Britney's Parents Worry For Her Safety

Britney's first night back out in LA was proof that the more things come out into the open, the more things stay the same for the pop tart. Following her afternoon of driving around and visiting the office of the lawyer that wants to remove her dad as conservator with Adnan, Britney and her boy checked into the Beverly Hills Hotel. Soon after, her parents released a statement to Anderson Cooper about the day's proceedings and Britney being allowed to leave the hospital. The statement read:

"As parents of an adult child in the throws of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe. We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk. There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."

Britney was apparently released early from UCLA because there was "no just cause" for her being held longer. According to TMZ, Britney's father is expected back in court tomorrow to request that he be given more power as her conservator. This could include his being able to control all her financial decisions (like hotel rooms) and who she spends time with (like bringing the paparazzo into her car, or seeing Adnan). OK! was reporting that Jamie Spears even showed up at the Beverly Hills Hotel last night with legal papers to get into Brit's room and try to bring her home.

Ryan Takes Time off To Be Dad

Ryan has always been a loving father in our eyes even if he may not have been the most faithful husband. For the first time since his split with Reese he is opening up about life without her. At a press event for his new film Breach, Ryan spoke out about going through the most difficult time in his life. His simple solution to the sad time is making Ava and Deacon his number one priority. Here's more:

"I'm not a perfect person, but I'm not guilty of a lot of the things I have been accused of. My priority is and always has been the health and safety of my family."

"I acknowledge that the successes and the opportunities I've had recently have been the best of my career," he said. "I've got to say it's the last thing on my mind right now, considering what I'm going through in my personal life, but I definitely appreciate the opportunities."

But now, he said, he's ready to focus on his family: "I did three movies in the last year and a half and I'm going to take a good long break and be a dad. So that's No. 1 on my mind right now."

Ahh... makes you feel kinda sorry for the guy. Especially since Reese is absolutely glowing post break-up. At least Reese and Ryan have been able to keep it civil for the kids.

Ryan Speaks Out

Britney's split is what we're all talking about, but we still haven't forgotten about Reese and Ryan's shocking divorce announcement last week. Ryan is now speaking out for the first time about his split from Reese in what seems to be a response to the cheating rumors. He wants everyone to know that he's not perfect, and he's not guilty. People reports:

In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, Phillippe says, “I’m not a perfect person, but I’m not guilty of a lot of the things I have been accused of. My priority is and always has been the health and safety of my family."

Phillippe will not comment on reports that a relationship with Abbie Cornish – the Australian actress who costars with him in an upcoming film – played a role in the demise of his seven-year marriage to Witherspoon. But his reps vehemently deny other recent allegations of hard partying and drug use.

It’s no secret that Phillippe has always enjoyed hitting the clubs with friends. He and Witherspoon "would fight over that kind of thing all the time. He got away with a lot and he knows it," according to a source at a Santa Monica bar that Phillippe used to frequent. His rep, however, denies it: "Look, he went out, she went out, it wasn’t a point of conflict."

Others who know them say Phillippe often stayed at his Venice office after arguments with Witherspoon, sometimes "for days a time," says the source. "He said she hated that."

Ryan must be feeling pretty lucky there's a new divorce in Hollywood for us to all focus on!

Baldwin Brothers Busted

The lesser known Daniel Baldwin was arrested for cocaine possession in LA last week. It went almost unnoticed but TMZ reported the new tonight.

Then there is the more famous Baldwin brother, Alec, who has supposedly been such a brat that his off-Broadway co-star quit. Maybe Kim Basinger isn't as crazy as he tries to make her sound. The NY Post reports:

Jan Maxwell, who won rave reviews for her performance in Joe Orton's black comedy, wrote in an e-mail to a friend that Baldwin's frequent temper tantrums - including putting his fist through a wall because the air conditioning wasn't high enough - also caused her to fear for her "physical safety, mental health and artistic integrity."

In an interview with The Post yesterday, Maxwell said that while Baldwin can be "very compelling, funny and enjoyable, when something clicks in him, I don't want to be around."

"For her to pin all that on me is unfair," Baldwin said. "You'd think she was on the payroll of my ex-wife's divorce lawyer, pushing every button you could find," he added, referring to his ugly divorce from actress Kim Basinger.

I love his reaction. I don't get the fascination of the Baldwin brothers. I don't think any of them are attractive or talented. Alec is on SNL all the time and he is not worthy of almost holding the record of most appearances on the show (he is right behind Steve Martin).
