The stars of last night's American Music Awards hit the red carpet before heading inside LA's Nokia Theatre for the main event. Janet Jackson kicked things off with an energetic eight minute performance, and the evening's first award then went to the Black Eyed Peas. The Black Eyed Peas went on to take the stage to do "Boom Boom Pow" with a special Nirvana twist.

Whitney Houston took the stage in NYC for Good Morning America yesterday, and the outcome was more than a little shaky. Her voice was scratchy and she struggled to hit the high notes, which she said was a result of an emotional discussion with Oprah the day before. Whitney Houston held a listening party for her upcoming album in LA on Thursday night, with Halle Berry, Alicia Keys, and Clive Davis all coming out to show their support. It's been a long seven years since Whitney's last release, during which time she battled personal issues and went through a divorce from Bobby Brown. Here's the first single, "I Look To You," off her upcoming record of the same name.
