DENNIS HOPPER: Before we start, I have a little six-year-old daughter here who’s going crazy right now because you’re on the phone. Could I just put her on for a second to say hello?
KRISTEN STEWART: Yeah, sure.

The first decade of the 21st century, which is about to draw to a close, is in serious danger of being remembered as the time when fame was measured in pokes, tweets, and the ability to parlay a death-defying (and sometimes not so death-defying) degree of persona recklessness into a reality-television deal. But just as the door was about to slam shut on the double aughts, in walks—or, more appropriately, saunters—Kristen Stewart. At 19, Stewart has already earned a place in the annals of pop-culture history. This is due to her starring role in Twilight, which—in case you’ve somehow managed to elude word of its all-encompassing death grip on young America—is a film based on the first in a series of very popular books about vampires, werewolves, and teenage life in the town of Forks, Washington.

For Interview`s 40th anniversary, cover girl Kristen Stewart was interviewed by celebrated actor Dennis Hopper – who accepted the assignment with a bit of an ulterior motive. "My daughter is your biggest fan, so I thought, `What the hell?` " the actor joked when Stewart admiringly asked why he agreed to conduct the Q&A. The daughter made out too: The Twilight star happily obliged to speak to Hopper`s 6-year-old daughter, Galen.

HE’S HOT, HE’S SEXY, HE’S UNDEAD
Two years ago, Robert Pattinson was a forgotten extra in a ‘Harry Potter’ movie. Then he got cast as a blue-balled vampire in ‘Twilight,’ the year’s kazillion-dollar movie franchise, and every woman in America over 14 wants him. Too bad he’s not sure he wants them
It’s December; Twilight, in which Pattinson, 22, plays an adorably tortured perma-teenage vampire too principled to drink human blood, has been in theaters for about a month.

Cary Grant once described his screen persona as "a combination of Jack Buchanan, Noel Coward and Rex Harrison. I pretended to be somebody I wanted to be, and, finally, I became that person. Or he became me."

Robert Pattinson: 'the attention I get now is just mind-bending'
Last Updated: 12:01am GMT 04/12/2008
British actor Robert Pattinson on becoming the object of every teenaged girl's affection with a lead role in blockbuster Twilight.
Robert Pattinson appears ill suited to the celebrity life that awaits him. The 22-year-old Londoner is starring as ferociously handsome teenage vampire Edward Cullen in the movie adaptation of the novel Twilight, and thanks to the response to the movie in the US - where it recouped its $35 million budget on its opening night, before taking over $100 million during its first week on release - he has become an overnight sensation.

Twilight star takes a bite out of fame
'Bizarre' is one word Robert Pattinson uses to describe the frenzy around Twilight and his rise to fame as a pretty-boy vampire

SPECIAL TO THE STAR
For someone at the centre of an ever-escalating fan frenzy that is now bordering on the hysterical, Twilight star Robert Pattinson seems very much at ease.
The British actor's self-deprecating sense of humour and refusal to take the phenomenon seriously is helping him deal with the besotted adoration of millions of teenage girls around the world who are enraptured by the tortured romance between a brooding, beautiful vampire and a mortal schoolgirl.
"It's absolutely nuts," he says, shaking his head in bemusement and laughing.
