Reese Has Found Herself a Great Cook in Jake

Reese Witherspoon flashes a big smile on November issue of InStyle. She's been hard at work all Summer shooting How Do You Know?, but Reese managed to find the time to chat about Jake, her exercise regimen, and missing her Southern home. Here's more:

On life with Jake: "Jake is a great cook - he does a lot. We spend the weekends outside LA, in Ojai, where I have a farmhouse. We have chickens and we grow cucumbers and tomatoes. I love it. It reminds me of where I grew up in Tennessee."
On working out: "I try to exercise every day. I like to run for about an hour, and I'm big into working out with girlfriends . . . It's an acquired skill, being able to discuss your love life, children and friends, all while you're running! But we have mastered it."
On her Southern upbringing: "Sometimes it's really difficult for me, being far away from home. I never imagined that my children wouldn't grow up next door to my brother's children. Or my mom and dad wouldn't constantly be around. At least I have a lot of Southern friends in LA - I gravitate toward them."

Jennifer Garner Stays Sexy and Sweet

Jennifer Garner is on the cover of May's InStyle, and here's a taste of the gorgeous photos inside the magazine. She shared some sweet details about her daughters, and Ben, who Jen says can occasionally be oblivious to her good looks. There's one area where she's sure she to hold his attention - Jen's rumored to be regularly seeing a sex therapist to make sure everything is going well in the bedroom. Here's more from her interview:

On her daughters: "Violet has taught me to slow down and appreciate things. With Sera, I'm so sure of her sweetness as a person. She’s taught me that there's an innate goodness in people that's real. And it's there from birth."
On getting advice from Reese on juggling family/career: "I always quiz Reese about how she does it. I feel like she does a really good job."
On relaxing: "I have a glass of wine with a girlfriend. I wish I meditated, but it’s wine and chocolate. Let's face the facts!"
On Ben's fashion eye: "Ben can be pretty clueless when it comes to my clothes or makeup. But when he does notice and says something, he’s so sweet that I forgive him."

The Garner-Afflecks Are a No-Frills Family

Jennifer Garner's fresh face and pink lips grace the May cover of InStyle. After taking time off and spending the first part of the year with Seraphina and Violet, Jen's ready to get back on the promotional circuit for Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Of course, she couldn't help but gush a little about her family and give us a peek into the Garner-Affleck household. Here are highlights:

On fashion and makeup: "I never go nuts with my look. It's easy to feel like you've gone into caricature territory when you do. These days I wear less makeup than earlier in my career, but I know a lot more about it now."
On cooking skills she's learned from her mom: "She taught me to proof my yeast with a little bit of sugar. And she also taught me how to stretch a roasted chicken to make three meals. Though Ben could eat an entire chicken in one sitting."
On sharing household duties with Ben: "Ben will do the school run. He dresses her and does her hair. It's pretty funny. You can always tell when he has been at it, just two random barrettes hanging in there. It's so sweet."

It's no secret that Jen and Ben are pretty hands-on parents, though maybe Ben can hone his hairstyling skills before taking his turn with Seraphina.

Kate Winslet's Just a Regular Girl with 2 Golden Globes

Kate Winslet put on a yet another Herve Leger dress for the cover of February's InStyle. Fresh off her big wins at the Golden Globes, she's still out there promoting both of the films that earned her the awards. She seems determined to keep her feet on the ground, despite whatever success comes her way. Kate opened up to the magazine about how she deals with her fame, as well as the backlash to her recent revealing Vanity Fair cover. Here's more:

On not being a movie star: "Please don't call me that. I don't feel like a movie star in my life at all, and I don't particular think I behave like one. I dont have my own plane. I don't have a chef or a trainer. To me, you're a movie star only during the time when you're at the Academy Awards or at an important glamorous event. It's very much a hat that you wear, and as soon as the event's over, the hat comes off. I'm back to being Mummy, and that's my priority."
On the one celebrity-ish thing she does: "Literally the one maybe celeb-y thing I do is the occasional facial. That is the only indulgent thing, where I just lie there and relax for an hour. You can't answer the phone. You can't get up and make soup. You've got to lie there and have somebody make you feel nice."
On her Vanity Fair cover: "There was some speculation in the British press - 'Has she been under the airbrush again?' It really kind of got to me. What's the big deal? If I'm looking good at the moment, just let me look good already! Don't have a go at me just because I'm not the fat person you always thought I was going to be."

