By Dana Milbank (washingtonpost.com)

The lawmakers gazed in awe at the figure before them. The Goracle had seen the future, and he had come to tell them about it.

An Inconvenient Truth (2006)
Director Davis Guggenheim's documentary is built around a series of lectures that Al Gore has been giving around the country about global warming. Sound boring, right? I mean, Former Vice President Al Gore was made fun of all the time on SNL for being boring.

I found this to be reasonably entertaining, but a little bit too scientific for my taste. I mean, I'm generally not a big documentary fan and this one felt like I was in a college lecture hall. Al Gore is very captivating, like any good professor, but I was still zoning out a little.

The change we need
After eight long, tiresome years, President Al Gore won't be missed. Even if he did save the planet
TA Frank
The Guardian, Wednesday 14 January 2009
Article history
No one thought Al Gore would be a loveable president, but, after eight years in the White House, he has gotten truly tiresome. The droning voice, the purchase of an eco-friendly robot dog, the campaign for carbon-free diamonds - all these things were hard to take, and he has been way too smug about reversing global warming.

Kristin Gore, the daughter of Nobel Prize-winning politician Al Gore, is hard at work on her own political project – writing an offbeat movie about an immoral congressman and a sex-crazed lobbyist.
The film, a satire called Nailed, is set to star Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel in the lead roles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
As for the movie's plot, Biel's character accidentally has a nail shot into her head, which elicits bizarre sexual urges.
