We are still watching our favorite season finales but we have to switch gears to begin thinking about the networks new fall schedules. NBC announced theirs today and the big news is that both the Matthew Perry and Alec Baldwin have shows about the behind-the-scenes look at a late night program. These are by far the shows I am most interested in checking out.Sugar Bits — Janet Jackson Set to Return to Stage Tomorrow
- Janet Jackson is returning to her tour tomorrow for her scheduled appearance in Connecticut following her mystery illness and multiple show cancellations. — Access Hollywood
- The first of Brad Pitt's Make It Right houses, built in New Orleans to support rebuilding the city post-Katrina, have been completed. — CitizenSugar
- Barack Obama's campaign bought 30 minutes of primetime on both CBS and NBC at 8 p.m.
Sugar Bits — Nicole Kidman Is Not Pregnant
- Despite reports that surfaced this weekend claiming that Nicole Kidman was pregnant her rep denied the news. She said "It is incorrect... She must have had about 30 babies by now."
Couric Finally Jumps Ship
We will let everyone else cover this super exciting and yet so drawn out story today. This should be our only post to say what everyone already speculated but will be announced as official today - Katie Couric has announced she is leaving NBC and CBS has confirmed she is joining them as the first woman to anchor a network weekday evening newscast alone. Next up, the expected addition of Meredith Viera to NBC.Is Gina Gershon the Next SJP?
Gina is signed on to be the main character in Lipstick Jungle created by Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell. The show is being considered by NBC for their fall schedule. Gina's character is a high powered, hard working married woman in NYC.Matthew Perry Working Out
Matthew Perry has been getting back into shape for his new show, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. We are eagerly awaiting the new NBC show which will also include Amanda Peet, Steven Weber and D.L. Hughley.Posh's Reality Show On The Rocks
We were so excited for The Victoria Beckham Show but now we're hearing it may not happen as planned. The six series show may turn out to be an hour long NBC special since Posh wants to stand by her man. Apparently the network wanted her to tape when she had already committed to watching some of David's final European games.
Heroes Get Lucky!
The cast of Heroes have quite a lot to be happy about these days. Not only did they get to stock up on some swag at the 4th annual Lucky Club before the fall TV Upfronts but it's just been announced that they're getting a spin-off! Check out more information on the new show, Heroes: Origins here!
Desperate Housewives Desperate Again
Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Garrett announced the 58th annual Primetime Emmy award nominations this morning and the big talk is all about how the Desperate Housewives and Lost were left out of the best series nominations. In fact, the only housewife to get a nom was Alfre Woodard. As for those who were Academy favorites this year, 24 got 12 noms, Grey's Anatomy got 11 and Will & Grace received 10.
