Tracy Morgan Apologizes For Homophobic Rant - Do You Forgive Him?

Longtime Tracy Morgan fan Kevin Rogers was severely disappointed by what he heard last Friday at the comedian's show, and took to Facebook to share what happened. Kevin, who is gay, says he expected some good-humored gay jokes at some point, but there was nothing funny about the homophobic turn Tracy's show took. Kevin wrote on Facebook:

He mentioned that gay was something kids learn from the media and programming, and that bullied kids should just bust some a*s and beat those other little f*ckers that bully them, not whine about it. He said if his son . . . was gay he better come home and talk to him like a man and not [he mimicked a gay, high pitched voice] or he would pull out a knife and stab that little N (one word I refuse to use) to death.

After news of the antigay rant spread, the 30 Rock star and former SNL cast member apologized. In a statement released today, Tracy said: "I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville. I’m not a hateful person and don’t condone any kind of violence against others. While I am an equal opportunity jokester, and my friends know what is in my heart, even in a comedy club this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context.”

He'll be back on the small screen tonight following a stop by Martha Stewart, and may welcome special guest Stephen Colbert on Friday - Jimmy and his team are trying to raise $26,000 in the next three days for charity in order to get Stephen in their studio to perform Rebecca Black's "Friday"! Jimmy, who recently added another job to his plate as the virtual guide of a new tour at Universal Studios, has also recently gotten into the food business. His Late Night Snack from Ben and Jerry's is a hit, counting even supermodel Brooklyn Decker among the fans.

Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin had the honor of cutting a big cake in the shape of 30 Rockefeller Plaza last night as they celebrated the 100th episode of 30 Rock. The duo was joined by Tracy Morgan and Jane Krakowski, who says her pregnancy has made her trendier than ever, and other stars of the show. The celebration wasn't held in the iconic Manhattan building, but across the river at Queens's Silvercup Studios where much of the series is shot. TIna and her cast were the ones celebrating the momentous occasion, but it turns out fans are getting a present too with a special one-hour episode on April 21! It's been a busy few days for Tina in particular, as she balances filming with her philanthropy and writing careers. We weren't treated to a new installment last night, but hopefully they'll be back to owning the Thursday NBC lineup next week.

Sundance Snapshot: Channing Tatum Shows His Chops in The Son of No One

Though my time at the Sundance Film Festival is winding down, I've still got plenty of goodies to share with you all. The Son of No One piqued my interest for its star-studded cast, and though the cop thriller wasn't my favorite of the festival's offerings, it's not without its merits. Here's how the film measures up.

Who's behind it? Dito Montiel (Fighting, A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints) wrote and directed the film, which stars Channing Tatum, Katie Holmes, Al Pacino, and Tracy Morgan.
What's it about? The film captures two different times in the life of Jonathan White (Tatum). In 2002, he's living in Staten Island with his wife (Holmes) and young daughter. He commutes two hours a day to work as a rookie in the police force, and his personal life and career are put into peril when he starts receiving threatening messages about his haunting past. The other half of the movie shows Jonathan as a young boy living in the projects, and the audience soon learns that the older Jonathan has some serious skeletons in his closet that could destroy everything he's built.

The Son of No One is a run-of-the-mill cop thriller. The film is largely focused on themes we've seen before like police corruption and post-9/11 repercussions, and like many other films of its genre, it values violence over character enrichment. Though it doesn't break any new ground, it's still engaging as both a thriller and a mystery. The script could have benefited from more character development, particularly for Katie Holmes, who does little more than toss glaring looks and accusations at Tatum. With that said, I was impressed with Tatum's performance as Jonathan. As the film's leading man, Tatum brings enough intensity and compassion to carry the film. Tracy Morgan's serious turn as a troubled friend from Jonathan's past also caught my attention: it's not a big enough role to really stand up and take notice, but it definitely left me wanting to see more of Morgan outside of his 30 Rock bubble.

The Son of No One Trailer: Katie Holmes and Channing Tatum Get Gritty

We're covering the Sundance Film Festival from Park City, and even if you can't be there too, you can still get a peek at some of the films that'll be premiering at the festival. Case in point: The Son of No One trailer has just dropped, starring Channing Tatum, Katie Holmes, Al Pacino, and Tracy Morgan. Tatum heads up the stellar cast (Juliette Binoche and Ray Liotta also star) as a young cop assigned to work in the New York City neighborhood he grew up in. Though he works hard and tries to live a decent life with his family (Holmes plays his wife), a huge secret in his past is still chasing him.

Tatum has gone dark and dramatic before (the director of this film, Dito Monteil, also cast Tatum in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints), but the real surprise is seeing Morgan, as a childhood friend of Tatum's, get serious. There's a foreboding feel to the thriller, and I'm curious to find out what you think, so watch when you

Liev Schreiber and Ewan McGregor added a little manjoyment to last night's "Darker Side of Green" debate series moderated by Tracy Morgan at the Bowery Hotel in NYC. The previous event, which was in LA, brought out other stars like Andy Samberg and Kristen Bell two weeks ago. While Liev's Salt costar Angelina Jolie is off handling the press duties abroad, he was happy to chat about his experience working with her. He said, "I was very surprised by how normal she is, and how easy she is to work with." He also shared about how his kids, Sasha and Kai, got along with the six Jolie-Pitt children, saying, "There were playdates, which were amazingly fun." Accompanying the guys was Michelle Trachtenberg, who was on a break from shooting Gossip Girl. She weighed in on her former costar Taylor Momsen's outrageous rocker style, saying, "Oh goodness! I wish I had the legs to rock those styles."

The stars gathered in Washington DC on Saturday night for the White House Correspondents' Dinner, where Jay Leno served as the evening's entertainment when President Obama wasn't cracking up the crowd himself. Jessica Simpson hit the red carpet in a bright yellow dress, while Scarlett Johansson arrived from LA with her politically active twin brother, Hunter. Jessica Alba wrapped up her duties as a Tribeca Film Festival juror to go with her husband Cash Warren, and Kim Kardashian wore her mother's vintage Valentino gown after deciding to put her hair up in a bun.

After the dinner were the post-parties, with the Bloomberg/Vanity Fair bash at the French Ambassador's residence bringing out celebs like Anna Kendrick and Glee's Matthew Morrison. Joe Simpson left Jessica's side to mingle with Jeremy Renner, who was linked to Jess just a few months ago. Jessica expressed her love for Michelle Obama but didn't have much to say about her current romantic status, commenting, "I have some situations that I am feeling out." She moved on to an event sponsored by People to join Gabourey Sidibe. Sex and the City 2's Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, meanwhile, posed together, while Justin Bieber caught up with "his girlfriend" Kim. Jessica managed to avoid a run-in with her ex Tony Romo, who got a head start on the good times Friday night at an event with his girlfriend Candice Crawford and her famous brother, Chace.
