The star-studded VH1 Divas kicked off last night at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and new diva-inductees like Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, Miley Cyrus, and Kelly Clarkson walked the red carpet in their glamorous gowns. Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port looked gorgeous and sparkly, and we'll have more on LC's possible LA Candy movie deal later. Miley weighed in on the Taylor/Kanye incident, calling him out as disrespectful.
Paula Abdul's New Song — Love It or Leave It?
American Idol finally returned this week, promising us months of new TV to watch during the drought. But while we were patiently waiting for its return, Paula was working on her own music for the first time in over 10 years. Ellen DeGeneres announced yesterday that she will be replacing Paula Abdul as the fourth American Idol judge, and this morning she called in to Ryan Seacrest's radio show to chat about her new job. She opened up about why she thinks she's qualified to judge the singers, said she'll be friendly to the contestants, and also expressed her hope that Paula is OK with how everything turned out. It's been quite a week for the talk show host, who kicked off a new season of her show and took on a whole new gig signing on as the fourth judge on American Idol. Precious Cat Deeley introduced the popular routines from the season though the top four weren't able to come as they were busy getting ready for tonight's finale! She's been temporarily taking Paula's spot, and now more guest judges have signed on as Miss Abdul hints she has something new in the works. Now that Posh is home, she'll have more time to spend with Becks since he won't be playing in tomorrow's game due to his red card suspension.
