If we had to describe Dolce & Gabbana's Fall 2012 collection in one word, it would be opulent. Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have a knack for capturing the essence and unbridled spirit of the Italian woman, and for Fall they showed a luxe, Sicilian Baroque-inspired collection of lace, elaborate brocade embroidery, and sleek, sexy silhouettes. The show opened with stunning rose-covered chandeliers and sweeping floral arrangements to the music of authentic Italian opera - big names like Natasha Poly, Bianca Balti, and Joan Smalls graced the runway in delicate lace dresses with lavish gold embellishments, sweet, frothy frocks in layers of tulle, and ruffled bloomers that would make even Sophia Loren blush. The plunging necklines of Spring '12 were replaced with ladylike high ruffles and bow-ties, and although sheer lace was prevalent, most hemlines stayed well below the knee for a true sophisticated spin on la dolce vita. The bold needlepoint-style florals and cherubic mural prints will also be an editorial dream come Fall - we can already see stars like Blake Lively and Sarah Jessica Parker getting shot in them. Colors: Black, white, nude, gold.
Key Piece: The sheer lace dress with brocade cape, the gold-encrusted party dress with black veil.
Accessories: Bejeweled headbands, decadent drop earrings and statement necklaces, velvet evening bags, lace knee socks, carved wood heels.
Who Would Wear It: Risk-takers like Zoe Saldana, Anna Dello Russo, and Lana Del Rey, not to mention Dame Helen Mirren, who sat front row at the show.

Dolce & Gabbana Prove Which Color Will Be in For Spring

OnSugar blog The Fash Pack calls it: white is all the rage for Spring, per Dolce & Gabbana's white hot collection.

In case you had any doubt, white will be popular for Spring. The design duo at Dolce & Gabbana celebrated their quarter-century collection with a show done nearly all in white - and, according to Mr. Domenico and Mr. Stefano, they based it all on the items that would go in a bride's hope chest before she marries.

The collection ranged from semi-virginal minidresses decked out with lace, eyelet detail, and embroidered appliques, to satin lingerie that likely would stop a groom's heartbeat. It was refreshing to see a collection that was, simply put, pretty. Crystal detailing on a chiffon-overlay sheath dress took our breath away, and on the simpler side, a sheer cotton eyelet sundress has us missing the warmer months already.

Fab Ad: D&G Goes Skiing For Fall '10

While we bask in the Summer sun, take a quick moment to feel the chill of D&G's Fall ad campaign. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana hired a gaggle of gorgeous male and female models, dressed them up in the chicest of gear, albeit not ski-friendly, and snapped away, while they froze away. Although it's crazy to stand in snowy 'scapes in sheer clothes, I love the idea of fusing ready-to-wear with ski-wear. It's insanely cool - the oversize goggles, skis, and boots are playing nice with ruffles, knits, and suits. Do you agree?

2010 Spring Milan Fashion Week: Dolce & Gabbana

It was all about passion and romance at Dolce & Gabbana's Spring showing at Milan Fashion Week. Showing utmost creative capability, the designers made a heavenly mix of sexy menswear-inspired suits, lace dresses, floral-printed separates, blouson shorts, and tiered frocks. "[The collection] is sexy, but not too sexy. . . . We're talking about sensuality," said Domenico Dolce. And that they did via bold, leopard prints, scintillating corsets, and a slick play on see-through dressing via black netting and mesh.

There was no limit to their imagination - the duo drew influences spanning from Madonna to Sicily - and created something for everyone. Classic, sophisticated gals will undoubtedly immerse themselves in Dolce & Gabbana's vintage white-lace dresses; hip darlings can revel in their floral and animal printed pieces; and sporty minimalists can celebrate in their selection of tailored suits. The emerging odd trend of the season - pantless one-pieces - were prominent and some of my favorite for Spring thus far. Bravi Domenico and Stefano!

Eva Brings Her Collection of Prints Aboard D&G's Yacht

Eva Mendes and her boyfriend George were in Portofino over the weekend enjoying a few days aboard Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana's boat. Eva kept her bikini body covered with a leopard print caftan yesterday morning, after wearing a similarly patterned dress for dinner on Sunday. She and George have been in Italy for the 2009 Giffoni Film Festival, where she's serving on the jury. Eva was able to escape her duties and enjoy a little fun in the sun, as one of the latest stars to pay Domenico and Stefano a visit on their always-popular yacht.

Madonna Lets Jesus Be the Golden Boy For the Evening

Madonna performed in Milan last night before joining Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana at their Gold restaurant. Jesus Luz was her date for the evening, which probably made him happy since he's apparently been getting jealous of all the time Madonna spends with Guy Ritchie. Jesus may like a lot of attention, but he'll have to learn to share since Madonna already has a full schedule between touring and raising a family.
