MTV Cancels The Hills!!!

Audrina Patridge stopped off at Regis and Kelly solo yesterday. Unfortunately, it's too little too late - MTV has decided to pull the plug on The Hills. The network cited a number of reasons including, the scandal of Audrina's growing portfolio of topless photos, storylines being outdated by the time they air thanks to weekly magazines, Lauren's increasing frustration with the way she is portrayed on the show, and all time low ratings last night. Seems a bit sudden, but MTV is apparently fed up with their darlings and wants to get rid of them. LC and Heidi have teamed up to start a petition and bring themselves back. Christina Applegate Is Good Girl/Bad Girl, Who?

Christina Applegate got herself a fancy updo to head into Regis and Kelly to promote her new TV show Samantha Who. Considering she is often the best part of whatever project she works on, I have high hopes that she'll add some awesome female-lead funny into primetime TV. On the show Christina plays a girl who wakes up after a car crash not remembering anything, only to learn that she was a pretty nasty person beforehand. Christina talked to Access Hollywood about her show, and playing the good girl/bad girl role. She said:

Via the flashbacks on the show, you get to play both good and bad.
She was pretty awful but I love getting to play bad Sam, it is a lot of fun. It is a different hair, different voice, different walk, it’s a different behavior. It’s a lot of fun in the middle of the week to be able to switch gears and do something different.

You may have yourself a winner with this series.
It would be nice (knocks on wood). I really do like this show. I get to watch the cuts before they go off and I’m really proud of what everyone is doing. [Pilots are so hard]. You try to get all this information into 22 minutes, but the rest of them? Now we get these characters and you get to see them flourish and live. It’s quite good if I say so myself.

Hopefully the world will feel the same when they meet Miss Samantha tonight. Check out Buzz to see some previews of the show, tonight at 9:30 on ABC. I've got a (pathetically) full TV schedule these days, but I may have to make room for one more.

Mark Wahlberg Is Ready to Get in the Ring

Marky Mark was looking all Entourage-esque as he glanced back at his fans after stopping by Live With Regis and Kelly yesterday. He's busy promoting his new movie, We Own the Night, but Mark is already buzzing about his upcoming role in The Fighter. Mark has been training for a year to prepare to play legendary boxer Micky Ward, and playing one of his heroes isn't something he takes lightly. He said,

"For me, it's a dream come true. It's much like when I did 'Invincible'; I'd always dreamed of being a football player. For five or six months, to get the pads on and do the whole thing. This is [another] dream come true."

"'Irish' Micky Ward was, in my opinion, one of the greatest champions of all time, and the biggest heart that ever stepped into the ring. I am committed to making him proud, and I know that Brad feels the same way about portraying his brother Dickie. We are going to make it real."

It sounds to us like Mark is ready for his second Oscar nomination already. We're hoping Brad gets buff a la Fight Club for this role. Talk about movie manjoyment!

Diane Kruger Likes Being One of the Boys

Diane Kruger was up early this morning in NYC for an appearance on Live With Regis and Kelly. She's dedicated to getting out there to promote Inglourious Basterds with premieres across the globe, though she also finds time to unwind by partying with Brad and Angelina. At a recent press junket, Diane gushed about her admiration for Brad and talked about how comfortable she was working with him - check out the video of her interview here. She also had lots to say about Quentin Tarantino and drinking with the cast in Berlin. Here's more:

On Inglourious's male-oriented cast : "It's fun being one of the boys. It's fun to play a character that is tough and gets down and dirty and not to be this precious little piece that sits in the corner and just stands by the action."
On filming the movie in Berlin: "It [was] nice to be able to go home, my family [was] two hours away. I love the German food! Every Friday on Quentin's sets, the crew drinks and everybody goes. There's a bar we would go to all the time called Tarantino's. The owner is Quentin's biggest fan, the whole place is filled with memorabilia. Of course, he's never met Quentin. One night Quentin walks in, Brad Pitt right behind him with the entire cast. The guy nearly had a heart attack. I mean, can you imagine?"
On what she's most grateful for: "That I'm still here. That I'm sitting here today. Who knew? Knock on wood. It's been a journey and finally things are turning around, I think."

On auditioning for Tarantino: "The tough part is to get the job. He's one of the last directors in Hollywood who gets away with only hiring the actors he absolutely wants for a part - he would not have hired Brad Pitt if he wasn't Aldo Raine. It was hard for me to get the job, he had someone else in mind. He didn't believe I was German. It's like 'for god's sake, what's next?' He saw every actress in Germany, so you know you have to deliver in the room. Once I got hired, it was a walk in the park. I mean it was a very challenging part and there were hard days at the office. I haven't been allowed, in America at least, to play quite such a strong, tough, fierce woman. His dialogue is great, but it's not easy. You have to read it a few times. It's not your typical Hollywood shebang."
On her favorite TV shows: "Mad Men is my favorite show. I do like Fringe, of course. I'm a little biased, I wasn't going to bring that up."
On working with Josh: "He's pretty busy right now, so I don't think that for the next couple years there's going to be any projects between the two of us. I want to be one of the gooey monsters that gets killed on Fringe. It would be so fun."

Megan Gets a Little Help Finding Her Rose Boy

Megan Fox stood out in bright colors as she stopped by Live With Regis and Kelly today to film her appearance airing tomorrow. Transformers 2 is already raking it in at the box office and for better or worse Megan's sexy portrayal in the film is sure to help, even if most of you don't think she's the next Angelina Jolie. Her costar Shia made a fan's day this morning, and Megan might have a chance to do the same. Kodak is offering $5,000 to the first person who finds the boy she accidentally snubbed so that they can arrange a reunion.

Nicole Brings Her House to Regis and Kelly's

Nicole Richie was decked out in House of Harlow jewelry for her appearance this morning on Regis and Kelly. She and her family arrived in Miami just last night, but Nicole seemed well rested as she took to Twitter before the show to express her excitement. Nicole glowed in her baby bump-friendly maxi dress for the first stop on her short promotional tour, and next up is a meet and greet with fans at a department store.

Ben Affleck Plays Along For Morning Television

He's taking a break from the Massachusetts set of The Company Men and spending time in NYC to promote State of Play before it opens tomorrow. In his chat with Matt Lauer, Ben opened up about researching his politician role in Congress, postponing his project with Matt Damon, and what he's doing to prepare for his young daughters eventually dating.

Drew's in Black and White to Talk About Grey Gardens

Drew Barrymore was out in NYC this morning to film an appearance on Live With Regis and Kelly. Her segment will air on Friday, the day before Grey Gardens debuts on HBO. She's been doing lots of promotion for the film, including interviews with both Elle and W, and she's rolling solo since her costar Jessica Lange has been recuperating from a fall. Drew opened up about how hard she worked to fully embody her iconic character, and she seems determined get her movie out there in typically high spirits.

LC Is Mad For Plaid in NYC

Though she was a few days too late for Fashion Week, Lauren Conrad showed off her award-winning style skills yesterday in NYC as she made the rounds to promote both the Spring collection of her fashion line and the upcoming episodes of The Hills. Perhaps a new story twist will include how LC's Spring line will be doing in comparison to Heidi's newly announced collection. All her hard work has certainly paid off with the $2.36 million Hollywood mansion she recently purchased, and Casa has more details and pictures of her new bachelorette pad. Even though Lauren looks cozy in her big plaid coat, we're sure she's ready to trade all those layers for the California sunshine.
