The Dark Knight Presses On Overseas

The stars of The Dark Knight came out early in Tokyo this morning to keep the Batman mania going overseas. Christian Bale and Maggie Gyllenhaal showed off their smiles, while Aaron Eckhart looked a little serious after the big premiere last night. As usual, Christian made sure to pay homage to his dear friend Heath Ledger, saying, "I enjoyed very much our first scene together . . . because it was the first time I got to see what Heath was really going to do . . . Also, you could see how much he got [by] playing this character. He really got satisfaction out of it." With his tragic passing still fresh in our minds, it's beautiful to see that Heath is very much a part of one of the last movies he poured his heart into.

Christian, Maggie and Aaron Bring their No. 1 Knight to Tokyo

Christian Bale was a lucky man with his two beautiful girls - wife Sibi and adorable daughter Emmeline - arriving in Japan over the weekend before tonight's Tokyo premiere. While the cast showed off yet another set of suits and dresses, their Batman movie was still firmly planted at the top of the box office. The Dark Knight was no. 1 at the box office again, breaking the $300 million barrier and the record for a film's second weekend. Meanwhile, Bale's co-workers are making sure to clear up any residual rumors about his bad behavior starting with Terminator Salvation director McG who said, "He's the most professional, passionate actor you're ever going to find. I mean it's just that simple. . . . Bale is just all about the work. He loves his wife, he loves his child, he loves being an actor. . . . He wants to come to work prepared."

Christian and Maggie Light Up The Dark Knight in Barcelona

Christian Bale seemed to put his very public recent troubles behind him as he made his way down the red carpet with his wife Sibi at the Barcelona premiere of The Dark Knight yesterday evening. Bale apparently avoided reporters but spent lots of time signing autographs - he even had a bit of a smile on his face. His co-stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and Aaron Eckhart also made the trip over from the UK to attend the Spanish screening. As it gets ready to hit screens overseas, the film continues to smash records. After being out only five days, it just passed Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead's Man Chest as the fastest movie to net $200 million. It has also already made more than Batman Begins did in its entire run - pretty incredible.

Dozens Of Stars Light Up The Dark Knight In London

A huge number of British celebrities joined the cast of The Dark Knight for its European premiere in London's Leicester Square yesterday. Maggie and Aaron brought their effortless glamour to Michael Caine's home turf while Peaches Geldof smiled ahead of today's reports of a drug overdose. Christian Bale is also facing some pretty tough rumours today, with allegations he assaulted his mother and sister emerging. Last night was all about the film, however, and fresh from T4 On The Beach McFly posed on the red carpet alongside an apparently not engaged Kelly Osbourne and girls of the moment Daisy Lowe and Alexa Chung. Get yourself even more excited for the movie by reading my review - it's sure to be the UK's number one hit this summer, following those huge figures at the US box office.

The Dark Knight Brings Gotham to London

After spending the weekend with their adorable little girl, leading man Christian Bale had his gorgeous wife on his arm at the London premiere of The Dark Knight. Gorgeous Maggie sexed it up in her revealing jumpsuit but maintained the all black dress code, as did Kelly Osbourne who still showed off some leg. After the amazing record-breaking opening weekend success the movie enjoyed in the states this weekend, we'll have to see how its magic translates overseas. From the looks of it though, The Dark Knight's reign has just begun.

The Dark Knight Falls on NYC

The long anticipated premiere of The Dark Knight finally arrived last night, and the stars dressed accordingly to the movie's title. Maggie Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, and Lauren Conrad all looked gorgeous in muted tones, while Christian Bale continued to prove that he looks hot in any color. Of course, there was one very important star missing but Heath Ledger's family and friends like Naomi Watts were there in his place, while his castmates had plenty to say in tribute to the late actor. Christian said,

"Working with Heath was fantastic. He steals the movie and I'm quite happy to say that. He's a hell of a talent and created a joker that's very iconic and one that will become a classic portrayal of the ages."

While the film's premiere was a bittersweet event, the rave reviews will hopefully make The Dark Knight the box office smash hit that will help honor Heath's memory forever.

I'm starting to think that the people behind the viral marketing for The Dark Knight are geniuses. For a movie that doesn't even open until next summer, they've managed to generate an awful lot of buzz around this next Batman movie. The latest ploy: releasing 18 new images from the set of the movie, some of which hint at plot details previously unknown (multiple people in Batman costumes?). Sneak Peek On The Set Of The Dark Knight!

While Katie Holmes is off having some fun in the sun in Cannes, Maggie Gyllenhaal has been hard at work to fill Katie's shoes as Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight. One fan was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Maggie and Aaron Eckhart on the movie set in Chicago. Anthony Michael Hall, who played the lovably geeky Brian in The Breakfast Club also just signed on to the movie, but his part is top secret. We have to say that it's looking like Maggie is making a pretty easy transition into Katie's role. Now if only we could get a peek at yummy Christian Bale in the batsuit.
