Friday Night Lights, Thursday Night Party, Beautiful People

The cast of the best show you're not watching, Friday Night Lights, got together for a little party in Hollywood last night. Quite the group of lookers, eh? Adorable Minka Kelly and Aimee Teegarden both showed off their red carpet poses, though Miss Aimee could lose the jeans under her summer-y dress. Tim Riggins, er, Taylor Kitsch, steamed up the event with his scruff before sort of outing his friend Chase's relationship with Carrie Underwood (not like it was any big secret). I don't even really like long hair, but the boy makes it work. Meanwhile, Kyle Chandler can really do no wrong, ever. The show's on tonight, and there are still new episodes (well...two)! Seriously though, try it, you'll totally love it. I hear tonight is a real tear jerker.

Fall TV Preview: Friday Night Lights

The much anticipated new show, Friday Night Lights premieres tonight at 8/7c on NBC. The show is based on both the book and the movie of the same name and even has the same director, Peter Berg. So was it really necessary to make this into a TV show also? Anyone remember the disaster TV show that was based on one of the best movies of all time, Clueless?

For those of you who missed the movie, the show has the same premise in that it takes place in a small town in Texas that revolves around the high school football team. Coach Taylor has just been promoted to head coach and is under a lot of pressure by the townspeople to do well. The hands-down most exciting thing about this new show is Kyle Chandler as Coach Taylor. Kyle played Dylan, the hot bomb squad guy that got blown up last season on Grey's Anatomy! Just like in the movie, the star quarterback gets hurt at the end of the first episode and it seems that the rest of the season will tell the story of the rise of the second string quarterback and the trials and tribulations of the first time head coach. I actually enjoyed the pilot, but with all of the good new shows out this season, I feel like I've already seen this one before.

NBC All Star Party Includes Friday Night Lights Secrets

The hit stars from NBC's new shows and current shows came out last night to schmooze with the press as their two days at the TCAs came to a close. We saw the cast of Heroes (Ali Larter is gorgeous in person), Las Vegas (yay yummy Josh), John Stamos, The Hoff, all those adorable Friday Night Lights kids and their handsome coach. My new favorite, Zachary Levi from Chuck (more on him soon) won the Singing Bee competition. I was just happy to swoon over him singing on stage. Friday Night Lights Still Shining For Minka Kelly

Great news for Minka Kelly - so let's skip the whole here she is walking her dog in LA yesterday bit and go straight to the good stuff. Friday Night Lights may (fingers crossed!) be coming back for a third season. Most of the show's fans thought that it was dead in the water after the lackluster and totally depressing abrupt (due to the writers' strike) end to season two. The new season would be thanks to some deal NBC made with DirecTV, the details of which are still a mystery, but no matter what I'm happy. Yay for more Minka and yay for more FNL.

Rihanna and Chris Brown hit the clubs in Paris on Friday night after her Star Academy performance. The couple looked like they were having a blast with some light-up party favors. Rihanna was one of the sexiest women and the two together are among our favorite couples of '08. Things aren't slowing down anytime soon for the hot young things and considering how attached at the hip they are, Chris will probably be front and center to watch Rih when she takes the stage at a charity inauguration party.

Lauren Flies, But Isn't Going Anywhere For 5th Hills Season

On Friday night, Lauren Conrad was in Boston on her college fashion tour before returning to LA and immediately turning around and flying out of town again. Lauren was traveling light with her pair of Goyard bags, BlackBerry in hand as usual. While she has been reluctant about continuing her time on The Hills often saying that she's ready to do other things, Audrina confirmed that there will be a fifth season of the show. While we're still a few months ahead of the show in terms of the girls' real life drama, I'm sure they'll find a way to keep us hooked on watching the lives of these beautiful, fashionable LA ladies even without Whitney.
