Let me preface this by saying that normally I HAAAAATE Jane Austen knock offs. I have read a couple and hated them all. I am an avid Jane Austen fan and really want her integrity upheld, so the books that try to continue Darcy and Elizabeth's story and their like usually aggravate me.

On a balmy autumn day in Vancouver, a young man is longing for a walk outside in the sunshine, and deciding against it. Far easier for him to stay in his hotel room, cocooned in five-star luxury with a mobile phone that has run out of charge, safe at least from the girls chanting his name outside. Robert Pattinson, 23 and from Barnes in southwest London, ought still to be one of Hollywood’s beautiful dreamers, moving up the ranks of movie acting, enjoying his American adventure, his guitar, his good looks.

This week's cover: Why America is falling for 'Glee'
by EW staff
Categories: Glee, This Week's Cover
This season’s most unexpected success story, Glee is snarky, theatrical, totally addictive — and a cult phenomenon on its way to becoming a national obsession. The comedy is currently averaging a steady 8 million viewers a week, and the people watching are enviably young: Five million of its viewers are in the desirable 18–49 demo. (It’s little wonder that in September, Fox made Glee the first new fall series to be given a full 22-episode pickup.) Meanwhile, fans are staying engaged even after the episodes are over by downloading the cast’s newest cover tunes.

Criticizing Glee is like lecturing a puppy—you end up feeling like the bad guy.
Puppies, like Glee, are cute, energetic, and a whole lot more fun to watch than a police procedural. Why can't you just enjoy them as they are, for what they are?

Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg on the set of the movie Slogan, June 1968. By Gilles Caron/Contact Press Images.
The Secret World of Serge Gainsbourg
Sixteen years after Serge Gainsbourg's death, his small, graffiti-covered Paris house is almost exactly as he left it—crammed with mementos of his poetic, nicotine-and-alcohol-fueled, sometimes scandalous life as France's most adored singer-songwriter, lover of Jane Birkin and Brigitte Bardot, and friend to countless taxi drivers and policemen.
