Zac Efron lends his voice to the big screen in the upcoming adaption of Dr. Seuss's The Lorax. His character, Ted, is on the search for a tree to impress his love interest, Audrey, played by Taylor Swift, in the colorful, 3D animated film. We sat down with Zac recently and he shared what it was like to record in the studio and a few stories about his upcoming project, The Paperboy, with Matthew McConaughey! Zac Efron Shows Off His New Tattoo and Celebrates New Year's Eve in Japan

Zac Efron hosted a screening of his latest film, New Year's Eve last night, before sitting down with press this morning in Tokyo. The romantic comedy took the top place at the box office last weekend, though Zac and his costars will have some stiff competition this weekend when Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol join the mix of holiday offerings.

Zac debuted his latest tattoo on his right hand during today's promotional appearance. The YOLO design reportedly stands for "you only live once," and it joins a hot feather tattoo inked inside Zac's bicep. Zac's arm muscles and six-pack make him a serious contender for the hottest shirtless star of 2011. He topped our shirtless bracket over the Summer, but he'll need your votes if he's going to overtake the current poll leader, Robert Pattinson.

Zac Efron touched down in Narita, Japan early this morning after catching a flight from LAX last night. He's visiting Asia on behalf of his latest release, New Year's Eve. Garry Marshall's ensemble comedy had a slow start at the box office over the weekend, raking in only $13.7 million, but nonetheless managed to lock down the number one spot. Zac's successful 12 months earned him a coveted spot on our sexiest men of 2011 poll - have you voted yet? Zac also ranked among our favorite shirtless stars, and, judging from his new trailer for 2012's The Lucky One, has a good chance of being in the running next year as well.

The Lucky One Trailer: Zac Efron Returns From War to Romance His Good-Luck Charm

It's been a while since we've seen a Nicholas Sparks adaptation, but the wait is over with The Lucky One, which has every Sparks element we've come to expect: soap, sex, and plenty of cheese. Zac Efron stars as Logan Thibault, a soldier who has just returned home after fighting overseas. He credits his survival at war to one object: a photograph of a woman he randomly found in battle. When he comes back to the states, his one goal is to find the girl in the picture. He has no trouble locating Beth (Taylor Schilling), a young single mother who has plenty of her own problems, including a lowlife ex.

Logan doesn't tell Beth how he "knows" her, which you know will lead to some sort of conflict for the budding couple, which you know they'll get past so they can roll around in the softly lit hay. How do we know this? Because we all know what happens in a Nicholas Sparks movie. Still, if you need a syrupy sweet trailer fix (bonus: no shirt on Efron toward the end of the trailer. Zac Efron Brings His Best Holiday Game to Jimmy Fallon

Zac Efron suited up for an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon in NYC last night. Zac was there to talk about New Year's Eve, which hits theaters tomorrow, but the interview took a fun turn when Jimmy asked Zac to play a festive basketball game. Zac and Jimmy went head-to-head in a shoot out, though instead of basketballs they used holiday items like mini Christmas trees. Jimmy ended up winning the match, but Zac was a good sport about the loss.

Zac threw on a tie later in the evening to attend the premiere of New Year's Eve with Jessica Biel, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Sarah Jessica Parker. Zac and Michelle also shared the red carpet at Monday's LA screening, but their costars Ashton Kutcher and Lea Michelle managed to steal much of the attention with their flirtatious behavior. Zac's the one taking the spotlight in our favorite shirtless star of 2011 poll, though, since he's got the most votes behind Robert Pattinson.
