Michael Phelps Cleans Up at the Star-Studded ESPY Awards

Many celebs hit the red carpet last night at the ESPY awards in LA to honor the stars of the sports industry. Samuel L. Jackson was the evening's host, and he kept the audience laughing with his jokes about Twitter. Zachary Quinto took the stage looking dapper in his suit, while Miranda Kerr smiled for photos before the scary robbery at Orlando Bloom's house. Demi Moore was also on hand to present Michael Phelps with one of his five awards. It might not have been as snazzy as last year's Justin Timberlake's ESPY hosting gig, but the athletes and stars looked fantastic for the sports-filled night.

Michael wasn't the only one getting trophies - Hollywood's beloved Lakers won Best Team. Other presenters included Rashida Jones and Jeremy Piven, while funny men Andy Samberg and Seth Meyers watched alongside Billy Crudup. The festivities are set to air Sunday evening on ESPN.

BET Awards Honor Michael With Help From His Music, Family and Moves

The stars gathered in LA last night for the BET Awards where they paid tribute to Michael Jackson. Joe was on the red carpet talking about how much Michael would have appreciated the outpouring of love and support and once the show started Janet took the stage on behalf of the Jackson family. She said, "My entire family wanted to be here tonight, but it was just too painful so they elected me to speak with all of you. I would just like to say that to you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family, and he will forever live in all of our hearts. On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all your love; thank you for all your support." Jamie Foxx performed "I'll Be There" and showed off his attempt at MJ moves to "Beat It." The red carpet was full of beauty highlights and other performances included Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z, but there was no question that the night belonged to Michael amid so many rumors and stories surrounding his untimely passing.

Fergie Has Two Arms Full of Awards

It was a busy Wednesday night in LA for Fergie - in addition to hitting the red carpet at Us Weekly's Hot in Hollywood party, she also stopped by the 2009 ASCAP Pop Awards. She took home three honors for songwriting including Song of the Year for "Big Girls Don't Cry," but also gave props to Susan Boyle, saying, "She's amazing. I think she could definitely have a huge career. Her voice is lovely." Fergie has plenty of her own projects to work on right now, and perhaps these latest accolades will give her confidence boost as she tries to prove to the world that she's the next celebrity design mogul.

Celebs Keep the Ball Rolling as Inauguration Continues

All eyes were on Barack and Michelle Obama as they made their way around the inaugural ball circuit last night, but there were plenty of other stars out partying as well. Ben Affleck caught up with Jessica Alba at the Artist Making an Impact Dinner, while Jay-Z looked dapper in his suit and glasses making a stop at the BET Ball. Jay also caught the Obamas' first dance, where his wife Beyonce brought many to tears. Rihanna stood out in her sassy gold number at the Feeding America Inauguration Charity Ball, which Courteney, David, Tobey, and Jennifer also attended. It was a memorable day and night for the whole country, and it looks like those who were lucky enough to be in DC celebrated in style all night long.

Matt Damon Gets ONEXONE in SF Before Moving to NYC

Last night Matt Damon brought Luciana up north to San Francisco to raise funds and awareness for the ONEXONE organization. Wyclef Jean continued to be his partner and this time the duo was joined by David Arquette. Before the gala the threesome passed out grapes at a SF food bank. Matt spoke passionately at the event as well as spent a graciously long time on the red carpet. He talked about his commitment to helping the Obama campaign in its final weeks even though Damon is headed to Morocco to shoot. He said, "I'm sure I'll be on the phone over there after filming every night. I'll do telephone interviews or whatever they'll have me do. I want to sprint to the finish with the millions of us who really have been desperate for this change." Matt also revealed that he and Luciana are moving their family from Miami to NYC soon. Last night's event has been on the calendar for a while so it's a good thing his beloved Red Sox didn't make it to the World Series or he might have had to reschedule.

Matt and Wyclef Head to Haiti to Help After Ike

Matt Damon and Wyclef Jean were in Cabaret, Haiti on Saturday to distribute food and oil to people affected by Hurricane Ike. Wyclef has long been active in his home country, but he brought Matt along to attract attention to the region, which has been devastated after being hit by multiple storms this Summer. The charitable duo just left Toronto after the OneXOne gala, which benefited children's funds, so it seems as though Wyclef and Matt have a good thing going helping out together.

Matt Damon Cares About the Children More Than Ever

Matt Damon smiled right alongside the African Children's Choir at the OneXOne Gala in Toronto last night. Lat year Matt had Ben's big grin right there with him but this time Damon is rolling solo at the Toronto Film Festival. About the event and his commitment to it, Damon said, "At a certain point it becomes difficult to look at other children and not see your own. . . Something does change in you once you become a parent. . . There definitely is a shift there that makes you, I think, a little more obsessed about helping children. . . But it's not like before I had kids, I was like: 'to heck with those kids!"' I can't imagine Matt, who seems like the nicest guy in Hollywood, ever saying to heck with anyone, but it's clear that his newly expanded family of ladies have changed his already great big-hearted perspective for the better.

Mischa Heads Down Under For MTV Australia Awards

Between Mischa and Eve, it was all about the legs, legs, legs at the MTV Australia Awards on Saturday night in Sydney. Mischa bared her stems but kept warm up top with an odd vest as she presented Matt Damon the award for Movie Star of the year, which he accepted via satellite. Leona Lewis, who was awesome on Idol last week, didn't walk away with any awards but certainly looked pretty. Oh those Kardashian sisters, always being places. MTV rang in the New Year with another star-studded party in their studio overlooking Times Square. Not only did the revelers have a prime spot to view the ball drop, but they were treated to performances by Kid Rock (with Rev Run), Mary J. Blige, Good Charlotte and more. I guess that means Joel didn't get to start the new year with a kiss from Nicole, but I'm sure he'll make up for it back in LA. Cutie VJ Damien Fahey looked dapper in his three piece suit for the big night. The hostess of the party was Tila Tequila, who took the opportunity to announce that her first shot at love didn't work out and she's doing another season of her reality dating show. Who's excited?
