Tina Fey is kicking off 2009 in a big way with the January cover of Vanity Fair. She got all dressed up in red, white, and blue to honor her newfound political stardom and was happy to talk about what it was like playing and meeting Sarah Palin. The election wasn't the only thing on the 30 Rock creator's mind as she sat down with the magazine to chat about her upbringing, having more kids with her professional and personal partner Jeff Richmond, and even Lindsay Lohan.

The girls from The Hills sure do love their fashion lines. We've already seen a bunch from Lauren Conrad's collection, and today Heidi unveiled her discount designs from Heidiwood. Guess Whitney was starting to feel a little left out because she announced today that she's going to launch a line of her own for the Fall season.

It was a big night down under as Aussie celebs came out to celebrate the Australian Film Institute Awards in Melbourne. Cate Blanchett was in from Sydney, where she recently showed off her baby bump at a premiere, along with Eric Bana, who won the best actor and people's choice awards. Tara Reid, already in Australia to host parties at a discounted rate, scored a last-minute invite, saying, "I always pop up everywhere in Australia, like a jack-in-the-box."

As usual, Avril Lavigne didn't look too happy to see the paparazzi when she was out doing some discount Christmas shopping with her husband Deryck in LA on Wednesday. No matter whether it's around candid photographers or on the red carpet, Avril always seems pouty about having her picture taken and granting interviews. Obviously it's annoying to be followed around, but we can't help but feel like she is in a perpetually foul mood.

We're certainly not complaining about Lindsay Lohan going from one addiction to the next since we'd much rather see her shopping than boozing. Besides, a little retail therapy doesn't hurt anyone, especially when it's a discount store like H&M. The actress showed off her super blonde hair while picking up some treats at H&M —perhaps a little Roberto Cavalli for H&M?

Now that's more like it Adrian Grenier. Showers are our friends. After prying himself away from his Australian blondes, Adrian was back in LA keeping himself in shape with a jog over the weekend.

Even the Hilton hotels don't want Paris to stay at their place. Page Six reports:
The heiress, appearing on the "Real Radio Breakfast Show" in Scotland, tried on-air to reserve a room in her name at the Glasgow Hilton and get a discounted corporate rate. But the humorless reservations clerk who identified himself as Kevin turned her down, sniffing: "There is no discount I can initiate, I'm afraid" - insisting she'd have to pay the full $310 for a standard queen-sized room.
