W Magazine threw a party to celebrate its Best Performances Issue at the Chateau Marmont in LA last night. Brad Pitt and Charlize Theron are featured on two separate covers for the publication, though there are plenty more award season contenders inside the pages. In attendance yesterday were Emma Stone, in Lanvin, Elizabeth Olsen, Rachel Zoe, and more stars who have been making the rounds all week.

One new face on the carpet was Jessica Biel, who had no ring on her finger despite news that she and Justin Timberlake got engaged over the holidays. Jessica didn't stop to chat on her way into the bash, though we did share a few words with The Help's Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis. Octavia talked about almost missing the presentation of the best ensemble cast award at the Critics' Choice Awards, while Viola gave us some insight into how she prepares her speeches. Miranda Kerr also posed for cameras in a bright white dress after stepping out to celebrate her new role with Qantas and her husband Orlando Bloom's birthday this week.

Brad Pitt and Charlize Theron Bring Double the Glamour to W Magazine

Brad Pitt and Charlize Theron grace the cover of two separate W covers this February. Brad got casual in an undone black tie look while Charlize went glamorous in a brightly colored gown and jewels. Both Brad and Charlize are being recognized for their roles in Moneyball and Young Adult, respectively, this award season and have best actor and actress nominations at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards - make sure to fill out your Golden Globes ballot before the big show. In the publication's Best Performances Issue, Brad talks about his experience watching movies while Charlize shares a funny quirk she brought to her big-screen character, Mavis. Brad on crying at films: "I’m not much of a crier at films, but there was one . . . I was coming back from Cabo on my way to Montreal, and I got hit with Montezuma’s revenge. I could not keep anything down. I was stuck in a hotel room with no windows and was just doing what you do when you’re sick. On day two of this extremely painful episode, I watched a film called Life as a House. I don’t know if it would still hit me the same way, but on my 27th hour of pure wretchedness, this movie just crushed me."
Charlize on Mavis wearing bra inserts: "I wear those! If you don’t have boobs, you wear those cutlets. It’s just the most bizarre, unsexy thing there is - so I added that to Mavis."
Brad on whether it's difficult to watch himself die in a movie: "God, no. I’m just checking the boxes. Hit that. Missed that. Hit that moment. Missed that one. God, I’d like to do that one again."

Dakota and Elle Fanning Strike Stylish, Sisterly Poses For W Magazine

Dakota and Elle Fanning cozied up for the December cover of W Magazine. The sisters donned stylish looks and posed for photographer Mario Sorrenti in a glamorous spread that showcases their close connection. It's been a big year for the duo, who are both juggling school and their busy careers. Dakota recently moved on her own to NYC for college and Elle is gearing up for the holiday release of We Bought a Zoo while also attending high school. They opened up about becoming celebrities at such young ages and also touched on the perks of fame. Here's more from Dakota and Elle Fanning in W:

Dakota on being a celebrity at a young age: “It’s all I’ve ever experienced, and it’s what I’m used to. When you’re 6 years old, which is when I started, I think you start forming how you think about things. I’ve dealt with being known for so long that it’s just kind of normal to me. And that attention comes with what I love to do, which is act.”
Elle on being invited to the Chanel show in Paris: “Oh, yes! When I found out that I was invited to the Chanel show - that was the loudest I’ve ever screamed in my life. That was the best day of my life.”
Dakota on living on her own in college: “[I have] no roommates. Because I’m only 17, my mom is staying with me in my apartment for a little bit. She’s teaching me how to wash clothes and such. But I’m so excited to be on my own. In my house in L.A., we all feel that everything is everybody’s, and so doors are never really closed. My sister and I share a bathroom, and when you have a sibling, nothing is actually your own. I’ve never really had anything or any place that was just mine.”

Kristen Stewart Gets Gorgeous and Talks Twilight in W Magazine

Kristen Stewart is W's September cover girl! The Twilight star shows off a sultry look in dramatic makeup for the fashion mag as she gears up for the Fall release of the final installment in the series. Kristen already landed on the front of Entertainment Weekly in character with Robert Pattinson, and the costars were also shown getting intimate in another still from the movie. She recently switched gears to get to work on Snow White and the Huntsmen in London, but Kristen stayed focused on her vampire role during the interview. On vampires: "I f*cking love me a vampire. I was 17 when I read Twilight, and at the time it was so perfect for me. The script was about young kids who think they can handle stuff that they just can’t. And they’re going to do it anyway. Because, why not? Just torture yourself. I relate to that. Vampires are a little dangerous - and we girls like to test ourselves."
On growing up: "I have brothers, and that so-called boyish quality was something that I was deathly self-conscious about when I was younger. I was, like, No, I’m a girl. Actually, I’m still embarrassed to say that."
On filming the wedding scene in Breaking Dawn: "Awesome. This was my first wedding. It was insane. And odd. The wedding dress experience was a huge deal. I tried on one version of the dress, and it was like tweak and tweak and alter and tweak and change, and then it’s done. BFD dress. Huge deal."
On her last Twilight scene: "After that scene, my true final scene, I felt like I could shoot up into the night sky and every pore of my body would shoot light. I felt lighter than I’ve ever felt in my life.

