It is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I don't want you to be thinking it is not a disease you need to worry about if you are young. I hate to use scare tactics, but younger and younger women are getting diagnosed with breast cancer!
I had the pleasure of talking to one plucky lady, Carolyn Dippel, and learning the story of her battle with breast cancer.

NEW YORK, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Avon Foundation today announced that Reese Witherspoon will be a special guest at the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Washington, DC on Sunday, May 4, 2008, the second day of the weekend-long event. Witherspoon, the Avon Global Ambassador and Honorary Chair of the Avon Foundation, will spend time throughout the day with the thousands of Walk participants, including walkers, crew and volunteers, who are raising lifesaving funds and awareness to advance access to care and finding a cure for breast cancer. Reese Witherspoon - Children's Defense Fund Academy Award Winning actress, Reese Witherspoon serves on the Board of Directors at CDF. She first learned about CDF while reading a book by its President Marian Wright Edelman entitled, The Measure of Our Success: A Letter to My Children and Yours, during a road trip from Nashville to Stanford University.
