Gap and Nylon Fête Gap's New Soho Concept Store

The stars spread some holiday cheer last night at Gap's new 8,000-square-foot concept store in Soho. The always-adorable Becki Newton and Emmy Rossum stopped by and tried on scarves and hats. The City's Roxy Olin also made a cameo and left with a bag full of goodies. Good thing because 30 percent of of all purchases benefited Feeding America. There was live music, Christmas trees, candy canes, cozy sweaters, and lots of holiday love to go around.

Zooey Deschanel Is It for Nylon and For Us

Zooey Deschanel graces the cover of the October Nylon, and the "It" girl looks appealing and gorgeous in her silly offbeat photo shoot. After spending so much time shooting Yes Man with Jim Carrey, Zooey proves she can pull a few funny faces of her own while showing a slightly risqué side as well. We're already looking forward to the comedy which comes out in December, but in the issue Zooey also opens up about her musical side, saying, “Now that I’ve experienced what it’s like to stand up there and sing my own songs, I just can’t imagine wanting to do anything else.” She also reveals that she's a country singer at heart, and while we love her on the big screen we wouldn't mind seeing her try to give Jessica Simpson a little friendly competition.

Lindsay Gets Down to Business in Nylon Korea

Mischa Gets Down in Denim with Nylon

Mischa Barton stripped down to jeans, a hat and a suggestive dandelion for the denim issue of Nylon magazine. Despite some bad career choices, with multiple movies and a handbag collection in the works, the new European has a lot to talk about. She even opened up about her DUI among other things. Here are some highlights:

On her DUI arrest: "That was a low point for me. I never, ever would have thought I would be arrested. Like, it was one of those things that I never thought would happen to me, and I was disappointed because it associated me with a group of girls that I would rather not be associated with."
On education: "I would want to go to college for the learning, but there's so much else that comes with that that I don't think I need anymore. I've been making my own money and living as an adult for far too long."
On the difference between TV and movies: "In TV, actors literally ignore the directors, which I find wild. I couldn't understand that when I started on television. I'd always go to the director and ask him questions, and he'd look at me with a blank stare like, 'Why are you here?'"

Hmmm, me thinks Mischa might not get any new TV gigs after that comment. As for her DUI, at least it looks like she learned her lesson.

Scarlett Loves Rock & Roll, But It Doesn't Really Love Her Back

Scarlett Johansson wanted to display her Rock 'n' Roll image on the latest cover of Nylon now that she has unleashed her new album Anywhere I Lay My Head. She shows off her best rocker pout, and even talks about how people recognize her without seeing her movies. The starlet may want to be appreciated for more than her pretty face and acting talent, but judging from the album's weak reviews it looks like she might want to stick with what she already knows.

Nylon Gossips With Our Favourite Girls

Blake Lively and Leighton Meester each take a different cover of this month's edition of US mag Nylon (yes, the very same one that has Hannah Murray in) so you can pick up your favourite Gossip Girl and proudly show whose team you're on. I'm still edging towards Serena, mainly because of her awesome wardrobe and ridiculously perfect hair. Jealous. Anyway, the girls had a few things to discuss, including:

Leighton on the characters: “Serena is more thrown together and effortless and doesn’t really care, and... has this sexiness to her without trying... Blair is really uptight and conservative and put together and everything has to be perfect, you know? Chuck is kind of cocky and he’s just like, I don’t know, a prick."
Blake on the internet rumours she would get the part before she was cast: "Yeah, it’s kind of crazy but after the first Sisterhood [Of The Traveling Pants] trailer even came out, um, I guess it’s maybe I’m the only person with long blonde hair in Hollywood. I don’t know, but everyone was like, 'Oh, she should be Serena.'"
Leighton on Blair:“Maybe I’ve known [Blair] somehow or I know her in myself and she needs somebody to portray her in a way that isn’t completely harsh because she could be so hated.”

School's Almost Back in Session For Gorgeous Gossip Girls

We're finally only days away from the return of our beloved Gossip Girl - between the rumors of new on-set hookups and the racy ad campaign, we can hardly contain our excitement. To celebrate, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester posed together in all sorts of colorful and fabulous outfits for the May cover of Nylon Magazine. Here are some highlights from their interview:

Blake on how she got her fashion sense: “My sister Robin was an actress, so she was always wearing wardrobe and certain things for events . . . my mom used to go to Urban Outfitters and get me vintage looking pieces, like tweed dresses and these argyle leggings and tops and she would just sew them up to fit me. So in school . . . the other kids would make fun of the way I dressed because it was so funky and outlandish, and not like anyone else . . . "
Leighton on GG style: “Serena is more thrown together and effortless and doesn’t really care, and is just like, has this sexiness to her without trying, and Blair is really uptight and conservative and put together and everything has to be perfect, you know Chuck is kind of cocky and he’s just like, I don’t know, a prick."

During the photoshoot, Rachel took a little time out to chat and you can watch the video after the cut. She talks about how she'd love to work with eccentric directors Wes Anderson, Darren Aronofsky and Tim Burton, and her love for songstresses Joni Mitchell and Imogen Heap, all over a cool Raveonettes soundtrack. Rachel Bilson Shows Off Her Nylon Style and Love For Pigs

Rachel Bilson got all sultry and girly (and tiny) for the March issue of Nylon Magazine. They were kind enough to share some outtakes from the shoot with us where R-Bils looks a little bit like she's playing dress up - and I mean that in the best way possible. In the interview, she talks about not being one of those girls with no underwear and one of her favorite barnyard animals. Too cute. Here are highlights:

"You won't see me getting into cars without any undergarments on. That's the latest thing with the paparazzi now - you get out of a car and the camera is right there, so they can get a nice shot."
"My mom is a sex therapist, which for me is like, okay mom, enough."
"All I will say [about Hayden Christensen] is that pigs are my favorite animal... any person who owns a pig, I'm a fan of."

