While David Tennant and John Barrowman showed their love for each other at Comic-Con in San Diego at the weekend, there were plenty of other celebs out promoting their upcoming movies and TV shows. Lost, Heroes, Dollhouse and Chuck all had stars attending and mixing with fans, while movie stars Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis and many more glammed up for the convention. Comic-Con Round-Up

I've been reporting from Comic-Con these past few days, but here's a hodgepodge of random extra bits and pieces from my weekend.

There was a panel I basically happened to attend by accident, which ended up being for this spooky-looking movie The Wolf Man, due in theaters April 3, 2009. Then, to everyone's surprise, the stars of the film, Benicio Del Toro and Emily Blunt, came onstage to talk about it. I'll post the trailer soon, so more on the movie itself later, but for now, how cute is this picture?!
The writers of The Office spoke to a packed house on Saturday, and while the 11 people on the panel (12 if you count moderator Rainn Wilson) felt like a few too many, there were plenty of funny moments, especially from BJ Novak, Michael Schur, and Mindy Kaling. I particularly liked this part of Novak's answer about why he likes writing for Michael Scott: "It's so interesting to see someone with authority be so innocent and so wrong."
Also a winner from that panel: Schur's description of how Dwight would act in the event of an actual robot invasion. "He would cross his arms in the middle of the street as the robots marched down the street, shaking his head and saying 'I told you so!'"
Yeah, the Heroes screening and Hugh Jackman appearance were cool - but one of my other favorite panels of the weekend was much, much smaller. On Friday, I got to hear some of the original voice actors from the classic Peanuts specials talk about what it was like to put together shows like A Charlie Brown Christmas and Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown. Several of the specials will be out on remastered, special-feature-laden DVDs this Fall, and I can't wait! Eventually, they're hoping to bring all the specials (more than 40 of them!) to DVD.
Also, some of the best trivia of the whole weekend came out of that panel: Did you know Fergie was once the voice of Charlie Brown's little sister, Sally? (For more Peanuts trivia, check out today's Brainteaser!)

Friday night’s bawdy session about Zack and Miri Make a Porno was moderated by Kevin Smith and included Seth Rogen, Elizabeth Banks, Traci Lords, and several others. The clip from the movie was pretty funny, mostly because of Rogen’s mugging and sarcasm. He's clearly cut out for Kevin Smith's style of comedy. At the panel, Elizabeth Banks had a funny comment when asked about what it was like to play Laura Bush after doing Zack and Miri: "Playing Laura Bush, it’s really just like playing a porn star. Just the hair is different." Rogen followed up with, "She wouldn’t even have to change her name." Yipes!
At the Chuck panel, moderator Kristin Dos Santos tried to get Zachary Levi and Joshua Gomez to repeat their 2007 feat of demonstrating an, er, compromising sexual position for the audience. They wouldn't do it - but did agree to reenact the moment with hand puppets. (See gallery for the image.)
Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright, and Jessica Hynes from Spaced were all over Comic-Con, doing interviews (stay tuned for mine!), panels, and signings to promote the US release of the complete series on DVD. They screened three beloved episodes on Friday night: "Art," "Epiphanies," and "Gone," the one with the finger gun fights. And, speaking of finger gun fights, they kicked off the screening with a gigantic one - Pegg speculated it was their biggest ever - with about 1,000 people participating.
Another smaller but still very cool moment of the trip came in the panel where several Disney artists showed how they created the storyboards for Bolt, the film about a TV superdog who thinks his powers are real. I'm still not sold on John Travolta as the voice of Bolt, but the drawings were adorable (see gallery) and the writing in the sequence we saw, in which some cats torture Bolt in his trailer, was totally clever.
The panel for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia was fun, but for some reason I thought it would be more so. One of the coolest parts was that Damon Lindelof, executive producer of Lost moderated the panel, and is apparently a huge fan of Always Sunny. Also, little trivia: Rob McElhenney ("Mac" on the show) once played an Other on Lost.
The final celebrity of my trip: Red Fraggle! She made a special appearance at Sunday's Fraggle Rock DVD panel to lead the crowd in a sing-along of "The Beatle Song" and a recitation of the Solemn Fraggle Oath ("weeba weeba, woppa woppa, garpox gumbidge, whoopee!"). It should be noted that the vast majority of the crowd was not, in fact, parents with children but folks in their mid-20s, gloriously reliving their childhood. (The hand claps on the first runthrough of the Fraggle Rock theme were completely spontaneous and perfectly in sync.)

NBC Closes Out the TCA Fun

The TCAs wrapped up on Monday with a few fabulous shows from NBC. Zachary Levi and Josh Schwartz revealed fun news about Nicole Richie's role on Chuck, including her very exciting shower fight scene. We also heard from Brooke Shields who's thrilled to get back to work on Lipstick Jungle, especially with Mary Tyler Moore playing her mom. Later in the day we checked in with the ladies of Kath and Kim. Hilarious Selma Blair and Molly Shannon joked about playing a mother-daughter pair being so close in age in real life, saying that they tried to get Dakota Fanning, but the next best was Selma. We can't wait to watch all these shows, both new and old in the Fall and until then, head over to Buzz for more news on the day.