Kate seems inclined to understatement - not only is she looking downright fantastic these days, but she should get used to being called a movie star since those two statues she took home last weekend have certainly cemented her status.

Heidi Klum Sparkles and Shines For InStyle

Heidi Klum took her big smile to the cover of InStyle for the magazine's December issue. Posing comes easily to her after all her years of experience, and in the interview she reveals her five rules for success, like finding your passion and not taking no for an answer. With Heidi it's never all serious talk, and she also opened up about Seal, singing, and style. Here are highlights:

On her husband: "Sometimes I lie in bed and I'm like, 'Oh my god, there's Seal lying next to me. What's he doing there?' I get a smile on my face immediately. Our honeymoon period is definitely not over. [We] have date nights. We go to dinner or to the movies. We like to keep it romantic. Some people wake up in the morning and turn over when they see their mate. That's not us."
On how Seal has influenced her wardrobe: "I've gotten more stylish since I've been with my husband. I was always making fun of him because he has so many leather coats, jackets and shoes. But he looks hot. I want to look good for him. So I kind of stepped it up a bit."
On her singing voice: "We sing all the time. He's always rolling his eyeballs because I'm in the wrong key. But I know he's laughing about it too. So I'm not a singer - who cares? Not everyone is Seal!"

Not everyone is Heidi Klum either, and the supermodel definitely deserves to credit herself for all her success.

Joshua Has No Shame About Showing Off His Style

Joshua Jackson didn't seem to mind the Summer temperatures as he posed for photos in NYC on Sunday before putting on layered cardigans for last night's Fringe premiere party with his costars. He looked great both ways, though Joshua is more than happy to let his girlfriend Diane Kruger take credit for his stellar style even when she's not by his side. He opened up to InStyle about his newfound appreciation for clothes and his recent immersion in the world of high fashion. Here's more:

On how Diane has affected his wardrobe: "When you're dating a European woman, the slovenly way of dressing will not do. But the reality is, I've also grown up a lot in the last five years, and not getting dressed up is partly teenage rebellion. I obviously held on to that for too long. But I don't want to get into wearing the uniform of the thirty-year-old actor either: the beanie guy, the scarf guy. It defeats the purpose of individual expression. If I ever have a fashion relapse, Diane lets me know."
On awkward celebrity run-ins: "My first Cannes experience was my first true fashion moment. The tradition is that the director escorts his leading lady up the stairs - which left me dateless. So my 'date' for the evening became Karl Lagerfeld. There's little Canadian me sitting next to Karl Lagerfeld for four and a half hours. It was pretty comical."

On when he started to care about clothes: "My education in the world of high fashion started with Diane. It's not something that particularly interested me before. That said, I don't think I'll ever rabidly follow trends. The big thing for me is finding clothes that I can wear, rather than clothes that wear me."
On what style meant to him growing up in British Columbia: "My mother raised two children entirely by herself, which was spectacular of her. I didn't grow up in a house that catered to fashion. It was more about function."
On returning to TV: "Frankly, Fringe is more to my taste than something like Dawson's Creek. I didn't grow up watching 90210; I grew up watching the X-Files."

We've always had a soft spot for Pacey Whitter, and we can't wait to see Josh back on the small screen in one of the most anticipated new Fall shows.

Cameron Diaz Casually Wants It All

Cameron Diaz has had a busy month promoting What Happens in Vegas, but this California girl looks perfectly relaxed in the June issue of InStyle. In the magazine she talks about her style, what she's looking for in a man and in a bittersweet moment, the love of her parents especially her father. Here are some highlights:

On being sexy: "You have to really enjoy [being sexy]. Not fake anything. Sexy is being in the moment, whether that means being coy or coming on hard. Faking is always lame and it never comes across the way you want it to."
On her love life: "I'm a woman. Of course I'm dating! [..] I trust my judgment. I'm not going to bring some idiot into my world, and if I'm not sure about him, I'm cautious. My list is all about balance. You can have smart but not funny. You can have funny but not very smart. You can have intellectual but not social. But ...I want it all! I love big brains. I love to eat. I love to be outdoors. I love to have conversations! I love to make love. I like live arrrrgh! I don’t do anything half-assed, and I want somebody who can keep up with all that. And I want someone who can show me something, you know?”"

