Nelson Mandela Throws a Party 90 Years in the Making

It was a 90th birthday party to remember for Nelson Mandela, who went big for his star-studded celebration in London's Hyde Park yesterday. Will Smith managed to tear himself away from his non-stop promotional tour of Hancock to catch up with his buddies Robert de Niro, Forest Whitaker and Denzel Washington, and of course to spend some time with Jada. There was no sign of Amy Winehouse, but Naomi Campbell was happy to provide the drama, showing up even though Nelson personally requested she be removed from the guest list after her recent legal issues.

Cashmere Girls Join Dita at Paris Fashion Week

They may not be exuding fabulous quite like the side-by-side trio of Dita, Claudia, and Posh but two of the three were still hanging around the Paris Spring couture shows this week joined by some fresh faces. Posh is back in the UK performing, but has been replaced by the always adorable Lucy Liu and Blake Lively. Looks like at least one Gossip Girl is taking her new role as a budding fashionista quite seriously. Dita, of course, looked impeccable in the front row with her new fashion buddies. The ladies were there for the Valentino and Jean Paul Gaultier shows. Blake dressed a little bit quirky and a little bit cute for the surely nerve-wracking event, while Lucy continued to show off her tendency toward the unique, no doubt influenced by her new Patty Field Cashmere Mafia wardrobe. Juno, Sicko, Javier and Wild Big at Gotham Awards

In quintessential NY fashion, black ruled at the 17th annual Gotham Awards in Brooklyn last night. Maggie, Uma and Keri all went with it, leaving only Kerry Washington to brighten up the carpet in blue. Into the Wild and Sicko won the best film categories for feature film and documentary respectively. Juno's Ellen Page received the breakthrough acting award, finishing off what must have been an awesome day for the 20-year-old after her Independent Spirit Award nomination. Check out the full list of winners here. The night also featured tributes honoring Robert Ebert, Javier Bardem (who I can't look at the same way ever since I saw No Country for Old Men, but did look hot last night) and Mayor Bloomberg. Fashion Rocks London and Celebrity Party People

Music and fashion collided again at last night's Swarovski Fashion Rocks concert in London. September's NY Fashion Rocks was a different affair, but last night's party was just as star studded. This one played host for quite the group - from movie stars like Naomi, Liev and Uma to supermodels like Naomi (in her crazy unnecessarily see through dress) and bang-y Kate to musicians like Joss Stone and Iggy Pop. Um, I just hope Uma knew how sheer her dress was when she left the house. The musical invitees performed as couture showed on the runway and the rest of the room enjoyed the show. Must have been an incredible party inside. Talk about the most glamorous of rock star lives. Oh to be a fly on that wall, right?

Petra Hosts Her Happy Hearts in NYC

Last night Petra Nemcova's charity Happy Hearts hosted the Heart of Gold Ball in NYC. Bruce has been a long time supporter of Petra's charity but based on the rumors of these two, he may just be a supporter of Petra. Unfortunately for her, Bruce was not looking his coolest. The attire called for white or gold for the ladies while the men were simply told black tie. As you can tell, Tim Robbins took that to mean blue attire. He seemed to be in a particularly cheery mood. Perhaps something to do with the deal with Showtime?

Performer of the night, Wyclef went for a checkered black and white look while Eva Mendes looked gorgeous in white for a second night in a row. Check out Bella to see how to get her beautiful look. Petra looked very pleased with the turn out and we bet she raised some fabulous funds to help those children in need.
