Oct 25 2006 - 2:31pm Here are the home pictures of David that Madonna showed to Oprah and her audience this week. Isn't he adorable? Guy Ritchie and the kids look so happy to have him as a part of their family.
those pictures are absolutely adorable.
i feel bad for madonna, everyone is being so hard on her and all she wants to do is extend the life & opportunities that her children have to another child. i couldn't think of a better
use for her love & money...the life of a child.
I can see what she and Angelina have in common..the fact that the are both *using* poorn adopted babies to make up for their wild past..and try to pretend to be a good person..we all know how
Madonna is...
~*Maria*~
ok, Im confused, what had Madonna done to prove she is not a good person? I am not a Madgealunatic- but Im curious to know why everyone thinks shes faking to be a nice person?
I think it is a beautiful thing, maybe I see the good a bit too much sometimes?
I think it is wonderful that she has adopted David. He is gorgeous. Why would anyone deny a child a good home. I am not an Angie fan, but you have to admit - the love/homes/opportunity they
are giving to these children is wonderful.
I actually saw the Oprah interview and Madonna has stated that she did talk face to face with David's father. David's father said that he would have a better life with Madonna, and that if
David stayed in Africa, he (the father) would eventually bury him. She also needed permission/signature from one member of David's family AND she followed all proceedures. Now before you
knock her down, watch the interview clips.
make up for her bad past?? what bad past? you ppl must be kidding...
she isn't in her early 20's anymore and wants the whole family thing-it does happen to most ppl. good for her for being ready to take a chance and waiting until her marragige was on steady
ground before she did it.
david looks kind of cute in the smiling pic. i think madge's daughter is really getting pretty, she looks so much like her mom when she had brown hair.
I watched the whole interview and it reminds me of why I don't like to watch Oprah. What a wimp! Who was there to give a voice to the father's side of the story? Where were the tough
questions?
Madonna claims to be shocked... yes, SHOCKED, by the media controversy. Poor little waif from the country, so unfamiliar with those big city ways, after a career of manipulating media
controversy for her own benefit.
What she claims the father said is, "He looked into my eyes and said to me that he was very grateful that I was going to give his son a life, and that had he kept his son with him in the
village he would have buried him."
(through a translater, since they don't speak the same language)
Which I think is consistent with:
Time Magazine on its Web site carried an interview with the father, who is quoted as saying he will not insist that the boy be returned, though he did not understand the child would be gone
"for good" when he gave his permission to Madonna.
Sounds like a breakdown in communication, poor translation, over-enthusiastic government telling the peasant farmer father to trust them, and raging egomaniac popstar determined to get that
boy.
amen sister.
i normally like oprah but she needed to give madonna a bit more of the beat down she deserves...
instead it was just like a press conference for Madge...sick
I really hate this sort of interviewing.. its so popular right now.. the Jay Lenoism epidemic. I'll stroke you and you stroke me and oh don't we just look so wonderful stroking one another?
BBllech.
I think he's a cute kid and I'm a big advocate of adoption, but this reeks of Madonna trying to be the next Bono or Bob Geldof, and not what might be in the best interest for this boy.
The father knew a year ago that the boy's chances were slim if he stayed with him in the village, which is why he placed him in a home. So of course he's grateful of anyone helping feed and
educate his child.
Madonna also claims that nobody in the boy's family visited him since he was placed, but the Guardian newspaper (UK) has some pretty detailed articles about what the father and grandmother
went through to visit him regularly.
Hopefully somebody will do a legit interview with the father, and a good translator, to get to the bottom of this. Where's Anderson Cooper when you need him?
"give David an education and a chance for a better life" riiight..His father can give him that all you have to do Madgy Madge is give some of your cash to these poor families. But no thats
not how you do business right, because you'd do anything for publicity..old hag, go away already. You make me sick!
yeah.. i agree.. i dont see how ppl can look at her like shes a bad person, i personally dont like her music and think she should of retired a looong time ago but i really cnt look at
adopting a kid in a bad way
what difference does it make about madonna? she shouldnt be the issue! The issue should be that one way or another she is saving this child life and giving him a home and security! I wish
more people would adopt!
And I'm also wondering what is wrong with wanting to be the next Geldof or Bono? So she can make money out of charity? It just doesnt sounds logical. I think it's good that there are people
like Geldof and Bono, and there should be more of them. It's not that I'm a madonna fan, but I think she does something good. And I have the feeling that everyone beats her down not because
of the whole adoption thing, but just because it's madonna and she's not very loved.
Um, question. Is there any reason why these "celebs" are not adopting children from orphanages in the states or where they live?? Adopting any child is beautiful but it seems that adopting a
poor little child from Africa is the "in thing" to do these days.
he is so cute! I don't see how folks can call her a bad person for trying to do a good thing. I read this morning that his dad isn't gonna contest the adoption.
here we are putting people down that are actually trying to better a situation.
Her intensions are to have David fully aware of where he is from, who knows, maybe he will get older and want to do great things for Malawi, if he is Madonnas child he will eventually inherit
part of her fortune, I just can not see anything bad coming out of this.
I think more people should be as generous.
Just because Madonna has been openly sexual and a pr ho does not make her a bad person, there are many that follow her footsteps, are they bad too?
Adriana, how can David's birth father give him an education if Madonna throws some money at him? Please explain, because that made no sense at all to me.

11I'd rather see her trying to redeem herself for a wild past than just keep on making the same mistakes and being a rotten person.
Everyone deserves a chance to change and grow.
12Aww! He's gorgeous!

14The media ho sure casts some good spin.
She blames the media for this mess which she created. I believe her crocodile tears about as much as I believe her English accent.
15OMG..i just had to have him! cute toddler but is she talking about a Louis bag or a kid?
16lol ginger

24oh the ill suck yours if you swallow mine epidemic? yeah its gotten old. its even moved into politics now which is the most disgusting thing of all...
25Never ceases to amaze me how celebs who adopt always manage to pick the ones hit worst with the ugly stick.
(Commence: backlash!)

27i think it was for the best for so many reasons. come on, would he have ever been able to live with his dad if she hadn't adopted him?
do you really think that 20 years from now david will wish he had stayed in his country [in poverty] rather then get an education and live happily?
how many ppl would consider adopting a foster child for $4 a week after this press frenzy lol
28how cute is that baby!

36Because its waaay easier to get one from another country. Some celebs would never get passed for adoption in North America.
