Patrick Trades His Scrubs For Racing Gear
Patrick Dempsey stopped by the racetrack at Homestead, FL, yesterday and this morning to practice before the Rolex Series race he'll be driving in this weekend. Patrick's passion for cars is his hobby when he's not filming Grey's Anatomy, which had a pretty dramatic episode last night. Derek stays by Meredith's side as she decides whether to donate part of her liver to her father, while Izzie deals with the complications of returning to surgery.

The Grey's Anatomy star is in town to help fellow Avon spokesperson Reese Witherspoon raise awareness in the fight again breast cancer and domestic violence. Jake Is Snap Happy at the Races With Ava and Deacon
Jake Gyllenhaal spent the weekend in Martha's Vineyard, where he played proud photographer as he ran the Chilmark 5K road race on Saturday with Ava and Deacon Phillippe. He's all about joining in on the Witherspoon-Phillippes' family fitness, and Jake seemed ecstatic to share the afternoon with Reese and her son and daughter. The island is a Summertime favorite of Jake's family, and after a few visits from Reese and her kids, it seems to have become a tradition for the whole group.
Patrick Dempsey Revs Some Engines
Patrick Dempsey was in Le Mans, France yesterday to practice for the city's annual 24 Hour race this Saturday. He and two teammates plan to compete in the marathon competition tomorrow, with the goal of raising money for children born with heart defects. Patrick usually fits his need for speed into his work schedule when he's filming Grey's Anatomy, but now that his show's on hiatus until next season he's even more able to dedicate himself to the track.
Patrick Dempsey Has Mastered the Art of Racing in the Rain
Patrick Dempsey braved the gloomy weather as he dodged raindrops while running errands in LA yesterday. The car enthusiast has spent his past few weekends at the tracks in Maine and Florida, where he raced. He's taking his passion to the big screen for The Art of Racing in the Rain, but before that we'll see him costarring with everyone in Valentine's Day.
Patrick Dempsey's Fame Never Runs on Empty
Patrick Dempsey suited up for a race in Daytona with his team on Saturday, making sure to stop and sign autographs for fans. Avon sponsored his race car as Patrick raised awareness for their breast cancer foundation, a cause close to his heart since his mother is a cancer survivor. At the race, he talked about being charitable saying, "I think fame in itself is quite empty unless you use it for something that's benefiting other people."
Matt Damon Proves He's Crazy Enough
Matt Damon is making the most of his time in South Africa where he's filming The Human Factor, and yesterday he sported lots of spandex for a bike race. In the movie he'll be playing Francois Pienaar, and the famous rugby captain joined Matt on the 68 mile trip, along with Matt's brother Kyle. The guys rocked matching jerseys that said MAD and "Are you crazy enough," while the actor showed off his famous grin despite the intense workout.
Audrina and Stephanie Know Their Girls, Cars and Boys
Audrina Patridge wore a "Know Your Girls" shirt in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month yesterday before changing into a hot cobalt blue number for a Pepsi 500 event. She mingled with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and a few other racecar drivers and then met up with Stephanie Pratt, also in the color of the evening, at Wonderland for Heidi Montag's birthday party. The girls are still in the midst of Kristin drama on The Hills but with Audrina leaving for her own show and Stephanie saying this could be her last season, they may not be onscreen together much longer.