Nicole Richie's Take Your Daughter To Work Day

Nicole Richie got to work on the set of Chuck in LA on Tuesday and she had a very special visitor - her baby daughter Harlow. The little one spent most of the time making funny faces and hanging out while Nicole was off shooting. It's super sweet to see this mommy daughter duo spending their day at work together, now is it too much to ask that little Harlow make her acting debut on the show, too? Look at that face - she's a star already.

Rachel Bilson's Chuck Debut Is Almost Here

Chuck was one of our favorite new fall shows but we have to admit it needs a pick me up. Luckily, it's about to happen. Next week is the official long-anticipated arrival of the adorable Rachel Bilson, and these stills from the show are only increasing our excitement. Of course, we're mostly excited to see that Rachel is still rockin' the same type of adorable wardrobe we saw during her O.C. days. Also, is it just us, or do she and Zachary Levi already look totally cute together? In fact, they would probably look just as good as an off-screen couple. Just saying.

R-Bils Gets To Work With Cute Zachary On Chuck

Rachel Bilson was on set (yay) filming Chuck over the weekend in LA. Adorable little Rachel joining the cast (even just temporarily...for now) must have been quite the birthday present for Zachary Levi, who turned 27 on Saturday and is definitely easy on the eyes in his own right. Rachel may have a little problem with dating her costars, but this is a pairing I could tooootally get behind. Ha, such wishful thinking I know. It looks like she got another great on set wardrobe to work with, ugh jealous. Chuck episode 2 airs tonight (yay again), but we have to wait a few more weeks to see R-Bils on the small screen on one of my, Buzz, Pop and your (yay third) favorite new shows!

Breaking News: Rachel Bilson's Back on TV!

OMG you guys... Josh Schwartz has answered our prayers! He has hired Rachel Bilson to be back on TV this fall. We have been begging for someone to give the cutest girl in Hollywood a job and we're happy to report it has finally happened. Best part yet - it's back with OC creator Josh Schwartz on one of our favorite new fall shows, CHUCK! You know, the one we told you we already had a crush on and we even suggested what a wonderful fit R-bils would be on the show! Well apparently Josh was listening (thank you) and Ms Bilson will be crushing on Chuck this fall as well. Best news this week, (well after that fight club reunion thing) but YAY!

Chuck is My New Crush

It's official. I have a new obsession. The super cute Zachary Levi is coming to NBC on Monday nights and my TiVo is already set. Chuck is by far my favorite new NBC series. It is created by another favorite, Josh Schwartz (he did a little thing we LOVED called The O.C.). We are still holding out that the now saucy Rachel Bilson will somehow join this cast to make the ultimate best show EVER but Zach was so entertaining that I am warning you now, I will be writing about him a lot. He's a more suburban version of Seth Cohen in a show that is a cross between Alias and The Office (do I have your attention yet?). Oh and did I mention the adorable Zachary Levi is the title character?!? The Less Then Perfect actor (yeah, I never saw that ABC show either) looks better than ever. Pilot Watch: "Chuck"

The networks have announced their fall schedules, but which of the series will actually be worth watching? Throughout the summer, as I watch the pilots, I'll be posting my first impressions. Note that a lot can change before a show actually makes it to air, so these aren't comprehensive reviews, just quick thoughts on how the shows look now. Today's installment: NBC's "Chuck."

What's it about? A nerdy, socially awkward computer geek gets all of the nation's security secrets implanted into his brain.

Who's in it? Zachary Levi of "Less than Perfect," Yvonne Strzechowski, Joshua Gomez, Sarah Lancaster

The good: I was thoroughly entertained by this pilot's quirky premise, witty dialogue, and Seth Cohen-meets-"Alias" main character, who happens to be pretty easy on the eyes. The show comes from the mind of "The OC" creator Josh Schwartz, and his influence is obvious in the show's tone and its better lines ("This is not an X-Box, and you are not an X-Man.")

The bad: There's a fine line between irreverent and incomprehensible, and "Chuck" occasionally ends up on the wrong side of it. Some major plot points - like, say, "How did this guy's brain become a computer?" - aren't really explained.

Will I watch? Definitely. Despite my reservations, "Chuck" was one of the most appealing pilots I've seen so far.

Get a Sneak Peek at NBC's New Shows

We might have to wait till fall to see the full versions of NBC's new shows, but the network is giving you a preview now. Clips of four of the shows, including "Chuck" (photo above), have made their way to YouTube, and NBC has a bunch of goodies on its fall preview site. I also have a ton of photos for the new shows, and I can't wait to hear what you think.

"Journeyman"
