This is the movie that I had to travel the furthest to see. I found it at a $2 theater in Norwalk, CA- 40 miles south of LA. My boyfriend and I made it into a day trip and I got some Chick-Fil-A out of the deal, which is generally an east coast delicacy for me.

I hesitated before watching this movie, but after the first 10 minutes I knew I will enjoy "August Rush" as much as I enjoy a beautiful sunny day. Everything is about that immortal hope and the simple music life offers you daily, the kind of music you just have to stop in the middle of the park and listen to , listen like you will never hear anything again.
It's a beautiful love story, between two lovers from different social worlds, but perfect for one another, they fell in love the minute they've first seen each other and then they are separated by faith.

I wanted to read the books before I watched this film, because I hear they’re phenomenal and I badly wanted to do a book to film comparison, but I never expected it to be nominated.
In an alternate dimension where people’s soul’s live outside their body in the form of “daemons,” Lyra (Dakota Blue Richards) is an orphan who is chosen to have a golden compass that can answer any question she asks it. Her best friend is taken by Gobblers, evildoers who are part of the dominating Magisterium, and she sets out on a quest to the north to find him.

Audiences fell under the spell of "Enchanted," a fairy-tale romance that debuted as the No. 1 movie and led Hollywood out of its recent box-office doldrums with solid business over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Starring Amy Adams as a cartoon princess exiled to real-world Manhattan by her fiance's wicked stepmother (Susan Sarandon), Disney's "Enchanted" took in $35.3 million over the weekend and $50.05 million since debuting Wednesday, according to studio estimates Sunday.
