Jon Hamm, Courteney Cox, and More Small-Screen Stars Step Out For the Critics' Choice Television Awards

Some of TV's most popular actors made appearances at today's inaugural Critics' Choice Television Awards. The festivities were held at the Beverly Hills Hotel to honor shows across categories that included reality, comedy, and drama. Cougar Town stars Courteney Cox and Busy Philipps were both on hand for the luncheon, and cable series were also well represented, with Sam Trammell attending ahead of True Blood's season four premiere on June 26. Jon Hamm and Christina Hendricks from Mad Men were also there, and she picked up the very first honor of the afternoon, splitting the award for best supporting actress in a drama series with Justified actor Margo Martindale. Jon followed suit shortly after when when he was announced as the winner of best lead actor in a drama series. Fans of the show have a while longer to wait before Don Draper and his cohorts return to TV. New episodes are expected to be absent from the airwaves until March of 2012, though filming resumes next month.

Laura Prepon (better known as Donna from That '70s Show is giving the small screen another go. The actress has been cast as 20-something Chelsea Handler in the upcoming NBC comedy series based on Handler's book Are You There Vodka? It's Me Chelsea. But Prepon definitely isn't the only That '70s Show alum who is getting a piece of the spotlight lately. The show has only been off the air for a handful of years, but look at how far the cast has come in such a short time.

GQ Toasts Men of the Year Like James, Taylor, Kellan, and More

GQ rounded up some of Hollywood's hottest men in LA last night to celebrate its annual Men of the Year issue. Taylor Lautner broke from hanging with his new lady friend to suit up for the black carpet along with James Franco, who mentioned that his mustache is for a new role. James Marsden looked dapper too, and he stopped to chat with us about how he'd nominate his wife for Babe of the Year. That honor has already gone to Scarlett Johansson, who you think deserves props for her look about as much as her Sexiest Man Alive husband, Ryan Reynolds. Scarlett and Ryan both skipped yesterday's party, but some other honorees from People's latest list turned out. Kellan Lutz covered his abs in a plaid Simon Spurr, and True Blood stud Joe Manganiello was likewise dressed up.

The fun continued inside the Chateau Marmont for some loved-up couples like Anna Faris and Chris Pratt, Channing Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan, and the recently married Dave Annable and Odette Yustman. Krysten Ritter celebrated wrapping up work with Kate Bosworth on BFF & Baby by saying hello to Sam Page, of Gossip Girl and Mad Men, while Aziz Ansari could hardly contain his enthusiasm at chilling with Jesse Eisenberg. Twilight's Taylor practiced his flirting with Jaime King, as Boardwalk Empire's Michael Pitt stuck by his costar Steve Buscemi. James Franco spent a minute chatting with Mark Ruffalo, who told us on the way in that he's thankful this year for being employed as a relatively older actor. In this trailer for The Dry Land, America Ferrera puts on a drawl as the wife of a US soldier (Ryan O'Nan) who returns from Iraq with the emotional scars of combat (think Brothers with more indie actors). Ferrera's now fiancé, Ryan Piers Williams, is the writer and director, which made me a tad skeptical at first - well, that and Wilmer Valderrama's involvement - but this looks like a fairly solid, high-tension drama. Wilmer Valderrama to Play Cesar Millan, The Dog Whisperer

From the department of spot-on casting comes the news that Wilmer Valderrama will play a character based on TV's dog whisperer, Cesar Millan.

Fox is producing the half-hour comedy, and though Valderrama's starring role is only based on Millan, the successful dog trainer, the resemblance between the two men is pretty uncanny. In any case, it's nice to see Valderrama getting a new project, since he really hasn't done much since That '70s Show.

The Ladies Heat Things up at MTV's Los Premios Awards

It's been a big week for Latin music, from the PBS Music Special with J. Lo to last night's Los Premios Awards honoring the best music of the genre. The event was hosted by MTV in LA, and the red carpet was full of gorgeous gals, from Alessandra Ambrosio, Ashley Tisdale, and Audrina Patridge to Kelly Osbourne - who do you think was the best dressed?

Nelly Furtado kicked off the show, which also brought out Pete Wentz, Snoop Dogg, Tommy Lee, and Dave Navarro. Selena Gomez was also on hand, looking sweet in her neutral-colored gown. Ashley Tisdale was another of the evening's performers, and Shakira even made an appearance via satellite.

Nicole and Joel Dip Their Toes Into the Green Pool

Nicole Richie got her hair and makeup all done up at the salon yesterday for good reason - she was on her way to the 18th Annual Environmental Media awards in LA. The awards honor TV shows and film that spread environmental awareness, so apparently Nicole and Joel are going beyond their efforts towards helping children and focusing on saving our planet as well.

According to Variety, the Weinsteins are making a bunch of their movies into stage musicals, starting with Finding Neverland, and later including Shakespeare in Love, Chocolat and Cinema Paradiso, among others.
Kevin Bacon is joining Renee Zellweger and Chris Noth in My One and Only, writes ComingSoon.
Sarah Silverman, Niecy Nash, Rashida Jones, and Norm McDonald are among the panelists for TBS's new version of Match Game, writes the Hollywood Reporter.
Annoyed with how slowly MTV has been moving on their movie, Motley Crue is looking for a new partner to help them get the project done, Billboard reports.

Wilmer Valderrama will star in a one-hour comedy pilot for Fox called The Emancipation of Ernesto, writes MediaWeek.
Viral video director Wayne McClammy is on a roll: in addition to directing Cool School, he just sold a comedy script to MGM and will most likely direct that one as well. According to Variety, his movie is titled Le Car and follows "an unconventional group of CIA agents."

TV Guide points out that the Sesame Street guest stars for next season - Jessica Alba, David Beckham, and Heidi Klum, among them - are pretty darn hot for a kids' show.

LG Brings the Likes of LC and LL Under One Roof

Last night Hollywood hosted the LG launch party for the Scarlet HD-TV series, and who better to celebrate than a few of our favorite stars of the small screen? As usual, The Hills gang had lots of representation from LC, Lo, Heidi and Spencer, with a little help from Kristin Cavallari. It wasn't all about reality TV though, as Milo Ventimiglia and Dave Annable added to the few cute male faces among the starlet-studded night. Of course, the bell of the ball was Lindsay Lohan, who turned heads in her hot blue dress. It's good to see that she took the night off from partying with Samantha Ronson, even if she seemed just a little out of place with the other stars on the red carpet.
