Agent Mulder Is Back and It's About Time!

As if David Duchovny's return to the small screen as one of the best characters ever (or at least of 2007) wasn't exciting enough - now the X-Files movie is finally filming! Earlier this week we got the exciting news that the cast has grown including Amanda Peet as an agent! It's been way too long since Mulder and Scully paired up but considering the craziness of the writers' strike, we're happy to hear that some films weren't delayed, especially this one. That said, we can't decide if we love Fox Mulder more than Californication's Hank Moody but one thing's for sure, David D is on the rise again and we couldn't be more thrilled!

David Duchovny Returns to Small Screen and Maybe The Big Screen as Agent Mulder

BuzzSugar declared Californication as one of the reasons to watch TV this summer and we're counting down to the premiere along with our favorite Showtime series, Weeds (now hopefully improved with the adorable MK!). We've been waiting for the return of David Duchovny ever since the season finale of X-Files in 2002. We got one X-Files movie, but we were told many more were to come to fruition. Now it seems as if it may be one step closer to happening. DD said key members are on board and he's getting a script soon.

Another reason to tune into Showtime's Californication - the series includes Natascha McElhone, Jim Carrey's love interest from one of my all time favorite movies, The Truman Show!

We Want to Believe The X-Files Sequel Will Be a Hit

Last night the LA premiere of X-Files reunited David Duchovny (who is looking in need of a haircut) and a pregnant Gillian Anderson. The FBI agents have a new set of costars, including the adorable Amanda Peet who looked beautiful in her fancy feathered dress. Diane Kruger went uncharacteristically casual, but of course pulled it off looking fabulous in jeans and a basic tee. We've been looking forward to the sequel for a while, but so far the reviews are mixed. Stay tuned for Buzz's review and probably more news from Comic-Con. Lucky for us if Agent Mulder doesn't score the top spot this weekend at the box office, then at least we can watch David as a witty jack*ss in Californication this Fall on Showtime!

David Duchovny spent his weekend in his favorite holey pants doing everyday dad things like picking up Starbucks and hanging out with his son Kyd. Between the amazing Californication and the highly anticipated X-Files: I Want to Believe Mr Handsome certainly looks great back in the spotlight. David Duchovny Believes in London

David Duchovny left the red carpet in LA and hopped over to London to promote The X-Files: I Want To Believe. He was out looking casually cute as usual - or not, you decide. So far, the movie's been a disappointment in the box office, bringing in only $10.2 million last weekend compared to the first one's opening weekend of $30 million in 1998. David doesn't seem to be too upset, though, and showed off his good nature in an interview with the Daily Mail. Here are some highlights:

On his childhood dreams: "I never dreamed of acting. I loved basketball and dreamt about being an athlete and a writer; those were my two ambitions. I never had any firm plans, though, they were just childhood fantasies. But somebody should've told me that I was never going to make it as an athlete; I wasn't good enough."
On being famous: "Fame for me at this point is something I can't make go away; I just don't want it to be infamy. I love what I do, I get paid well, I'm happy with my life and am very grateful, but I don't do it for the fame. I understand fame, I accept it and I get it, but as an introvert it makes me uncomfortable. But you know, poor pitiful me - whatever - it's just tough."
On what he's trying to give up: "Ego, delusion, insecurity, fear of failure. It's like the Samuel Becket line 'Fail again, fail better,' so I am always trying to fail better, not feel better."

On believing in the paranormal: "I have not seen any paranormal evidence, but I do have suspicions. I think it makes more sense to believe that there is more to the world than just the physical, and that there are more forms of life than live on this earth. I am open to spirituality, but not to quackery and things that are clearly ridiculous. But if I saw as much evidence to point to the existence of the paranormal as Mulder did, I would be open to it all, certainly."
On a funny fan experience: "Nobody has ever confused me with Mulder, but years ago I was in an elevator in Chicago and a guy said: 'Good morning doctor.' I was like, OK. And then I realised he thought I was Noah Wyle from ER, which is set in Chicago, so I said: 'You've got the wrong show there, chief.'"
On family: "Just being at home with my family is great. Tea and I are lucky. Our relationship just keeps getting deeper - which is exciting. My kids don't care about the work I do. Children just care about having a stable home, having a mom and dad, and we spend a lot of time with them. We try to work at different times so that we are not both away too much. I don't believe there is just one person for you. I believe there are a number of them and that it is all a matter of timing and luck whether you find any of them."

