Carmit Bachar has quit the Pussycat Dolls
singer - who joined the band in 1995 when it was a burlesque group - announced yesterday (02.28.08) she is leaving to “pursue other projects”. Carmit was one of the band’s three main vocalists along with Nicole Scherzinger and Melody Thornton. A Pussycat Doll is no more: Singer Carmit Bachar has announced that she has left the sexy pop group.
"I wanted to be the first to tell you that I'm no longer with the Pussycat Dolls but we will always be sisters forever," Bachar, 33, wrote Saturday on the group's official Web site, before thanking fans for their "unconditional love and support."
The red-headed hottie did not explain why she decided to break from the group – or what she's doing next – though previous reports have suggested that Bachar intends to pursue a solo career.
