kissing at lunch we've been waiting for our next McAdams/Gosling moment, which joins The Time Traveler's Wife on the list of things we're excited to see from Rachel.

Celebs Get Their Thursday Night Party On

Paris and Nicky Hilton were out on the town in LA last night (no surprises here), but lots of other stars came out of the woodwork as well. Benicio del Toro and Russell Crowe were among the A-listers who headed to Mr. Chow for a dinner hosted by filmmaker Julian Schnabel. Somehow we can't imagine that Tim Robbins and Oliver Stone had tons to talk about with Paris, but maybe former bad boy Colin still has a soft spot for socialites. Even though it was a big night out in Hollywood, it seems like everyone managed to behave themselves.

Stars of Yesterday and Today Join Forces to Do Good

Maggie Gyllenhaal represented the young blood amid some of Hollywood's finest seasoned veterans to join Peter Gabriel in hosting the WITNESS 15th Anniversary Focus for Change Benefit Dinner in NYC last night. Maggie looked a little blah in polka dots while Susan Sarandon and Goldie Hawn had their Banger Sisters reunion. It can't be easy for Hollywood's leading ladies to have to make room for fresh talent, but we're glad to see that they can come together for a good cause.

Petra Hosts Her Happy Hearts in NYC

Last night Petra Nemcova's charity Happy Hearts hosted the Heart of Gold Ball in NYC. Bruce has been a long time supporter of Petra's charity but based on the rumors of these two, he may just be a supporter of Petra. Unfortunately for her, Bruce was not looking his coolest. The attire called for white or gold for the ladies while the men were simply told black tie. As you can tell, Tim Robbins took that to mean blue attire. He seemed to be in a particularly cheery mood. Perhaps something to do with the deal with Showtime?

Performer of the night, Wyclef went for a checkered black and white look while Eva Mendes looked gorgeous in white for a second night in a row. Check out Bella to see how to get her beautiful look. Petra looked very pleased with the turn out and we bet she raised some fabulous funds to help those children in need.

Jake and Mark Make Nice

It looks like Jake and Mark were able to put all their differences behind them for the NY screening of Zodiac. Now they can turn their focus on more important things - like getting dressed up all fancy and looking damn good! We hear the movie is scary but really good.

Half Nelson Tops Gotham Awards

The Gotham Awards sparked some controversy this year for allowing big studio backed films to compete with the low budget indies that the show usually recognizes. However, this did not keep the stars away and it looks like the indies still dominated the awards despite competition from The Departed. Half Nelson was the big winner of the night with best feature, breakthrough director and breakthrough actor (Go Ryan Gosling!). Babel also won for best ensemble cast. Everyone at this award show took things pretty seriously. Brittany Murphy seems to be the only one willing to play to the cameras. It's a good thing too because you know Sean Penn won't do it!
