Bestselling author J.K. Rowling’s 800-word hand-written new story sold for 25,000 pounds ($49,000) at a charity auction on Tuesday. Reportedly described as a prequel to the Harry Potter boy wizard books, the story is set three years before Harry Potter is born and features the characters Sirius Black and Harry’s father James.

LONDON - J.K. Rowling has completed her first book not to feature teen wizard Harry Potter an illustrated collection of magical fairy stories titled "The Tales of Beedle the Bard."
Only seven copies of the book are being printed, Rowling said Thursday.

J.K. Rowling has filed a lawsuit in Manhattan against fan Steven Vander Ark over his proposed, unauthorized reference work, Harry Potter Lexicon.
"I am deeply troubled by the portrayal of my efforts to protect and preserve the copyrights I have been granted in the Harry Potter books," say court papers filed on Wednesday by Rowling, who is joined in the suit by Warner Bros.

LONDON, England (AP) -- A book of fairy tales created, handwritten and illustrated by J.K. Rowling sold for nearly $4 million at auction Thursday.
The buyer, London art agent Hazlitt, Gooden and Fox, now has one of only seven copies of "The Tales of Beedle the Bard," which is leather bound with silver mounts.

NEW YORK - Harry Potter fans, the rumors are true: Albus Dumbledore, master wizard and Headmaster of Hogwarts, is gay. J.K. Rowling, author of the mega-selling fantasy series that ended last summer, outed the beloved character Friday night while appearing before a full house at Carnegie Hall.

2,000 lucky fans had the opportunity to interact with JK Rowling this evening at Carnegie Hall. The reading was rather eventful, as Jo revealed a lot of new information previously unknown about the series.
The most notable news of the night was the revelation of Dumbledore's sexuality.