David sounds like he has a great attitude about life, especially when it comes to his family. Whether or not his movie does better overseas, seems like this actor is one thing we can believe in. Now, we can't wait to see him when he returns as Californication's Hank Moody this Fall.

I Want to Believe in Sequels

Gillian Anderson was looking great with costar (and always a favorite) David Duchovny at some geek convention this weekend in San Francisco. They debuted a teaser trailer for the second X-Files movie, and while it took long enough to get these guys back together, we will patiently wait to see Scully and Mulder reunite. It's a bonus that one of our favorite small screen shows can produce big screen blockbusters, and we're counting down the days until its release on July 25. Hopefully the movie will coincide with the return of DD on the small screen in Californication (my favorite new show last Summer). Double Duchovny!

You Better Believe That David Duchovny Can Make You Laugh

The day after The X-Files: I Want to Believe had its big LA premiere, David Duchovny stopped by The Late Show looking handsome in his jeans and blazer. Unfortunately, the movie isn't getting great reviews, including from Buzz - maybe just enjoy the X-Files trivia quiz instead. David didn't talk much about the film, but he had us laughing with his stories of his first Summer job, how he's moving to NYC for the old people, and his son's embarrassingly placed bee sting. Even if the movie isn't a huge hit, we're even more excited to have him back for season two of Californication soon.

Amanda Peet Is Not One For Weather Extremes

Amanda Peet looked pretty and smiled big with her tousled hair - love it or hate it? on her way into The Late Show yesterday. The actress, who recently apologized for her controversial vaccination comments, kept things light with Dave promoting her new movie The X-Files: I Want to Believe, which opens this Friday. Amanda joked with Dave about being nervous, how her baby Frances still doesn't talk much, and called herself a drama queen for fainting in the NYC heat. Joshua Has No Shame About Showing Off His Style

Joshua Jackson didn't seem to mind the Summer temperatures as he posed for photos in NYC on Sunday before putting on layered cardigans for last night's Fringe premiere party with his costars. He looked great both ways, though Joshua is more than happy to let his girlfriend Diane Kruger take credit for his stellar style even when she's not by his side. He opened up to InStyle about his newfound appreciation for clothes and his recent immersion in the world of high fashion. Here's more:

On how Diane has affected his wardrobe: "When you're dating a European woman, the slovenly way of dressing will not do. But the reality is, I've also grown up a lot in the last five years, and not getting dressed up is partly teenage rebellion. I obviously held on to that for too long. But I don't want to get into wearing the uniform of the thirty-year-old actor either: the beanie guy, the scarf guy. It defeats the purpose of individual expression. If I ever have a fashion relapse, Diane lets me know."
On awkward celebrity run-ins: "My first Cannes experience was my first true fashion moment. The tradition is that the director escorts his leading lady up the stairs - which left me dateless. So my 'date' for the evening became Karl Lagerfeld. There's little Canadian me sitting next to Karl Lagerfeld for four and a half hours. It was pretty comical."

On when he started to care about clothes: "My education in the world of high fashion started with Diane. It's not something that particularly interested me before. That said, I don't think I'll ever rabidly follow trends. The big thing for me is finding clothes that I can wear, rather than clothes that wear me."
On what style meant to him growing up in British Columbia: "My mother raised two children entirely by herself, which was spectacular of her. I didn't grow up in a house that catered to fashion. It was more about function."
On returning to TV: "Frankly, Fringe is more to my taste than something like Dawson's Creek. I didn't grow up watching 90210; I grew up watching the X-Files."

We've always had a soft spot for Pacey Whitter, and we can't wait to see Josh back on the small screen in one of the most anticipated new Fall shows.
