Billy Baldwin Joins Gossip Girl's Blake, Penn and Chace on Set

The March 8 return of Gossip Girl is still a couple weeks away, but Blake Lively, Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley were joined by new addition Billy Baldwin on the set in NYC yesterday. The cast recently got to enjoy a short break during which Chace and Blake headed to Miami with their costars Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr for Super Bowl and bikini fun. ABC All Stars Pose Hands-on-Hips and Party the Night Away

After spending a long day sitting on panels and fielding questions at the TCAs, the ABC and Disney stars got dressed up and hit the red carpet last night. Despite moving filming to NYC, the Ugly Betty beauties like Becki Newton (get her look here) were representing, even with no America Ferrera. Mixing our medical shows, Kate Walsh hung all over Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence celebrating life back on ABC. Nick Lachey didn't have Vanessa on his arm but looked handsome out promoting his High School Musical reality show. TCAs Get Private, Dirty, Desperate and a Little Bit Grey

Some of the big names at ABC hit the stage at the TCAs in LA this afternoon. Even though there was no specific Grey's Anatomy panel, the show was still the first thing on everyone's mind when Shonda Rhimes entered the room - check out all of that on Buzz. Sigh, love Peter Krause. As for Desperate Housewives, Eva's haircut is adorable in person, she got it since she was told to get a "mom" cut and didn't want to wear a wig, and we should expect to see her looking glamorous again by mid season. Mark Cherry also jokingly admitted how the 5 year flash forward got out, "I made the mistake of telling one of my actors, and the next thing I read it in the Times, going, 'Damn it, Marcia.'" Pilot Watch: "Dirty Sexy Money"

The networks have announced their fall schedules, but which of the series will actually be worth watching? Throughout the summer, as I watch the pilots, I'll be posting my first impressions. Note that a lot can change before a show actually makes it to air, so these aren't comprehensive reviews, just quick thoughts on how the shows look now. Today's installment: ABC's "Dirty Sexy Money."

What's it about? A lawyer takes over his dead father's job as the personal counsel to a rich, crazy New York family, getting sucked into a world he spent his childhood resenting.

Who's in it? Peter Krause of "Six Feet Under," Donald Sutherland, William Baldwin, Jill Clayburgh, Natalie Zea

The good: Considering the size of the cast, this pilot does an amazing job setting up the dark, decadent world of the Darlings without feeling heavy-handed. Where other pilots rely on expositionary dialogue ("but you're the best-selling author in history!"), "Dirty Sexy Money" has mastered the art of showing and not telling - one of my favorite touches was how the character of each Darling is revealed through a ring tone on Nick's cell phone.

The bad: This pilot does a great job of setting up the world of Nick and the Darlings, but it doesn't give me a great sense of how the show will be structured from week to week. I worry that the wacky Darlings, so amusingly quirky in the pilot, will be tiresome by a few weeks in.

Will I watch? Definitely. Krause alone was enough to get me to give the show a chance, but all the curveballs his character gets thrown in the second half of this pilot will keep me watching.

The Help's Win, Love For 30 Rock and Modern Family, a Scorsese Drinking Game - Highlights From the SAG Awards!

Michelle Williams was the first presenter at this evening's SAG Awards, handing the outstanding supporting actor statue to Christopher Plummer from Beginners. Octavia Spencer took home the corresponding statue for her work in The Help.

On the TV end, Alec Baldwin squealed with delight when he was named best actor in a comedic series, and an especially stunned Betty White, from Hot in Cleveland, dedicated her prize to her leading ladies Wendie Malick, Valerie Bertinelli, and Jane Leeves. The child actors from Modern Family, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez, and Nolan Gould, got a chance to take the podium when their series won outstanding cast in a comedy. Miniseries accolades went to two absent stars, Kate Winslet for Mildred Pierce and Paul Giamatti for Too Big to Fail.

Bridesmaids' Maya Rudolph, Kristin Wiig, and Melissa McCarthy brought some comedic relief when onstage introducing their film as a contender in the best ensemble category. The trio came to the stage armed with vodka, beer, and champagne, and introduced a drinking game based around the word "Scorsese." Jessica Lange then followed up on her Golden Globes win with another victory in the category of best dramatic actress on a TV series for American Horror Story. Steve Buscemi won an Actor for his leading role on HBO's Boardwalk Empire. TV ensemble in a drama honors went to Steve's whole cast, giving him an additional opportunity to invoke his producer Martin Scorsese's name as an excuse for a drink.

There was a slight upset in the best actor in a film category - The Artist's Jean Dujardin beat out Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Demián Bichir, and George Clooney. Viola Davis claimed the best female actor in a motion picture for The Help, and beamed from the stage in her Marchesa gown. Further acclaim went to the cast of Viola's movie, with their Actor statues being handed off by none other than Brad Pitt. Judy Greer and Regina King rose early in LA today to announce the nominees for the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards. There was lots of love for a few films in particular, including Moneyball, J. Edgar, The Descendants, and Bridesmaids!

Supporting actress nods went to five ladies, including The Help's Jessica Chastain and Bridesmaids' Melissa McCarthy, while J. Edgar's Armie Hammer and Moneyball's Jonah Hill got respective supporting actor nominations. The field for leading actress is particularly tight between Albert Nobbs's Glenn Close, The Help's Viola Davis, The Iron Lady's Meryl Streep, We Need to Talk About Kevin's Tilda Swinton, and My Week With Marilyn's Michelle Williams. Some of Hollywood's hottest guys are up for best actor, including George Clooney from The Descendants, Leonardo DiCaprio from J. Edgar, and Brad Pitt from Moneyball.

On the TV front, 30 Rock got lots of love with individual nods for Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. Kate Winslet was noticed for her work in Mildred Pierce. Announcing the 2012 Golden Globe Nominations!

Well, folks, we're finally getting into the heavy hitters of award season, as the 2012 Golden Globe nominees were announced this morning. As expected, award season darlings The Artist and The Descendants led the way with five nods apiece, but there are plenty of surprises here, too. George Clooney is going to have a big night, as his The Ides of March scored four nods, including one for him as a director. Ryan Gosling managed to score two nods for acting, for Crazy, Stupid, Love as well as Ides.

In the TV categories, new shows ruled as nods for New Girl, Game of Thrones, Boss, Episodes, Enlightened, and Homeland made the list - and that's not all. Zooey Deschanel scored a best actress nod, as did Mireille Enos for her work on The Killing and Laura Dern for Enlightened.
