Oct 20 2009 - 8:30am The
Elle Women in Hollywood Awards brought out some of the town's biggest names last night. The ceremony was held to coincide with the magazine's
similarly themed upcoming issue, and cover girl Katie Holmes hit the cream carpet to show her support. Apparently Suri helped Katie select her all-black outfit, and the proud mom even opened up about their
adventures in Boston.

i LOVE that katie's hair is growing out
she looks GREAT here.
1Renee Zellweger's "from behind shot" is a FAIL!
2Katie Holmes has done nothing in comparison to so many of the women in attendance except marry a powerful Hollywood man with connections.
And why are her responses to interview questions always so generic and flat-sounding? She really offers no signs of intelligent life.
3Yikes--agreed, tiabia.
Katie Holmes has to be the most boring person on the face of the planet. Are we really giving raves to a plain black skirt and top? And last week it was Tom who picked out her clothes and now it's Suri? Guess she really does have no mind of her own.
Plus, weren't there several different Elle covers dedicated to several different women honored at this event? Surely Katie isn't the one PopSugar thinks is leading the pack...out of others like Emily Blunt and Julie Freakin' Andrews? LOL...
4That's a nice collection of photos of lovely looking women. They all pretty much got it right decorating themselves.
5Zellweger fail? Not to my way of thinking. I see some very fit and toned gams.
What were they thinking to *honor* Katie Holmes!? My guess is that Tom Cruise resorted to a Christmas stimulus check for them to think of her.
6I heart Emily Blunt. Did she have her lips done?
7Emily is glowing. It's definitely that newly-engaged (or wed?) glow!
8Emily is so pretty!
I'm disappointed with the dress Diane picked though she is usually more smart in the fashion department, this one just doesn't do anything for me.
9I'm surprised to see someone like Diane Kruger, who just did an amazing photo spread for Elle and gave such a strong female performance in Quentin Tarantino's movie (one of the biggest box office hits of the year), not on the list of honorees this year.
It makes the inclusion of someone like Katie Holmes even more irritating and irrelevant.
10Maybe it's the angle, but I just see a row of bobble-heads.
11eeek someone needs to give renee a cheeseburger, stat!!!
emily knocked it out of the park. i think i have a new girl crush...
i'm also a little bored by diane, usually i love everything!
12Katie looked awesome and everyone else looked great.
13Emily Blunt and Robin Wright look gorgeous!
14hey pop.....i think you mean kat DEELEY, not kat dennings...
15Katie is classy and so beautiful.
16Yay Julie Andrews! Of all the ladies Katie looks lovely and her dress is simple yet unique.
17Katie deserves to be in this amazing company and promising company. Its not just honoring past glories but future ones. Blunt,Kruger,Zaldana even past honorees like Halle Barry,J-Lo,Beckinsale,Isla Fisher have a lot to prove. Katie for a young actress has a diverse work from tv,movies and broadway and her indie cred is impressive. She can sing and dance also active in her fashion line and very giving and kind to her charities like Violence for Women and so supportive of our veterans and our police and firemen.
18Im not a fan of Renee but I think she looks fab. Everyone looks good especially Katie,Renee,Kat Deeley,Julie Andrews and Robin Wright.
19Emily and John look adorable.
20Emily Blunt looks old and she reminds me of a Katy Perry look alike. Where's the pic of the lovely Zoey Deschanel & more Julie Andrews?
21Holmes is a doll and what a pretty skirt she's got on.
Anonymous No 18...Halle Berry is the first (and only) African American woman to have won an Oscar.
I'm curious as to what you think she still has or needs to "prove".
"hey pop.....i think you mean kat DEELEY, not kat dennings..."
Kat Dennings was at the event and there is a photo of her included there.
