Designers with fragrances is nothing new--hello, Stella McCartney, Vera Wang, need I go on? The newest of the slew is Balenciaga Paris, which debuted last month. In a press release, Nicholas Ghesquiere said:

“As soon as I arrived at Balenciaga, over 10 years ago, I wanted to create a fragrance. A classic and chic fragrance worthy of a prestigious couture house. But a fragrance that also tells an unprecedented story. I wanted BALENCIAGA PARIS to be a fragrance that makes a mark and haunts the memory. I also wanted BALENCIAGA PARIS to be a fragrance with delicate mystery. I would like women to discover BALENCIAGA PARIS and have the impression that they have always known it.”

Will you try Balenciaga Paris? I haven't had a chance to sample it just yet but I'm pretty much a fan of anything Balenciaga. The fragrance is said to be light and floral. You can get it at specialty department stores.

Don't have much time, but I just had to post this when I saw it. This is perfection! I absoloutely love the way Ghesquiere's futuristic approach works so easily with the classic Parisian, rustic urban thing Cristobal built the brand around. Animation filled every bubbled sleeve and sharp line, filling out the contrast, and somewhat of a tribute, with ruffles that go either way. It was then all completed with some to-die-for classic Balenciaga booties that, no matter what direction you go in, can't ever be less than perfect.

Balenciaga's Spring '10 ad campaign couldn't be any more different than its previous. For one, Fall '09 featured actress Jennifer Connelly. This one features models Iselin Steiro and Mirte Maas, shot by Steven Meisel. I guess it's out with the old and in with the new at the house of Balenciaga! I'm digging all the vivacious colors from the Spring collection; the only problem I have is that gargantuan horizontal model in the back. Artistic, perhaps, but kinda distracting. What do you think?

Balenciaga SS09 Ad Campaign

With ten models, ten campaigns and one huge brand name, this is most definitely big. Amanda Laine, Anabela Belikova, Anna Jagodzinska, Anya Kazakova, Diana Farkhullina, Elsa Sylvan, Hanne-Gaby Odiele, Iris Strubegger, Katie Fogarty and Kinga Rajzak have all been named the new face of Balenciaga. If that wasn't intriguing enough, Balenciaga is revealing the ads (each model has their own) one by one to keep us interested. The first we got to see? Elsa Sylvan's ad (first below) and Hanne-Gaby Odiele's and Iris Strubegger's have surfaced. Seven more to go!

When I saw these jodhpur trousers at topshop, I realised they're just like those from Balenciaga's fall collection. And I just couldn't made myself to say no, for making list with these trousers. :D :)
