Kate Hudson brought Ryder out in Santa Monica last night to take in a performance from Cirque du Soleil. Despite Kate's hectic schedule promoting Nine, she's had lots of time to spend with her son during their trip to California. Alex Rodriguez, though, was the guy by Kate's side on Sunday at the American Music Awards.
Angie Gets Recognized For Her Mighty Heart
Angelina Jolie kept that maybe baby bump covered up with a loose shirt and skirt combo as she picked up her award for Outstanding Performance of the Year at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Saturday. Between Brad's facial hair and Angie's outfit, these aren't our favorite photos of the usually polished couple, but even Hollywood's most beautiful people are entitled to their bad days. Clint Eastwood presented Angie with the award for A Mighty Heart, and she made it clear that these two developed a close bond on the set of The Changeling.
Santa Barbara Honors the Year's Film Virtuosos
The Santa Barbara Film Festival is still bringing out the stars. First I marveled at the cavalcade of hot guys — Gosling, Bardem, Reynolds — and last night some of the year's biggest breakout stars all trekked out for the party. It was the 2008 Virtuosos Tribute with Casey Affleck, Amy Ryan, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, and James McAvoy, all awards show staples this season.
Javier Brings His Manjoyment To Accept Another Statue
Mr. Handsome Javier Bardem got yet another award to add to his rapidly growing collection at the Santa Barbara Film Festival last night. He was chosen as the recipient of the Montecito Award Tribute and his No Country For Old Men costar Woody was there to support his boy after the whole group of them nabbed the best cast award at Sunday's SAG Awards.
Diane Celebrates Quentin's Excellence in Film
Diane Kruger was in Santa Barbara last night to present her Inglourious Basterds director Quentin Tarantino with the fourth annual Kirk Douglas Award For Excellence at the city's film festival. It was Diane's second big ceremony of the week, after getting dressed up to salute the women of Hollywood on Monday evening. Diane posed for a few photos solo before heading inside, where she took the stage to say a few words about her friend and colleague.
Johnny Depp Steps Out to Appreciate Art
Johnny Depp has been laying low as usual recently, but he smiled and posed at Frank Pictures Gallery where the work of artists Kellisimone Waits and Tiffany Trenda was being shown in Santa Monica on Sunday. Kellisimone's father, Tom Waits, is a friend of Johnny's and a costar in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Johnny hit the stage to accept an award and hand one out to Keith Richards at last month's Scream Awards, but otherwise Depp's been hard at work on a handful of movies including the anticipated Alice in Wonderland — check out the awesome new poster for it here!
Ryan Gosling Deserves an Independent Tribute
I gotta give a big old bravo to the Santa Barbara Film Festival for really luring in the hotness this year. First Ryan Reynolds premiered his movie there, then Monday evening Javier Bardem was in the house getting an award, and last night Ryan Gosling made the minor trek into town for the Independent Award Tribute. Solid work, SBFF!

Diane Kruger joined Jessica Stroup and Lily Collins in LA last night to preview Jason Wu's Spring 2010 collection at Neiman Marcus. It was a special night about fashion for Diane, who's been busy with movie events like the Santa Barbara Film Festival and the Hollywood Awards. She opened up about how perfect Jason's dresses are for hitting the red carpet, and his gowns should come in handy with all the press she'll have to do for her upcoming projects.
Harlow Madden Is a Big Sister in Training
Nicole Richie had Harlow in her arms yesterday for an afternoon of toy shopping in Santa Monica. The girls picked up some goodies from an all-natural toy store as they continue to prepare for the arrival of Harlow's sibling in a few months. Nicole and Joel are also getting ready for their new addition with their recent purchase of a bigger home, where the future family of four will have many happy playdates.
