Olsen Cheers Rinkside Before the Red Carpet Championship

Mary-Kate Olsen cheered animatedly from her rinkside seat at last night's New York Rangers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins playoff game at Madison Square Garden. She looked unfazed having all that action right up in her face as she sat next to her friend, model May Anderson. MK looked like she was having a great time getting her fill of the sports action, and after the weekend there's a kind of championship event of a decidedly more glamorous type. It's the annual Costume Institute Gala, the biggest red carpet event of the NY social calendar, the east coast Oscars! Both Olsen girls will be dressed in custom Diane von Furstenberg, rubbing elbows with a guest list that already includes Fergie, Cameron Diaz, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes . . . the list goes on. We can't wait!

21 Afterparty Brings Out Stars and Supermodels

The celebrating kept going long after the premiere of 21 in NYC last night. Kate Bosworth ditched her blazer and got giggly with her friend Helena Christensen, while Mary-Kate Olsen was looking adorable in her shiny belted jumpsuit. Elle Macpherson was also in the house, celebrating her new gig as as the next spokesperson for Revlon. All the celebs look like they're having a blast, and we can't wait to see if the movie is as much fun as its pretty cast.

Donatella Just Wants to Gossip About Halle

Leighton Meester reaped one of the more fashionable benefits of starring on Gossip Girl, posing with Donatella herself at the Versace Menswear Launch at Barneys in NYC yesterday - get Leighton's look here. Donatella left her adorable furry friend at home for the event and seemed to be more interested in weighing in on Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry's new baby. She hasn't met little Nahla yet, but is already making predictions about her beauty, saying, "I cannot imagine a better looking baby than this one." Maybe Donatella will have the whole family over soon - just don't expect it to be at the Versace villa in Lake Como.

Model May Anderson, best known for her work with Victoria's Secret and dating Kid Rock, is taking a hiatus from modeling to design denim.

The Biggest Baby Naming Trends of the Year

Drum roll please…Babycenter just released the results of its highly anticipated annual Top 100 Baby Names of 2011.

(Note: am I the only one whose heart starts pounding when I read this list? Don’t get me wrong, I love the names but my palms are sweating because I do not want to see my kids names on this list! Sadly, they are. Darn Kate Middleton…it’s all her fault.)

As Carolyn noted, there’s no surprise on the most popular names - Aiden tops the boys’ list for the seventh consecutive year while Sophia holds tight to the lead for girls for the second year in a row. But never fear, 2011 definitely yielded some interesting trends in naming:

The Anderson Cooper Effect
He’s got a new talk show and, apparently, a lot of ‘mini-Coopers’ too. While Cooper rose 3 percent to number 58 on the list, the name Anderson made a meteoric ascent, up more than 100 spots!

Fist Pump…Jersey Style
In addition, this year’s list reflects America’s obsession with the Garden State, as names like Nicole (Jersey Shore) make their way up four spots while Briella (Jerseylicious), Jacqueline and Caroline (The Real Housewives of New Jersey), and Kimberly (Jersey Couture) all experienced hair-raising leaps. And if that’s not enough, the name Jersey itself is up 16 percent!

Keeping Up With…Mason?
Another reality baby name star to take note of is Mason, Kourtney Kardashian’s son, who toddled up eight spots to claim the number three spot for boys. Not to be outdone, the first names of power couple Victoria and David Beckham are both on the rise as well as that of their newborn daughter, Harper, whose name is up an impressive 34 spots.

The Royal and the Political
Keeping the reality show stars in check is the royal duo William and Kate, whose names are both on the rise along with Harry and Pippa, whose name is up a whopping 45 percent. Moms also looked to politics, as evidenced by the rise of inspirational congresswoman Gabby Giffords’ name, as well as the names of the Palin, Obama, and Clinton daughters.

Superheroes…Real and Fictional
Additional inspiration for this year’s crop of top baby names came from superheroes, with names like May (Spider-Girl) swooping up 98 spots and Peter (Spiderman) climbing 22 spots. NASCAR and nature also left their mark on this year’s list, with names like Matt (Kenseth) and Kyle (Busch) on the rise along with Summer and Storm.

Jason Schwartzman may be all grown up now with a family and his own HBO series, but he'll always be Max Fischer to me, his role in 1998's Rushmore. The obnoxious private school student was the first time I'd seen Schwartzman, and the first movie that made me fall in love with director Wes Anderson. I think of it fondly, especially because I quote it all the time, especially "O.R. they?" Josh Hutcherson and Vanessa Hudgens Take a Fantastic Voyage in the Trailer For Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

In Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, the sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth, Josh Hutcherson is back in the starring role as adventurer Sean Anderson, a young man on an exciting trip of epic proportions. The mission at hand? To find Sean's grandfather Alexander (Michael Caine), a famed explorer who went missing during his journey for Mysterious Island, a place that may be linked to the lost city of Atlantis. To round out the crew of this quest, Sean and his stepfather (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) enlist the help of two tour guides (Luis Guzman and Vanessa Hudgens). After some hijinks and a crazy helicopter crash, the four arrive at Mysterious Island, a fairly utopian and Avatar-looking spot that is also full of dark jungles and terrifying creatures.

While Journey 2: The Mysterious Island looks like a sweet and silly movie, it's definitely geared toward kids. However, I'm down to follow Hutcherson just about anywhere, since I can only think of him as Peeta (his role in the upcoming The Hunger Games). Ashley Greene Loves New York But Works Out in LA

Ashley Greene worked up a sweat, and an appetite, with a friend in LA yesterday before hitting Whole Foods to refuel. The actress is a frequent gym-goer and is one of several celebrity fans of trainer Tracy Anderson, who also helps tone the likes of Nicole Richie and Gwyneth Paltrow. Last night, after taking care of her fitness and picking up some food, Ashley headed out on the town to watch a show by '80s cover band Steel Panther and took to Twitter to say the performance cracked her up. Ashley may be a West Coast girl at heart, but she also made two recent trips to the Big Apple, indulging her stylish side as she joined fellow stars like Jessica Alba and the Olsens at the 2011 CFDA Awards and partied with an A-list group at the Met Gala.

Pilot Scoop: Homeland

Our preview of Fall TV continues, and today we're checking out one of Showtime's new original series, Homeland, a drama that's bringing Claire Danes back to TV. Danes plays a CIA agent working for homeland security who becomes worried that a recently rescued POW is actually a spy working for Al-Qaeda.

What it's about: When a prisoner of war who has been missing for eight years suddenly turns up, agent Carrie Anderson (Danes) becomes suspicious of the circumstances because of a tip she'd received months earlier. She believes that the rescued soldier, Sgt. Nicholas Brody (played by Damian Lewis), was turned while he was imprisoned and is now a terrorist. Anderson conducts her own investigation while the series shows you both her and Brody's perspectives.

Where it works: The pilot does a great job alternating between making you believe Carrie's theory and making you doubt it. By the end of the pilot, you still don't know if Brody has been turned or not, but by seeing his experiences - including his efforts to re-assimilate into his family and his flashbacks of being tortured - you deeply sympathize with him.

Where it doesn't: The psychological mystery is the most compelling aspect of the show, so if it's solved soon, it may be less interesting as a straight highbrow political drama.

You might like this show if: You love a good conspiracy theory.

When it's on: Sundays at 10 p.m. on Showtime starting Oct. 2.
