Joshua Has No Shame About Showing Off His Style

Joshua Jackson didn't seem to mind the Summer temperatures as he posed for photos in NYC on Sunday before putting on layered cardigans for last night's Fringe premiere party with his costars. He looked great both ways, though Joshua is more than happy to let his girlfriend Diane Kruger take credit for his stellar style even when she's not by his side. He opened up to InStyle about his newfound appreciation for clothes and his recent immersion in the world of high fashion. Here's more:

On how Diane has affected his wardrobe: "When you're dating a European woman, the slovenly way of dressing will not do. But the reality is, I've also grown up a lot in the last five years, and not getting dressed up is partly teenage rebellion. I obviously held on to that for too long. But I don't want to get into wearing the uniform of the thirty-year-old actor either: the beanie guy, the scarf guy. It defeats the purpose of individual expression. If I ever have a fashion relapse, Diane lets me know."
On awkward celebrity run-ins: "My first Cannes experience was my first true fashion moment. The tradition is that the director escorts his leading lady up the stairs - which left me dateless. So my 'date' for the evening became Karl Lagerfeld. There's little Canadian me sitting next to Karl Lagerfeld for four and a half hours. It was pretty comical."

On when he started to care about clothes: "My education in the world of high fashion started with Diane. It's not something that particularly interested me before. That said, I don't think I'll ever rabidly follow trends. The big thing for me is finding clothes that I can wear, rather than clothes that wear me."
On what style meant to him growing up in British Columbia: "My mother raised two children entirely by herself, which was spectacular of her. I didn't grow up in a house that catered to fashion. It was more about function."
On returning to TV: "Frankly, Fringe is more to my taste than something like Dawson's Creek. I didn't grow up watching 90210; I grew up watching the X-Files."

We've always had a soft spot for Pacey Whitter, and we can't wait to see Josh back on the small screen in one of the most anticipated new Fall shows.

Renee Reminisces About George And Her Great Job

Lovely Renee Zellweger has opened up to July's InStyle magazine about working with gorgeous George Clooney in Leatherheads, enjoying her job, and how she handles her life in terms of happiness and fulfillment. Here's a few interview excerpts for you:

On working with George Clooney: "It was a no-brainer. I heard George was making a movie and I said, "When?" If he had asked me to make peanut butter sandwiches for the catering, I would have said, "Crunchy or smooth?" It's never less than great with him. And poor me, I had to watch guys throwing a football all day. Yeah, that was horrible. (laughs) Talk about living the dream."
On being a happy person: "I'm fortunate. I think I was born happy. If I have a bad moment, it doesn't take me long to switch the gear back. I say, 'That sucked,' and move on. There's a lot I want to do. I want to be better at things. I want to know more; I want to understand more. I want to figure out what it is I'm supposed to do. I'm on the road, but I know it's not the whole road."
On being fulfilled: “I’m not about “If only””, she says of her life. “I know the reality of things and there’s always good there. There’s no yearning with me. There’s intention.”

On acting and liking her job: "I like the struggle of my work, I like that it’s ridiculous and that it matters to me for reasons I can’t verbalise eloquently. I like it when you're shooting in 47 degrees below zero and everybody looks the same and it's hilarious and we're getting done what we'd hope to do that day."
On being conscientious: “I care about what the path I tread looks like. That matters to me – not how other people perceive me. I don’t want to be cruel or belittle people. That’s not part of my constitution and I’m very glad that it isn’t.”

Cameron Diaz Casually Wants It All

Cameron Diaz has had a busy month promoting What Happens in Vegas, but this California girl looks perfectly relaxed in the June issue of InStyle. In the magazine she talks about her style, what she's looking for in a man and in a bittersweet moment, the love of her parents especially her father. Here are some highlights:

On being sexy: "You have to really enjoy [being sexy]. Not fake anything. Sexy is being in the moment, whether that means being coy or coming on hard. Faking is always lame and it never comes across the way you want it to."
On her love life: "I'm a woman. Of course I'm dating! [..] I trust my judgment. I'm not going to bring some idiot into my world, and if I'm not sure about him, I'm cautious. My list is all about balance. You can have smart but not funny. You can have funny but not very smart. You can have intellectual but not social. But ...I want it all! I love big brains. I love to eat. I love to be outdoors. I love to have conversations! I love to make love. I like live arrrrgh! I don’t do anything half-assed, and I want somebody who can keep up with all that. And I want someone who can show me something, you know?”"

