Sep 12 2008 - 1:30pm Eva Mendes took a break from all her
Fashion Week duties last night to attend a screening of
The Women in NYC with her costars Jada Pinkett Smith, Meg Ryan, and Debi Mazar. Unlike last week's
big premiere in LA, Annette Bening and Debra Messing sat this one out, but Julia Stiles and Bette Midler stepped in. Even Mick Jagger, who is one of the film's producers, joined them for the afterparty at the Gramercy Park Hotel — though it probably wasn't hard to convince him to spend the evening surrounded by beautiful ladies.

Julia Stiles one of my favourites, where she disssapeared?
1I'm a huge Debi Mazar fan so I'm definately gonna go see this movie! Eva & Jada look beautiful!
2I am hearing whispers that this movie is no good.
I wanted it to be really good! I will
probably end up seeing it anyway. The original was amazing!
3Meg Ryan looks like the Jack Nicholson version of the joker when she smiles. Scary.
4it's definitely a movie that's going to have a niche audience - and i hope that it does well since the cast seems really impressive -but i don't know if movies like this every have a GREAT draw. we can just wait and see and hope right?
5Omg thats what i was thinking about Meg too.She looked like the Joker.
6It always seems like comedies with all women casts never get good reviews. What's that all about??
7Way too much estrogen for me. I think I'll pass.
8Bri, I'm hearing that too and it makes me sad. I adore Meg Ryan. Her movie "City of Angels" with Nicolas Cage is one of my all time favorites, and my husband has her as #1 on his "Top 5 women I can sleep with" list. LOLOL
She's a hero in our house.
9And what the F did Meg Ryan do to her face? Wow. Just wow.
10LucyS I was just about to say that!!!!! She really does look like the Joker.
11Meg Ryans face...............
12Everyone looks great except Meg and Eva. I miss Julia Stiles too so its cool to see her in this event. Is she part of the film?
13wow... not sure if any of these ladies are A actresses anymore... I miss the old Meg
14Bette Midler in 'First Wives Club' oh my goodness; I'm watching that tonight! Hilarious...Is Jada exempt from aging? no fair.
15This film will suck. The reviews have also been abysmal.
16I saw the movie last night, and while the clothes were fun to watch, it wasn't very good. The friendship between the 4 "leads" wasn't well developed, and the characters played by Debbie and Jada were especially flat. I did enjoy Debi Mazar, though- I love her in entourage and was pleasantly surprised in this role. I also didn't like how Eva Mendes played her role as the seductress.
To be fair, though, I thought Meg looked great in the movie- much better than she looks in these photos.
The original is going to be on TCM this afternoon, so I am definitely going to DVR it!!
17I saw this yesterday, and while the original is one of my all-time favs, this one wasn't bad, just wasn't anything to scream about. There are some outright funny lines, but it just felt like the original had more warmth and humour, whereas this one seemed "cattier".
Oh and Meg looked fine in the film, but I saw her on Letterman last night and she looks scary! Why are these women destroying their beautiful faces?
18Julia Stiles looks great
19Meg Ryan does look scary now, I miss her looks from When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle (pre-plastic surgery). lucyS, I was thinking the same thing as you...she resembles the Joker.
20Oh my gud, Meg Ryan is scary!! Too much botox or is it plastic surgery that makes them all look alike, transvestites!
