Brad and Angelina Join Fellow Nominees at the BAFTAs
On Sunday many familiar faces from this award season went to London to walk the red carpet in the rain at the BAFTAs. Angelina Jolie mixed it up with a splash of yellow while Brad Pitt wore a classic tux. Kate Winslet took home the Leading Actress trophy for The Reader while Penelope Cruz finally won Best Supporting Actress.

Penelope is the first acting Oscar winner to make it back here tonight. After answering a number of questions in Spanish and translating her onstage thank you to all the actors from her country. She said she was about to call Woody Allen and that they're good friends.
The "Berry" BAFTA/LA Cunard Brittania Awards
The BAFTA/LA Cunard awards are quite popular with the ladies. Halle stood out in her hot pink dress while Rachel Weisz, Kate Walsh and Robin Wright Penn also got all dolled up for the big event last night in L.A. The big winner of the evening was Clint Eastwood who took home BAFTA's Stanley Kubrick Brittania Award for Excellence in Film.
Sugar Bits — Sandra Bullock and Husband Hit by Drunk Driver
- A car carrying Sandra Bullock and her husband Jesse James was involved in a head-on collision with a drunken driver on Friday night in Gloucester, Mass., where Sandra has been filming The Proposal. Fortunately, no one was injured. — AP

Award season rolls on both in the states and overseas with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards in London last night. Don't Johnny Depp and Tim Burton looked thrilled at yet another screening of Sweeney Todd? The duo hit the black carpet in Paris yesterday, but you would think there would be a little more excitement from the Golden Globe winners and new double BAFTA nominees. Even if he can't give us a smile, at least Johnny opened up a bit about his big win, saying, "I was very surprised certainly.

This weekend turned out to have something for everyone in terms of award shows. While The Grammys and The BAFTAS seemed to have stolen the show so to speak in terms of flash and star power, it's also important to remember who makes it all happen. The writers!
