Last night Kenny Chesney was declared the Entertainer of the Year for the fourth year in a row at the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Vegas. Garth Brooks was also back in the limelight to receive the first-ever Crystal Milestone Award for his outstanding achievements. Performer Keith Urban didn't need a trophy to make him gush. The father-to-be expressed his excitement showing off Nicole's growing baby bump on the red carpet. Top new female vocalist, Taylor Swift got real wet with a chilling performance of "Should've Said No" where she was singing and dancing while water poured down on her. Winner for best female vocalist Carrie Underwood not only looked gorgeous in her many outfits, but she also showed her chic geeky side playing with the hottest new toy she plays on her tour bus - I gotta get me one of those.

Country Cuties Come Out for the CMT Music Awards

Nashville rolled out the purple carpet for the finest in country music last night. Nicole and her barely showing baby bump supported her husband Keith Urban who was the opening act. Faith Hill looked a little lost in her all black ensemble but that hubby Tim McGraw's hat was a helpful distraction. As for the younger ladies, Carrie Underwood looked perfect in purple. This American Idol is well beyond being known as the reality TV contestant. Miley Cyrus continues to be everywhere. This was her first of many outfits throughout the evening as the host and performer. Taylor Swift was looking like a princess and the young star was also the big winner last night.

Jessica Helps Honor a Country Music Giant

Some of country music and rock n roll's finest gathered at Gibson Amphitheatre in LA last night to celebrate filming CMT Giants: Hank Williams Jr. The show, which featured performances by Steven Tyler, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tim McGraw and Toby Keith among others, paid tribute to Williams Jr.'s career. Present and accounted for was country music's future sensation, Jessica Simpson in a sassy orange number. I'm sure the boys were enjoying that one. Maybe that was partially to account for the big smile on Kid Rock's face, fresh off being charged with battery last weekend. Thankfully, it looks like last night's event went off without a hitch (or an arrest). The show is scheduled to air on CMT, Saturday, November 17 at 9:00 PM.

The big bright stars of country music came together in Las Vegas last night for the Academy of Country Music Awards. Nicole Kidman stood out on the red carpet, laughing with Keith Urban in her daring dress, while the young ladies in the circuit like Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood lightened things up in their gorgeous gowns. Miley Cyrus looked surprisingly demure with her dad on her arm instead of boyfriend Justin Gaston. Inside the show it was all eyes on the ladies still as Carrie took home the biggest award of the night - entertainer of the year. She said, "I've had a lot of good moments in the last four years. This one takes the cake!" before giving cute a shout-out to her NHL boyfriend Mike Fisher.

Matthew McConaughey is new in the music scene, but he fits right in joking on stage about not losing his shirt while in Vegas and sitting in the audience with Camila Alves. Performers included Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and more. Jamie Foxx is a frequent award show attendee and this time he took the chance to talk about change with Barack Obama in the White House and formerly-known-as-Hootie, Darius Rucker, on the country charts. Carrie Underwood Shines at CMTs

Last night the stars of the country music world were honored by their fans at the CMT Awards in Nashville. AI contestants Kellie Pickler and Bucky Covington were there and we are really NOT digging Kellie's new look. The always adorable Carrie Underwood glowed in orange and scored 3 awards for her song "Before He Cheats." Carrie has obviously come a long way since winning American Idol 2 years ago, saying "It was at the CMT awards last year that I gave my first acceptance speech ever. It's been such an amazing and blessed two years." Carrie was also one of the many performers of the night, along with Bon Jovi, Martina McBride & Rascal Flatts. We saw Brit make a surprise appearance looking pretty at the AMAs last night, as well as some very cool performances. However the night was really about honoring the best in the business. The Black Eyed Peas scored big last night bringing home the most awards. They took the crown as best rap/hip-hop album, best rap/hip-hop group, and best soul/r&b group. The Red Hot Chili Peppers, the original AI winner Kelly Clarkson, Mary J Blige and Rascal Flatts all did really well too bringing home 2 awards each.

The 2007 People's Choice Awards nominees were announced today by Isaiah Washington and Neil Patrick Harris. Luckily nothing went down between these two, but Isaiah did have to read Patrick Dempsey's name for Favorite Male TV Star.
