VF Debuts Its Interview With Vampire Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson headed to Japan this weekend, as the cast of New Moon begins to promote the film before its release on Nov. 20. Earlier this year, Robert took a break from work on Remember Me to pose at a photo shoot for December's Vanity Fair - and here's a peek at the final product! We also have a preview from Rob's interview, in which he opens up about Kristen, their rumored romance, and all the attention he receives. Here's more:

On Kristen: "She’s influenced how I've done all the Twilight stuff. It's quite nice to have someone who is genuinely indifferent to the whole spectacle of everything."
On rumors of their relationship: "It doesn't make any difference what you say. . . . I've literally been across the country [from Kristen], and it’s like 'Oh, they were on secret dates!' It's like 'Where? I can't get out of my hotel room!'"
On all the uproar surrounding him: "I guess I'm not the type of guy cut out to do a franchise . . . I'm not much of a crowd person."

Rachel Bilson and Kristen Bell slipped on their charity t-shirts and headed out to a Guess, Vanity Fair, and Invisible Children event in LA last night - check out how to get Kristen and Rachel's looks here. Rachel divulged a few details on her upcoming How I Met Your Mother appearance - stay tuned for that on PopSugar Rush - and how much she loves her new Philip Lim bag. When asked about tying the knot, Rachel just said there's "no planning. Not yet." Kristen chatted a bit about her Halloween plans, or lack thereof at this point, despite being a big fan of the holiday. Inside the bash, the girls hung out together and mingled with the crowd during their Thursday night out to support the cause.

Take a Trip Down Memory Lane With the Twilight Kids in Vanity Fair

One of our very first posts on Twilight was last year when the whole gang struck a few poses for Vanity Fair. It was nearly 12 months ago that we had a peek at those photos, but a few of the outtakes are finding a second life on the Internet today - including one in which Robert and Kristen lovingly pose together and kiss. Soon we'll be seeing them together again on the upcoming Harper's Bazaar cover. It's a whole different world now that they're megastars and we spend so much time wondering if Rob and Kristen are truly together, but it's fun to take a look back at the actors as their wild ride was just beginning.

Penelope Cruz Has Two Things to Talk About in Vanity Fair

Penelope Cruz has made headlines lately due to speculation over her possible pregnancy, but she's on the cover of November's Vanity Fair to discuss her two upcoming films, Nine and Broken Embraces. She showed off her sexy back and even touched on Javier Bardem, revealing that he's the superior air guitarist in the relationship. Here's more:

On being a worrier: "I've always been a worrier. Since I was a little girl I've always felt that if I had a moment of peace I'd wonder: Are you sure you can afford to feel like this?"
On working with Almodovar again: "Pedro would push me to the limit. He really knows how to press all my buttons. You can only go into something like that when it's somebody you really trust. I always feel like he's my safety net. Like I can fly and go far, because he's going to catch me. The biggest [panic] attack I had during the movie was the scene where, for the first time, Lena [her character] makes the decision to try to become an actress. I don't know what happened to me that day, but before and after we filmed I could not breathe."
On hanging out at her mom Encarna's hair salon as a child: "It was my first acting school. I would pretend to be doing my homework, but I was really observing the women. I found their behavior mesmerizing - what they were hiding, how they left feeling a little different after they'd been helped to become a little more like whom they wanted to look like. They treated the place a little bit like a psychologist's office."
On comparing kissing Scarlett Johansson and Charlize Theron in movies: "No matter how I answer that I will be in trouble. Both were pretty beautiful partners."

Johnny Depp Shares His Island and Happiness With Vanity Fair

Johnny Depp is on the cover of July's Vanity Fair, and inside he opens up about his new movie, Public Enemies, his family, and his private Caribbean island called Little Hall's Pond Cay. He took one of the magazine's writers along for a trip to the area, sharing details about the joy he finds just being there. Here's more:

On his private island, Little Hall’s Pond Cay "I don’t think I'd ever seen any place so pure and beautiful . . . You can feel your pulse rate drop about 20 beats. It's instant freedom. And that rare beast - simplicity - can be had. And a little morsel of anonymity . . . Whenever I was getting frustrated about being 'novelty boy' and making movies, I told myself, Calm down. I can come down here and disappear. I spent the Christmas season here with Vanessa and the kids. You can feed hot dogs to the nurse sharks in the Exumas - but it's best to not swim when doing it."
On his love of painting: "When I can focus on something like guitar or painting, I do . . . I started painting people I admire, like Kerouac, Bob Dylan, Nelson Algren, Marlon Brando, Patti Smith, my girl, my kids. I painted Hunter a couple of times. Keith Richards. What I love to do is paint people’s faces, y'know, their eyes. Because you want to find that emotion, see what’s going on behind their eyes."
On keeping the island for his family: "Nobody is going to ever ruin the Land and Sea Park. It's like a rare gem, a diamond. I look forward to my kids growing up on the island, spending months out of the year here . . . learning about sea life and how to protect sea life . . . and their kids growing up here, and so on . . . Theoretically, this place can add years to your life . . . Money doesn't buy you happiness. But it buys you a big enough yacht to sail right up to it."
On Tom Cruise's performance in Tropic Thunder: "That's the best I've ever seen Cruise." When asked if Cruise’s portrayal reminds Depp of any Hollywood executives, he says, "All of them."

