The duo stopped by The Early Show for an interview and later met up again for a screening at night. Kate Hudson made a low-key trip the hair salon yesterday after a busy weekend of honoring heroes and attending award shows. Kate looked relaxed in her casual sportswear after her dress got a lot of attention at the American Music Awards on Sunday. Kate seemed to have a little trouble staying covered by her Versace number —styled by Rachel Zoe— as she and Nicole Kidman introduced their Nine costar Fergie and The Black Eyed Peas.

The Ladies Are Short, Long and Shiny on the AMA Red Carpet!
The 2009 American Music Awards descended on the Nokia Theatre in LA last night, which meant a star studded red carpet before the big show. It was a pleasant mixture of long and short dresses on all the ladies, though some even found a way to do both simultaneously like Rihanna in her cutout gown. Carrie Underwood has the early lead in Fab's best dressed poll, but Rih is close behind.

Tom Works Night and Day While Suri Shops With Katie
Katie Holmes left Long Island, where she had been working on The Romantics and headed into NYC for a weekend with Suri. The girls were out to see The Lion King on Friday night, with little Suri looking sleepy as they left the theater together. Saturday they bundled up in coats for a few long walks with Katie's mom, and Suri showed off her red dress from the children's Holmes and Yang and green backpack.