On her style: "I don't like overdone or being too put-together. I like casual chic. Eclectic style. I want to feel like I can go anywhere, whatever I'm wearing. I found these jeans today and was like 'Well hello, Abercrombie jeans!' They're really old and I love them. I don't care that they've got holes in them."
On her parents [interview prior to her father's death]: "They just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. They're just really good, cool people. I know I'll never be in a situation where I can't get to somebody for support. [My father] said he'd always back me up if I got in trouble. He is a good man, stand up and loyal."

Cameron maintains a casual-cool, laid-back California girl image even during trying times. Clearly her loving and supportive family played a big role in the woman she has become today and they should be very proud of the superstar actress who is trying to save the world we live in while also having fun.

Renée Zellweger Is Happy and She Knows It

It's all about brightness and bold colors for Renée Zellweger in April's InStyle. The Leatherheads star sat down with the magazine while she was in Canada filming Chilled in Miami to share her positive outlook on life, as well as model some awesomely colorful Spring outfits. Bottom line: Renée is one seriously happy camper and she always has been. Here are highlights:

On liking her job: "I genuinely like what I do. I'm shooting here in Canada with a bunch of wonderful people. Not long ago I worked in the Carolinas for Leatherheads with a group of other people whom I liked a lot. Admittedly, I rarely go to my farm because it's just up the road from my best friend's farm, where my godkids, who are toddlers, live, and my cat. So I go to her house. Or to my brother's house, where my nieces and nephew are. And I have an apartment in New York, where I change out the contents of a suitcase, catch up on my life there."
On having fun: "I can have fun anywhere. I'm not averse to going out dancing, but fun to me is a little different. I want to create something good."
On getting to wear great clothes: "I really appreciate the artistry in fashion now. It's extraordinary to wear one of those red-carpet gowns. They're beautiful. They're art."

Halle Bares Her Berry Belly in InStyle

We already got a peek at the cover of this month's InStyle, but inside there's so much more. Besides the requisite pregnant belly shot, Halle shows off her chic maternity style, and Lil shows us how to get her look. Halle opens up about everything from getting ready for motherhood to bonding with Gabriel, and she even dishes about superpowers and nudity. Here's more:

On getting ready for baby: "I've been checking out eco-friendly disposable diapers. I have this little teddy bear that I diaper!"
On relaxing: "I used to relax with a glass of wine. Now a good massage goes a long way to help me de-stress and detox."

On golfing with Gabriel: "When someone is your life partner and he really cares about something, it's important to care about it as well, you know? So I started taking lessons and got bitten by the bug. He's much better than I am. But it's still something we can do together and be competitive - not just with each other. On having a superpower: "If I could have a superpower, like the X-Me, it would be teleporting. One day I'd be in LA, then, all of the sudden, I'd be in Rome. Or I'd love to go to five different countries in a day. That would be fantastic."On nude scenes: "I did one and I'd do more, if it was instrumental in bringing the character to life. I'm really comfortable with my body."

It sure does look like Halle is comfortable with her body, even as she goes through so many changes being pregnant. It will be interesting to see how she feels at the near end of her pregnancy and afterwards as well.

Katie's Fashionable Lifestyle

Katie Holmes looks stunning in her pre-dramatic bangs hair do for the January issue of InStyle. She's had quite the fashion metamorphosis over the past few years and is well on her way to fashion icon status. In the magazine on newsstands this weekend, "Kate" looks sexy in her pants suits, but we're loving the flirty dresses even more. In the article Katie opens up on just about everything, from Tom and Suri to life in general. Here are highlights:

On dressing for her husband: "Tom likes me in a suit and a mini every now and then. I like it when he likes it. It makes me blush. He'll say, 'You look good. I hope security's going with you.' Now that gives me attitude."
On love: "I still get like that, 'Whew.' When you fall in love, it's as though time stops. It's all-encompassing. I try every day to let him know how much I love him," she added. "It gets better and better. It has made my life."