Jessica Opens Up to VF About Tony, Nick and Her Dad

Jessica Simpson scored the June cover of Vanity Fair and looked pensive in her Mario Testino photo shoot for the magazine. In her interview Jess revealed she hasn't spoken to Nick Lachey in years and said Tony Romo watched a few episodes of Newlyweds and thought she was "cute." She also talked about her controversial relationship with her father and how she deals with criticism. Here's more:

On her father: "I can talk to my dad like he’s my manager, and put ‘Dad’ on the back burner. We’ve been doing it since I was 13. So, at this point, we’re in a good rhythm. A lot of people find it strange, but it’s the only way I know. And I don’t care to know another way, because it suits me. And we’ve done a pretty dang good job."
On being compared to Britney and Christina in her young career: "My album was different [from the others]. I released a ballad first. I wasn’t dancing and doing that whole thing. I wanted to set myself apart. But I was always third runner-up."
On the Cowboys: "I was always a fan. In Texas, it’s a sin not to be. But I’ve never been as passionate as I am now. Before a game, I’m crazed, sending mass e-mails: ‘Please pray for Tony’s protection.’ ... We don’t let [the criticism from fans] affect our relationship. If we did, we wouldn’t be together, because it happened at the very beginning. Dating the Cowboys quarterback comes with hype, the fans, the bloggers, but I’ve never dated a guy that was more simple. I’m always there for him after a game, and he knows he has me to come home to."
On her future: "I’ve never let a stumbling block actually make me fall ... There will always be another opportunity, another door to walk through. "

Gisele Strips Down and Talks About Tom, John, and Leo

Gisele Bundchen shows off all of her glowing skin on the May cover of Vanity Fair. In the interview, the supermodel has a lot to say about her new husband Tom Brady and her stepson John. While her words might cause some controversy, it sounds like it's all coming from the love in her heart. Here's more:

On falling in love with Tom: "I knew right away - the first time I saw him. We met through a friend. The moment I saw him, he smiled and I was like, That is the most beautiful, charismatic smile I’ve ever seen! We sat and talked for three hours. I had to go home for Christmas, but I didn’t want to leave. You know that feeling of, like, you can’t get enough? From the first day we met, we’ve never spent one day without speaking to each other."
On finding out Tom's ex was pregnant: "It was definitely a surprise for both of us. In the beginning you’re living this romantic fantasy; you’re thinking, This can’t be true, it’s so good! And then, Whoops-wake-up call! We were dating two and a half months when he found out, and it was a very challenging situation. Obviously, in the beginning, it’s not the ideal thing . . . I think it was a blessing, because otherwise I don’t think I would have known what he was made of, and he wouldn’t have known what I was made of . . . Our relationship has become so much stronger, and I think I wouldn’t be as certain as I am today if it weren’t for that."
On John: "I understand that he has a mom, and I respect that, but to me it’s not like because somebody else delivered him, that’s not my child. I feel it is, 100 percent. I want him to have a great relationship with his mom, because that’s important, but I love him the same way as if he were mine. I already feel like he’s my son, from the first day."

On Leo: "Leo is a really wonderful person. We still speak sometimes, and I’m friends with his mom. He still has one of my dogs. He’s done a lot for the environment, and I admire what he’s done. We know what we had; we were very young, and we grew together in a lot of ways. We were just not meant to be boyfriend and girlfriend, but I respect him enormously, and I wish him nothing but the best."
On her future: "I would like a big family. I love children. When you come from a big family, you see that growing up you’re learning how to share. Your sisters have got your back; you’re not alone in this-‘We all support you!’ Your family provides that; it gives you a sense of safety, and it’s a very grounding feeling. That’s why I feel I can fly away, because I have those roots and they’re so deep. This is what I want to have in my life. This is why you get married-you want to create those roots together; you want to give that to your kids. I would also love to adopt a child from Brazil. When you come from São Paulo, you see five-year-olds sniffing glue on the corner. You think, If you make a difference in the life of one of them, that makes your time on this earth worthwhile. I will have a colorful family, like a rainbow. I have dogs from rescue; they are all my dogs. Children are like little angels-there’s no way you can’t love them."

Gisele also reveals that she was engaged a lot longer than people suspected, while raving about Tom throughout the interview. The couple have a second wedding coming up this Friday, and it sounds like newlywed bliss came even before they said "I do."
