Everyone Sings Their Own Praises at the MTV Movie Awards
We spent two hours watching movie plug after movie plug at the MTV Movie Awards last night, and while the show had some funny shining moments, we still missed the spoofs. We actually expected a lot more Love Guru so I was thrilled to see the return of Wayne and Garth instead (yay for Dana Carvey!). The stars of the night were Johnny Depp who proved his acting range as he humbly racked up awards for Best Villain and Best Comedic Performance, and the Tropic Thunder boys who got their laughs with funny banter and Iron Man idolization.
Johnny Depp Steps Out to Appreciate Art
Johnny Depp has been laying low as usual recently, but he smiled and posed at Frank Pictures Gallery where the work of artists Kellisimone Waits and Tiffany Trenda was being shown in Santa Monica on Sunday. Kellisimone's father, Tom Waits, is a friend of Johnny's and a costar in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Johnny hit the stage to accept an award and hand one out to Keith Richards at last month's Scream Awards, but otherwise Depp's been hard at work on a handful of movies including the anticipated Alice in Wonderland — check out the awesome new poster for it here!
Leonardo Works For and Watches the Silver Screen
Leonardo DiCaprio hit up the movies with friends in LA on Sunday before returning to set with Ellen Page yesterday. Leo's next few months will involve wrapping up Inception and gearing up to promote Shutter Island early next year, but there's already talks of his next big project. Leo is rumored to be up against George Clooney and Johnny Depp to play Frank Sinatra in Martin Scorsese's upcoming biopic based on the life of the Rat Pack crooner.
Johnny Depp May No Longer Answer to Captain Jack Sparrow
Johnny Depp donned multiple layers while on the set of a music video for the band Babybird in Herts, UK, on Tuesday. He was working alongside the lead singer Stephen Jones and Johnny's Public Enemies costar Stephen Graham. Next up for Johnny was supposed to be a fourth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, but after Disney studio chief Dick Cook resigned last week, Johnny said he was losing enthusiasm in doing the movie.

Johnny Depp was decked out in plaid as he arrived at the Nice airport earlier today with the singer Patti Smith. He brought along his guitar and a coffee, looking ready to switch from movie to music mode. Johnny Depp wore his usual blue sunglasses and sexy unbuttoned shirt at the LA premiere of Public Enemies last night. He was without Vanessa, but his costar Christian Bale had his wife Sibi on his arm. The boys were joined by their glamorous leading lady in the movie, Marion Cotillard.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner aren't the only ones making fans scream at Comic-Con — Johnny Depp joined his Alice in Wonderland director Tim Burton earlier today for a press conference at the convention center in San Diego. While Johnny might be inching close to nabbing his dream role of playing Carrol Channing, this morning was all about their upcoming film. Johnny Depp looked hot as ever on his way into The Late Show yesterday to promote Public Enemies and was later swarmed by fans after his dinner in NYC. The actor had Dave cracking up during his interview as he joked about fearing for the boys who want to date his daughter, Lily-Rose. He also revealed he never watches his own movies, because once he's done acting it's "none of his business."