On her style: "I don't like overdone or being too put-together. I like casual chic. Eclectic style. I want to feel like I can go anywhere, whatever I'm wearing. I found these jeans today and was like 'Well hello, Abercrombie jeans!' They're really old and I love them. I don't care that they've got holes in them."
On her parents [interview prior to her father's death]: "They just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. They're just really good, cool people. I know I'll never be in a situation where I can't get to somebody for support. [My father] said he'd always back me up if I got in trouble. He is a good man, stand up and loyal."

Cameron maintains a casual-cool, laid-back California girl image even during trying times. Clearly her loving and supportive family played a big role in the woman she has become today and they should be very proud of the superstar actress who is trying to save the world we live in while also having fun.

Renée Zellweger Is Happy and She Knows It

It's all about brightness and bold colors for Renée Zellweger in April's InStyle. The Leatherheads star sat down with the magazine while she was in Canada filming Chilled in Miami to share her positive outlook on life, as well as model some awesomely colorful Spring outfits. Bottom line: Renée is one seriously happy camper and she always has been. Here are highlights:

On liking her job: "I genuinely like what I do. I'm shooting here in Canada with a bunch of wonderful people. Not long ago I worked in the Carolinas for Leatherheads with a group of other people whom I liked a lot. Admittedly, I rarely go to my farm because it's just up the road from my best friend's farm, where my godkids, who are toddlers, live, and my cat. So I go to her house. Or to my brother's house, where my nieces and nephew are. And I have an apartment in New York, where I change out the contents of a suitcase, catch up on my life there."
On having fun: "I can have fun anywhere. I'm not averse to going out dancing, but fun to me is a little different. I want to create something good."
On getting to wear great clothes: "I really appreciate the artistry in fashion now. It's extraordinary to wear one of those red-carpet gowns. They're beautiful. They're art."

On working with George Clooney: "It was a no-brainer. I heard George was making a movie and I said, "When?" If he had asked me to make peanut butter sandwiches for the catering, I would have said, "Crunchy or smooth?" It's never less than great with him. And poor me, I had to watch guys throwing a football all day. Yeah, that was horrible. I guess somebody had to do it. Talk about living the dream."
On being a happy person: "I'm fortunate. I think I was born happy. If I have a bad moment, it doesn't take me long to switch the gear back. I say, 'That sucked,' and move on. There's a lot I want to do. I want to be better at things. I want to know more; I want to understand more. I want to figure out what it is I'm supposed to do. I'm on the road, but I know it's not the whole road."

Point taken. Renée seems like she's reached a great point in her life, but who wouldn't be thrilled to work with George Clooney and wear fab red carpet outfits? Her marathon shopping trips probably don't hurt either.

Eva Is a Stylin' Old Lady

Eva Longoria snagged the cover of the March issue of InStyle magazine. In the interview she talked about fashion, bragging that her closet has 200 pairs of shoes and 50 pairs of jeans - lucky girl! Eva couldn't help but to gush about married life also. She just loves being Mrs. Parker, saying, "In Texas people are so formal, so it's 'Mrs. Parker.' I feel old! But I love it."

Hearing Eva talk so much about being a wife can get a little tiresome, but at least she managed to keep her baby fever in check.

Halle Bares Her Berry Belly in InStyle

Besides the requisite pregnant belly shot, Halle shows off her chic maternity style, and Lil shows us how to get her look. Halle opens up about everything from getting ready for motherhood to bonding with Gabriel, and she even dishes about superpowers and nudity. Here's more:

On getting ready for baby: "I've been checking out eco-friendly disposable diapers. I have this little teddy bear that I diaper!"
On relaxing: "I used to relax with a glass of wine. Now a good massage goes a long way to help me de-stress and detox."

On golfing with Gabriel: "When someone is your life partner and he really cares about something, it's important to care about it as well, you know? So I started taking lessons and got bitten by the bug. He's much better than I am. But it's still something we can do together and be competitive - not just with each other. On having a superpower: "If I could have a superpower, like the X-Me, it would be teleporting. One day I'd be in LA, then, all of the sudden, I'd be in Rome. Or I'd love to go to five different countries in a day. That would be fantastic."On nude scenes: "I did one and I'd do more, if it was instrumental in bringing the character to life. I'm really comfortable with my body."

It sure does look like Halle is comfortable with her body, even as she goes through so many changes being pregnant. It will be interesting to see how she feels at the near end of her pregnancy and afterwards as well.
