The Olympic Games went by WAY too fast.
I know that I've been ranting and raving about the judging/mishaps/stupidity in various olympic sports lately but, that didn't stop me from enjoying them. Well, maybe a little.

In a stunning upset, Chicago was ousted in the first round of voting to host the 2016 Olympics.
Chicago received the fewest number of votes in the first round, despite its star-studded last-minute pitch.
Tokyo was voted out soon after.

Sorry, Oprah, Michael Phelps and David Cook, but Time's Person of the Year is Barack Obama, the magazine's managing editor, Rick Stengel, announced on Wednesday's Today show.
"He hit the American scene like a thunderclap, upended our politics, shattered decades of conventional wisdom and overcame centuries of the social pecking order," Time reports in its cover story.
The president-elect, which was, by most predictions, the likeliest candidate for the publication's yearly honor, was singled out for being a "transformational figure" in a transformational year, Stengel said on Today.

The upcoming Beijing Olympics is more than just a point of pride for China — it's such an important part of the national consciousness that nearly 3,500 children have been named for the event, a newspaper reported Sunday.
Most of the 3,491 people with the name "Aoyun," meaning Olympics, were born around the year 2000, as Beijing was bidding to host the 2008 Summer Games, the Beijing Daily reported, citing information from China's national identity card database.
The vast majority of people named Aoyun are male, the newspaper said.

Leona Lewis and soccer ace David Beckham have reportedly been lined up to star in the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics in China this summer.
To mark China’s official handover of the global sporting event to Britain for the London 2012 Games, the L.A. Galaxy player will make an appearance while Bleeding Love hitmaker Lewis will sing to an estimated audience of over 150 million.
