Laurence Fishburne is in talks to replace William Petersen in CSI
Laurence Fishburne is reportedly being sought to replace William Petersen as the star of CBS’ hit crime drama “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” Petersen will only be doing the first 10 episodes of this coming season’s CSI as a full-time series regular. The eight-year CSI vet will continue his ongoing role as an executive producer and intends to return on occasion as a (very special) guest star. I was in New Orleans a few months before Katrina hit having a great time window shopping with my mom and I saw Laurence Fishburne doing the same thing with his daughter - very nice woman. He was very courteous, introduced his daughter, said hello, asked how we were (and a few other people around) and was very polite - one of the nicest people I have EVER met. And of course, I was an idiot, it was first ever celebrity sighting - and I probably came of very rude.UNICEF Up Close's photos

Gina Torres has been cast on Gossip Girl as Vanessa's mother.
Gabriela Abrams, mother to home-schooled Vanessa, is described as being warm and outgoing, which will certainly be a change of pace for this show, not exactly known for parental virtuousness (much as Rufus and Lily might mean well).
She is a free spirit, herself a former Brooklynite who lives "off the grid" in Vermont and expresses strong opinions about things, especially concerning her daughter.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Another highly anticipated sequel of the summer, except this one didn't disappoint me! One of the first things I noticed that was good about this 'sequel' was that you did not need to see the first movie to understand it (my boyfriend has never seen the first one and he still enjoyed this one a lot). The Silver Surfer absolutely lives up to the hype the commercials give him, the character is very cool and I was surprised to learn that while Doug Jones plays the Silver Surfer, Laurence Fishburne does the voice for the character.My Celeb sightings around the world :-)
I saw Laurence Fishburne in NYC around new years 2000. There was a large group of people waiting outside a broadway play for Liza Minelli to come out. After waiting in the cold for 15 min, my cousin and I saw Lawrence walking on his own, dressed very nicely in a long coat and leather gloves (as I remember) He looked very dapper.
