Sugar Bits - Grey's Justin Chambers Checks into Psych Ward

Grey's Anatomy star Justin Chambers voluntarily checked into the psych ward at UCLA Medical Center, the same place Britney is being held, on Monday because he suffers from a sleep disorder; he was released on Wednesday. Even though he's familiar with Seattle Grace, being in the real hospital is not pleasant so hopefully he's feeling better already. - TMZ

Yahoo! Online Music Store Launches

I am currently a huge fan of iTunes and I can't imagine a day without my shuffle (or at least the image of Ryan Phillippe walking down the street with his shuffle). Anyway, Yahoo has launched a music subscription site so I can download music for cheaper than Napster or Real and even iTunes. The only problem for me, I can't use it yet since I am on a mac.

Yahoo has found major success as a search engine and mail server so it is only natural that they challenge the already existing download services. Ian C Rogers had the best review so far. The review includes, Pro and Cons, techy geeky stuff, and even some interesting conversation bits for your upcoming weekend.

Hopefully as a loyal (VERY loyal) mac user I will one day be able to benefit from Yahoo!'s new music service.

Jessica sang 500 names for "Custom Cuts," and now fans can download their name into the second verse of Public Affair. You might think personalized media is just a sales gimmick... and it is, but it's catching on very fast. Here's more:

In what might be termed a first in "addressable" music marketing, Ms. Simpson and her backup singers have sung 500 first names to be selected by fans buying her latest song "Public Affair." Selling at $1.99, Ms. Simpson's "Custom Cuts" is the first of its kind for Yahoo's digital music download service. Fans can visit the Yahoo website and select their own names to be inserted into the download during the song's second verse.

Ms. Simpson may have lost her voice, but that didn't stop her from throwing a rollerskating party to celebrate the release of A Public Affair (with obvious help from Yahoo). Of course BFF Ken was right by her side helping her stay up on her skates. Guess she's not as good at skating as she appears to be in her video for the first single. Lohan's Got a Brand New BFF

It's been a few weeks since we've seen Lindsay Lohan with her once-BFF Samantha Ronson, and apparently LL's found herself a brand new sidekick. She grabbed some lunch at La Scala on Monday with Courtenay Semel, who you may remember from the reality show about rich kids at a cattle ranch. Courtenay's daddy is Terry Semel, the Hollywood big-shot who most recently was the CEO of Yahoo. Supposedly the two girls have been inseparable in the past few weeks, hitting up parties together and maybe even living together. As long as Lindsay stays out of trouble, we're all for her making some new friends. Besides, it's better than her hanging out with her annoying parents.

Britney's Younger Motivation, Late Night Calls To Kevin

After her Saturday night birthday celebration, Britney spent her actual big day playing with SP and JJ. By last night, she was back to the Four Seasons. One of the bigger stories about Britney last week was why she was 12 hours late to shoot the video for her next single, "Piece of Me." At the time, the excuse for her tardiness was that she had her boys and Kevin refused to change visiting ours, but now Page Six is now reporting she only showed up when Jive threatened to give the video to Samantha Jade, an up and coming artist. Apparently the location and dancers were pretty pricey and rather than waste them, the record label wanted to get a good video out of it. Understandably, Brit wasn't about to let some hot young thing take her place. The gossip column also reports that at her birthday party, Britney borrowed Paris Hilton's cell phone to call Kevin and invite him out. He declined the offer.

There's never a shortage of Britney stories and there's never a shortage of people who want to read about them. The pop tart has once again been named Yahoo's No. 1 most searched for person in 2007. She's held the title for six out of the past seven years, coming in at No. 2 for 2004 after Paris Hilton.

Paris Spreads Peace, Milo Smiles

Paris Hilton and Milo Ventimiglia provided the star power at last night's one year anniversary party for Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! Music. These two seem like an odd duo together, but I'm sure they found all sorts of celebrity-important topics to gossip about inside the party. Paris was fresh off her interview with Ellen and ready to party while Milo looked like he was dressed for a business meeting. A handsome business meeting. On the red carpet, Paris stopped to keep talking about how pregnant Nicole makes her want babies. She said, "Nicole and I have been playing together since we were two years old...I was just telling her, 'I want a baby so that our babies can play together.'" Thankfully, she followed it up by saying that she has no one she wants to start a family with now. What, Mr. Model isn't dad material?
