First, it broke the midnight opening record, then it plowed through the single day one, now New Moon is estimated to round out the weekend with $140.7 million, which will make it the third biggest of all time. The cast promoted the movie tirelessly, but for this the credit goes to their amazing and loyal fan base! Robert, Kristen, Taylor and all their costars now have a moment to rest, relax with friends and enjoy the success of their latest piece of the saga. New Moon Breaks Midnight Box Office Record!

It's official - all that promotion paid off! Summit Entertainment just released the news that New Moon had the biggest midnight opening of all time, raking in an estimated $26.27 million last night! It beat out Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as well as The Dark Knight. Congratulations to Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and the rest of the cast - well-deserved partying indeed. Box Office Roundup - Museum Trumps Happyness

Pursuit of Happyness may be getting great reviews, but they weren't enough to keep the film at the top again this weekend. However, this didn't stop Thandie from celebrating this holiday in London. As for the top spot, Ben Stiller's Night at the Museum debuted at #1 taking in just over $30 million. Pursuit came in at #2 with $15 M. It's hard to compete with a film that's safe to take the whole family to. Rounding out the top 5 are Rocky Balboa with $12.5 M, The Good Shepherd with $10 M and We Are Marshall with $6.6 M.

New Details From Robert and Kristen's Romantic NY Weekend

New Moon cleaned up at the weekend box office, so naturally Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson let off a little steam after their many weeks of travel promoting the film. We already heard the duo skipped out on Thursday's official afterparty for something more private, and they were spotted at the members-only Soho House before moving on to the club Avenue - where People reports they were spotted making out! The togetherness continued with Friday's trip to La Esquina, a late Saturday night at the Upper West Side spot Dive Bar, and dinner last night at Megu. Robert was the only one photographed leaving their meal, which some speculate was just a gentlemanly diversion to give Kristen some privacy as she exited through the back. Amazing!

Ashley and Kellan Wrap Up Work on Record-Setting New Moon

After all of last week's excitement over New Moon, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz still had some final work and travel to do. She headed to Woodridge, IL for one more screening of their film on Friday, while Kellan took off from NYC to LAX following their late night out celebrating. Ashley, Kellan and all their costars got a very pleasant surprise this weekend when their movie broke all sorts of box office records, but after all their hard work they should be ready for some relaxation.

Robert Pattinson spent his Friday night out in NYC at dinner at La Esquina, still smiling after a rigorous few weeks promoting New Moon around the world. The night before he attended one final screening of the movie before sneaking off to a private afterparty with Kristen Stewart.