Katie's life seems anything but simple to us, but we love that she just wants to keep her family happy like most moms out there. As for waiting to have more kids, we can understand her wanting to enjoy this phase of her life now but we certainly can't wait for Suri to have a sibling.

Emma Watson Shows Off Her Grown-Up Style

If there was any question as to whether or not Emma Watson was all grown up, her photo shoot in the January issue of InStyle UK should answer it. The Harry Potter star looks glamorous in her '50s-inspired outfits, and we love that she kept it classy and covered up, unlike some other starlets. In the article, Emma talks about her projects, growing up, and her sense of style (she loves Chanel, in case you didn't know). Here are highlights:

On fame: "Recently a woman took my arm, looked at me very seriously and said, 'You're quite pretty in real life.' I didn't quite know how to take it.”
On choosing her own red carpet outfits: “Getting someone else to choose things takes the fun out of it."

Emma also talks about her active social life (currently revolving around 18th birthday parties) and her upcoming role in Ballet Shoes. We love watching Emma making her transformation from cute little girl to fashionista, so hopefully she'll stick around in the spotlight even after the Harry Potter franchise finally comes to an end.

Adrien Brody Gives Us a Peek Inside His Style

We love seeing our favorite female stars gracing the covers of InStyle, but we also love their monthly feature on Hollywood's most fashionable men. In the magazine's December issue, Adrien was the chosen actor who we know isn't afraid to have his own sense of style as recently evidenced by his metallic suit at the LA premiere of Darjeeling Limited. In the issue the actor talks about his body, his girl and his dance moves. Here are some highlights:

On having to change his body for different roles:
"My father's thin, and my grandfather was very thin. When I did The Pianist, I starved myself, then had to gain weight back rapidly. Now I appreciate how people struggle with their bodies. Nobody's perfect."
On his break dance skills:
"I'd probably hurt myself if I started break-dancing again! I'd have to be pretty intoxicated. But it'll come back one day. You'll see me on the floor doing the Worm."
On the actress he thinks has the most style:
"My girlfriend, Elsa Pataky. She's Spanish; there's an elegance that European women possess that she embodies. She's a woman: She's not cute and girlie. It's something more impressive-it's stronger."

For Jessica Happiness and Humor Is Definitely InStyle

Jessica Simpson got all done up and dressed down for the cover of November's InStyle. The interview inside was done in a pretty non-traditional fashion where instead of your standard Q & A, the magazine got Jessica's sister, best friends, and costars to send questions her way. Oh, and don't you worry, they got to the bottom of that fitness regime that is keeping her looking so bangin' these days. Check it all out (and some cute quotes from Jess) on Fit. Such a guilty celebrity gushfest, but I do love me some Jessica. Here are highlights:

From Ashlee - What's your fave thing about having a younger sister? Oh, that is funny. My favorite thing is that she is cooler than me. I go to my sister for advice all the time, mostly about guys, life, or how to deal with a fight with mom or dad. You'd think she was older. I had to go through life first, and she say the choices I made, good and bad. She can look at my life and be, like, "OK, I'm not going to do it this way." I might be a little more jaded, but it's exciting for me to see her making good choices.
From Rachel Leigh Cook - I've never seen you angry or in a bad mood. What is that like? I love that - that's so sweet! When I get angry, I get quiet. Very quiet. I can't really yell or scream at people. I either kill 'em with kindness or withdraw and figure it out within myself. Or I call my sister. But people who love me know when I'm angry, because I need to be by myself for a little bit. I'm not really a confrontational person. I should be, but I'm not.
From Cheri Oteri - True or false? When you were at the White House in 2004, you said to the secretary of the interior, "I love what you've done with the place." Very True. That was another Jessica moment. People just love it when I make an ass of myself, and I do it often. Of course, I now know what the secretary of the interior does. Trust me. Do you? If not, you'll have to look it up.

Ah, there's nothing quite like a classic Jessica moment, though to be fair a lot of people probably couldn't answer that last question. As for where buffalo wings come from? That's another story. At least she's got a sense of humor about herself to go with her happy attitude these days.