Tilda Swinton Shows Off Her Subversive Style For W Magazine

Tilda Swinton has never been afraid of showing off her androgynous unique sense of style and her editorial for W magazine is no exception. The actress graced the front cover of its August issue decked out in a masculine-inspired Salvatore Ferragamo silk velvet tuxedo jacket, Acne trousers, Patricia Underwood for Chris Benz hat, and Sermoneta gloves complete with a matte face and daring red lips. Signature Tilda style, who appropriately cited her father as her fashion inspiration: “From childhood, I remember more about his black patent, gold livery, scarlet-striped legs, and medal ribbons than I do of my mother’s evening dresses," said Swinton. Penelope Cruz and Rachel McAdams Team Up For a Woody Tribute in W

The many muses of Woody Allen gathered for a photo spread in the June issue of W, which features Larry Crowne duo Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts on the cover and hits newsstands on the 24th. Woody is gearing up for the release of his latest big-screen effort, Midnight in Paris, tomorrow. He's jetted around the world for premieres with the film's stars Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams. Michael Sheen, who spoke about real-life girlfriend Rachel at last night's LA screening, has also been part of their entourage. Rachel is the latest leading lady to win the cinematic heart of Woody. Others, like Vicky Cristina Barcelona's Penelope Cruz and You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger's Naomi Watts, also paid tribute to the filmmaker in the issue. Penelope had nothing but kind words for Woody. She said, "I love a lot of things about Woody, but I really love his honesty and that there is no social bullsh*t. He only talks to you about what he thinks is important."

Mila Kunis strikes a sultry pose for the March cover of W Magazine. Inside the Spring Fashion Issue, which is on newstands Feb. 25, Mila lounges in lace and ruffles in a spread shot by Craig McDean. The Black Swan actress, who is also currently featured in LA Times Magazine, opened up to Lynn Hirschberg about training for the film, her acting career, and her beauty. Mila says she wasn't raised to think she was pretty, but the world seems to disagree since the guys voted her most desirable dream date in TrèsSugar's Valentine's Day survey with AskMen.com. On her looks: "I was never raised to think that I was pretty. It's not that I was raised to think I was unattractive, but it was just never something that was pointed out to me by my family. They would point out personality traits-'Our daughter is really quirky'-versus what I look like, because inevitably, looks go, so it makes no difference."
On her acting start: "I started acting when I was nine as a hobby because it was fun, and it allowed me to get out of school. The first thing I did was a Barbie commercial, and I got to keep the Barbie. That's all a kid wants."
On watching herself dance in Black Swan: "Before I started, I couldn't even lift my arm properly. I literally had no posture, so, yeah, the first time I saw the movie, my jaw dropped. I was like, Oh, my God-I don't suck. And it's great that the performance has been captured on film, because I will never put on those pointe shoes again."

Natalie, Javier, and Dakota Go Gorgeous and Dramatic For W's Movie Issue

Natalie Portman, Javier Bardem, Justin Timberlake, and Dakota Fanning are just a few of the huge names who posed for W's star-studded February Movie Issue. The cover also boasts the first look at Rooney Mara's dramatic transformation to become Lisbeth Salander for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. This weekend is packed with award season events, and we'll see some of these famous faces, including a pregnant Miss Portman, on a number of red carpets, starting this evening when we're broadcasting live from the Critics' Choice Awards - tune in here! Inside the magazine, the impressive set of actors talked about their favorite movies, experiences on set, and what made them choose this career. Here are highlights:

Natalie on Dirty Dancing: "The movie that I watched the most when I was growing up was Dirty Dancing. I always loved Penny, probably because I was really like Baby. I was a Jewish girl from a Jewish family, so of course I liked the tall, skinny blond girl."
Jesse Eisenberg on why he started acting: "I started acting to be included in a group, because I felt excluded in school. The ﬁnal product was out of my control, so it didn't really matter to me. I just liked being in a group of people that didn't kick my shin."
Javier Bardem on Biutiful: "My ﬁrst part was in The Ages of Lulu. I played a sadomasochist who killed people and created fun orgies. I'm a Method actor: I went to every orgy in the world."
Mila Kunis on Black Swan: "Before Black Swan, I had never danced in my life, and I will never dance again. I lost 20 pounds in three months, danced ﬁve hours a day, for seven days a week. I tore a ligament. I dislocated my shoulder. I have two scars on my back. It was worth every minute, but I will never put on toe shoes again."
Nicole Kidman on nudity: "I don't mind being naked. After having a baby, I'm not so sure now, but I enjoy not letting my issues get in the way of nudity."