Hayden recently bought two pet pigs, awwww. Now if only they could translate some of the chemistry they must have in real life onto the big screen because that seems to be (part of) what Jumper is lacking. Check out lots more of adorable Bilson when the magazine hits newsstands next week.

Founders Lucy Wallace Eustice, a former Harper's Bazaar editor, and Monica Zwirner, a fashion stylist and interior designer, met through the fashion industry. Turns out, they had the same vision; they both realized that luxury consumers weren't about to give up their Birkins for newcomers.

They also knew that women who spent thousands on bags also want a less serious option. MZ Wallace bags are relatively inexpensive (from $225 to $350) compared to many labels out there and are made of high-quality Italian nylon. They can all be purchased online through their site.

More Crazy Lindsay From Nylon

Lindsay's dress sure is cute. Too bad she killed the look with those shoes. We're waiting to see if she denies all the things that she said in her latest crazy interview with Nylon magazine, but so far - nothing. Meanwhile, you all got such a kick out of it we decided to bring you some more highlights. Here you go:

On the media speculation about her love life:
"Well, in the past it would suck...they would just name every older man...I mean I would be dead if I'd slept with that many people! But I know it's going to happen. But certain people..." A grin. "Certain people are true."
On what she expects from her "people":
"Loyalty. Don't f@#%ing lie to me. I can read right through people. And you can't lie to an actress, I mean that's just stupid!"
On her upcoming film I Know Who Killed Me:
"I don't think that there has been a role for an actress like this movie was for me in so long...At first I was like 'I can't do this, I'm getting my leg cut off. I don't want to look like that in scenes, I want to look decent!' But that was just just me being young and stupid. And I have my first sex scene in it, which I always said I wouldn't do...I wanted to this movie so people can see that I'm a f@#%ing actress and I've been doing it forever and it's about time people see that. It felt so good to really act."

With LL there's never a dull moment and somehow she always leaves us wanting more!

LL Has A Lot To Say About Herself

Lindsay has a lot to say in the May issue of Nylon magazine and while much of it isn't very clear, it's quite entertaining as usual. In the article she apparently talks a mile a minute and things fly out of her mouth before she can think to stop them. Here are highlights:

On why she continues to go out:
“This is why it’s such a big deal, and why I get so worried... I’m at the point where...oh my God...I’m going to go out! I work hard enough and I know how to take care of myself. I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. I will say, though, that it’s so much harder to stay sober in New York. Though it’s hard in L.A. not to go out, it gets lonely. Being an actress is lonely, and I never want to be alone. I hate sleeping alone.”
On Wonderland:
"I just think that the people [at Wonderland] weren't used to me. They've had other celebrities there, just never as hardcore as me....The people there didn't get why when we would go to meetings, instead of being in the back of the car I would be like 'I think I should drive, because they are going to chase you and it's going to be scary and we might get in an accident and we don't need that.'"
On the paparazzi:
"I get embarrassed about the paparazzi if I'm in a chic restaurant, or when I was in the AA meetings. I felt very disrespectful because those people are doing that for themselves and it's no one elses' business. But that was the only time it was embarrassing--other times, I obviously like it I wouldn't ever want them to not take my picture. I'd be worried. I'd be like, 'Do people not care about me?'"

These are just a few of the many wonderful quotes from LL in Nylon this month. They must be psyched they scored such a great post-rehab interview.

Christina's Rise to To Empowerment

Last week, Christina celebrated the 8th anniversary (and her cover) of Nylon magazine in NYC. It seem as if she is debuting the latest version of her constantly made over image. We weren't a huge fan of her dirrty days but we did get behind her 50s pin up brand. In the magazine Xtina talks about her standard fare -- how she and her music have evolved and how she's grown to become one of most empowered women in the industry. Here are highlights:

On the Dirrty controversy:"Dirrty was my take on coming of age. It was a song about being free of any inhibitions and just letting it all out and cutting lose. I had so much fun on that video and I felt so empowered. If anything, I look back and realize that the greatest thing about it was that no matter what your opinion was on it, people were talking about it."

On making her third album :"I think in order to really make something special and heartfelt I need to take time with it. I don't want to jeopardize the outcome by trying to rush through it to make the label happy because they have something to sell. I like to take a minute and get to know the woman that I've grown into from record to record. And for this one in particular I wanted to research and get into that whole world. I really wanted to explore it all, and just live it. Not just sing the songs, but really feel a part of it."

On being a strong woman in a man's world: "I'm extra sensitive and have my dukes up because I witnessed a lot of shit in my household with my father and mother, and I wanted to make sure that I was never going to feel powerless or helpless to a man. That's why I think I do have this overconfidence with my sexuality because I feel empowered by it, and I love being in control of every facet of what I do."

While we love the strong, empowering message she is trying to send, we do feel like we've heard a lot of this interview before. That and the naked Sunday thing seem to be her favorite things to talk about these days. Perhaps she likes to change her look but keep her answers the same in her many interviews.
