It's been a long time since I last blogged (June to be exact!) I thank everyone who has read my blogs in the past. I feel like I have a great audience and friends here on the Sugar Network, to make me feel like it's worth while to write in the first place!
I just looked through quickly some of the blogs I posted in the past, and because my memory fails me most of the time, I was going to write that this was my first blog specifically about a movie, but I was wrong!

The true story of the first openly gay politician, San Francisco city supervisor Harvey Milk, has finally been made into a film. The trailer for the film, simply titled “Milk,” is now out, below, and the movie looks pretty good. Sean Penn does an amazing job channeling Milk, while “No Country For Old Men” star Josh Brolin looks eerily like Dan White, the man who assassinated Milk along with city Mayor George Moscone in 1978.

We have been buying organic milk at our house for a few years now. I got so used to buying it that I stopped paying attention to how much it costs. Today, however, I was at Target and needed to get some milk for my son.

The Ramona School District reversed its decision and allowed a 6th grader Thursday to present her report on slain gay rights leader Harvey Milk.
In May, sixth-grader Natalie Jones was the only student in her class prevented from giving an in-class presentation.
The Ramona school district in San Diego County told Jones that she could not give her oral report on Milk before the class because her fellow students did not have signed permission slips from their parents.

While Maybelline is into the tents and MAC is officially (and unfortunately) out now, the cosmetics company continues to be a big part of New York Fashion Week, now more than ever. MAC is holding their own fashion week alternative for showing: Milk studios. The venue is available for shows for free, and designers are flocking towards the opportunity.

I saw this film back in November just a few weeks after the election, so I was still in the politics mind set.
The film tells the story of Harvey Milk (Sean Penn), California’s first openly gay elected official, who after a life of struggling against oppression, is assassinated by a fellow politician, supervisor Dan White (Josh Brolin).
I loved this film and it really struck a chord with me, and I’m sure many fellow Californians as well, as one of Milk’s campaigns against a Prop so closely resembles that of the recent Prop 8.

Add around 1/3 cup of honey to 2 1/4 cups of milk. Mix
thoroughly. You can even add a few drops of essential oil
to give you honey milk bath additional scent.
