RDJ Googles Himself and Loves Making Blockbusters
Robert Downey Jr. and Guy Ritchie looked very chummy on the set of Sherlock Holmes in Brooklyn yesterday. It was a big day for RDJ getting an Oscar nomination for Tropic Thunder about which he said, "It just shows you how far everyone in entertainment and politics has come." Robert also recently sat down with some fellow nominees for Newsweek's annual roundtable discussion.
Sherlock Might Head Home For Golden Globes
Robert Downey Jr., Rachel McAdams, and Jude Law were all dressed up for another day on the set of Sherlock Holmes in Brooklyn yesterday. Robert and Rachel stayed warm and happy between takes while Jude wore a serious face to go with his fake blood. This weekend Robert will be up for a Golden Globe for his performance in Tropic Thunder, so hopefully he'll get to take a couple of days off to head to the west coast.
Robert Downey Jr. Still Has a Lot To Smile About
Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan may not be the front-runners in your favorite Oscar couple poll, but the two smiled their whole way from the red carpet to the afterparties. On Tuesday they were all recovered from the festivities and enjoyed a day out in Santa Monica with his son, Indio. No one really expected RDJ to win the Best Supporting Actor award on Sunday, but it was fun to see him nominated for the over-the-top role.
Rachel McAdams Is Seriously Pink For Sherlock Holmes
Rachel McAdams spent some quality time in hair and makeup before donning a spectacularly pink dress on the set of Sherlock Holmes in Brooklyn yesterday. While there is still another Sherlock Holmes movie in the works starring Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen, we've already gotten quite a taste for this more serious production. Though with comedic Oscar nominee Robert Downey Jr. on set, it can't be all work and no play for the cute cast.

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal headed out to watch the Lakers play in LA last night. The home team had a celebrity front row as usual to beat the Portland Trailblazers. Long-time bball player Jake looks like he pointed a few things out to Reese during the game.

Robert Downey Jr. was dressed to face the British weather as he left his Manchester hotel earlier today. He made his way over to the set of Sherlock Holmes, joining Guy Ritchie and Jude Law to film a scene that involved him jumping out of a window. Robert should get used to all the action — he's just signed on to do two more Iron Man movies as well as the superhero flick The Avengers.
Madonna and Guy Keep Their Divorce Civil For the Kids
Guy Ritchie brought Rocco and David to the set of Sherlock Holmes in Liverpool earlier today. Madonna and Guy's divorce will be made official tomorrow after a month of ugly accusations from both sides, and it seems like everything is working out for their kids. Apparently the two will share custody of Rocco and David as the boys split their time between New York and London.
Jason Bourne and Iron Man's Double Date
Who knew Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr were friends? The twosome were out with their wives in Miami this weekend dining at Quattro Gastronomia. It seems like such an odd pairing, but maybe the boys are pairing up sometime soon on the big screen.
RDJ Goes From Superhero to Sherlock Holmes
On the surface, it was just a typical day in the life of Robert Downey Jr. as he stopped by Foot Locker with his wife in NYC, but yesterday the Internet was abuzz with the news of his next project. Robert has signed on to play Sherlock Holmes in Guy Ritchie's adaptation of the story. Between this Summer's Iron Man, comedy Tropic Thunder next month, dramatic The Soloist out next year and now this, RDJ is certainly keeping his career diverse and interesting.
