That's the sound I make when I don't feel well. Ugh. And I sneeze a lot.

So, I'm sure there's some super-specialized place on the internet that could answer this question for me, but what I want to know is how many of you ladies have a rice cooker, and what else do you do with it?
I just finally got one tonight and made some fantastic, perfectly cooked brown rice. I've been wanting one forever, because I'm so easily distracted I always wander away from the stove and accidentally let my rice burn. (Or I put in too much water.) I know, set a timer, I'm just ADD in the kitchen, I hear the timer, taste the rice, and wander away again, thinking to myself, "I'll go check on it in a minute...". And it seems like every time it takes a different amount of time to get to the right consistency, 25 minutes, 30 minutes, 35 minutes... Easier to pony up the thirty bucks for the appliance than to try and change my behavior to become patient enough to deal, you know? Plus, honestly, the first batch of rice we made was so tasty, it's better than anything we've made on the stove, I don't know why.

I love stir-frys since they are quick and easy weekday dinner! After the chopping in less than 20 minutes, dinner is served! This week was brussels sprouts, bell pepper, snap peas, onions, ginger, carrots, bok choy and soy beans.

Most people looking out for a beneficial beauty routine go in for commercially made and marketed products that can only determine their usefulness through trial and error (and cost you a bundle too), the best way to invest in long-lasting beauty and health is through intake of top skin food. These include products from nature’s bounty that are plentiful in quantity and freely available for the picking should one venture to go back to basics and become beautiful-naturally!

I think the last cake I posted was right around the end of May, which makes me sad because I have been doing SO much lately and just have not had the time to share any of my latest creations with you. So please forgive me, but I am about to dump about 5 posts in here right in a row.
The first one is a three-tiered wedding cake I made around the first week of June.

The g-d who bleeds
By Jonah Goldberg
In one of my favorite episodes of "Star Trek," Captain Kirk is mistaken for a god by inhabitants of a planet of Native Americans (it's a long story). The illusion works for Kirk until a jealous shaman cuts Kirk's hand, revealing that the divine being is just a man after all. "Behold!

How Obamacare Will Change Your Life
By David Catron
It's all over but the slow walking and sad singing. The old U.S. health care system is about to receive the last rites from the high priest of hope and change.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday. I had the honor of cooking dinner for a small group of four people. The meal was vegetarian (actually vegan, except for one dessert), mostly organic, with no added sugar and nothing refined.

DENIED: Bigotry of the Obamatrons by Charles Winecoff
Recently, at the office (a place I sometimes affectionately refer to as Obama Central), I made the mistake of printing out a Washington Post editorial that questioned the foreign policy expertise of our new Commander-in-Chief. By the time I got to the printer to pick it up, someone else had already seen it - and stamped “DENIED” across the top of the page in red ink. Next to that was scrawled, “RIGHT WINGER GO HOME.”
The first thing that went through my mind was: cross burnings.
